Totally surprised to hear my old neighbors voice who graciously took me fishing as a kid. A great guy. I remember his magazine being delivered to my house growing up. Lots of good memories.
My buddy Kwanza Henderson got me hooked on wanting to catch a peacock bass. He used to take amazing photos of them. I always regret not taking a trip down to Florida to go fishing with him before he passed away from cancer. Peacock Bass, Snook and a Black finn tuna from a kayak. That's my Kwanza Bucket list.
I didn’t hear you say George’s name in the beginning. I recognized his voice from New York fishing podcast Great Podcast! You guys should invite Billy Joel next time lol just kidding
Looks like good fun in the sun! The action looks similar to a favorite lure of mine, a Heddon torpedo! Same cadence (zoop-pause-zoop zoop) and hold on tight!
Really hoping George is able to find me a couple of back issues of Noreast that I appeared in. It would mean the world to me. I was going to ask you John (at the show) if you had any contact information, till I discovered my son is good friends with his son . All my fingers and toes are crossed.
Like finding a snake, you just gotta poke at it. It was a cute little gator. Always dreamed of catching a peacock bass but couldn't pass up the salt water species to do it. They just pull too hard.
Hey John, I do both bass and inshore fishing here in NC. There are sections of the catawba river that are a bass goldmine and a cool float if you ever get into that. Also there are some easy smallmouth floats you'd like as well.
Henry Waszuzuk a retired Canadian football player had a fishing show called Fins and Skins. Points for fish and point for golfing just like you were taking about
Wow! You mean you don't know everything ? I thought you were the know it all of fishing. My son told me you were & he's been fishing the salt for 40 years, I bee n fishing the salt for 68 years. I never needed or used gloves. I get a kick out of you & all the other so called fishing masters on here.
The gloves are a sun screen for skin cancer. Something very common in anglers and not what you want to get. I’m thinking you of all people should have known that.
Pretty cool seeing you in a bass boat. You've got some deadly accurate casts.

I always knew you'd be a life long angler! I hope all is well with you Johnny!

Can’t wait for the fluke and striper vids 👀👀
John skinner fishing for bass is something I ever thought I would see but something I needed!
Great video, lovely bit of variety, although I wouldn’t fancy unhooking the gator!
Not something yoy see everyday. Great video John thanks
My goodness quite a chatty fella 😂 but nothing wrong w/that love the video John
That trailing gator was tremendous
Been waiting for this one! Great action!
Always enjoy your videos Mr. Skinner.
Love catching peas on topwater! My go-to topwater was a Heddon torpedo... caught hundreds of peacocks that way, but I've caught way more on X-raps.
Nice top water action..I need that lure !
I bet your mossy mullet would work well. We fish live shad for them, but I always wanted to try a lure. LOL on the gator!

Was thinking the same thing. Used that torpedo a lot 35-40 yrs ago
Well hot dang, Mr skinner landing largies!
I'll go with what mark Twain said...... The game of golf spoils a good walk.

Nothing better than wetting a line with an old chum and mentor.
Hey John, great content

A gishing tournament!
I like the point of this sentence.

That's excellent!
Great day, would you catch fish from shoreline without a boat?
When are you heading north, looking forward to your north east fishing adventures.
Soon.
Is this the first freshwater video on your channel?
I think so.
Love the freshwater action. What part of Florida was this?
SW
Are Peacock Bass naturally found in Florida, or have they been imported to the USA?
They were introduced on the South East Coast by the Florida FWC in the 80s.
@GeorgeScocca Thank you for clarification.
What were you saying about Citizens insurance. I had them until they dropped out of NY.
Two rate structures for whether your home is a primary residence or not. Ridiculous rates now in Florida for non-primary.
Fins and skins
Someone just told me what that was. Perfect!
You ever write for Long Island Fisherman John? And what happened to our ISLANDERS? :(

Is this supposed to be spiteful or am I just reading it that way?
