Thank you for always looking out for us!!! My mother always used Oil of olay, and after hearing the shadiness of this company, I am outraged that she did it for Nothing. Companies that hide things should Absolutely be called out. You do a great service to us all by telling us what you find out. Love ya. ❤😊
Shame on Olay, and all companies who do this, big or small. And to think it came to light only due to the new EU regulations! Thank you, Rob, for communicating this important information. 🤗🥰
Thank you for the video Rob! It's a shame that Olay (I still call it Oil of Olay, ha!) has to be shady like that. I'll be sharing this around so people are in the know. I'm glad there are channels like yours who keep us informed!
Yeah its not a bad place to start but it wont give you amazing results in the long term.. thank you so much for watching and sending you so much love x
My mum always used the cream when it was called oil of ulay. She used it for years then when it changed over to Olay it weirdly started to affect her skin so she never used it after that. She swore they’d changed the ingredients but they told her they hadn’t. Thank you Rob. You are our saviour and thank god people like you tell us how it really is. You’re a star and we love and appreciate you for it. Never change you wonderful man ❤️
Although I thoroughly enjoyed using the Max when I was starting out (now I use tretinoin) I stopped using it mainly because it used to irritate me they wouldn’t disclose the percentage. It’s like NO I’m paying YOU……. don’t dictate to me what you will & won’t disclose to me as the consumer. We are smarter now as consumers because of content creators such as Rob, Dr Dray, Doctorly & many other derms educating us. Thanks for this video Rob, confirming what we always suspected 👏🏻
I think if companies like Olay are falsley marketing a product then they are probably doing the same thing with many of their other products. Your Retinal in Oil is lovely, please consider bringing out a range of these oils in different strengths. ❤
Shocked, if they’re being dishonest about that, what else are they being dishonest about? Can’t say I like or love the brand. Thanks for making this video ❤
I also had my doubts and have never purchased it. I have gotten them as gifts from well meaning people, but it’s just a moisturizer as far as I’m concerned. 💕
Hell yeah! Never thought to buy olay... We had a bit of a shitstorm in Germany recently. The brand farmlovesface and balea (from our drugstore dm) and another one I can't remember right now brought out retinal products that were white. Everyone was suspicious of course. And then they had to admit that it is some other form of retinal and not real retinal. I think they took the products off the shelves after that. But they put most of the blame on the supplier, that doesn't make a good impression imo.
Oh wow I hadn't heard that hun but thats outrageous.. customers know more these days so brands cant get away with things the way they used to :) love xxxxxx
To be honest, since discovering Korean skincare, l haven't bought a single product from Olay, as the efficacy and value just isn't cutting it for me anymore. A jar of one of these premium Olay cream now costs about $60 full price here in Australia!
Digressing a little…I was looking for a Vitamin C product and I don’t know what possessed me but I got the Olay Luminous Vitamin C cream (probably cause it was 2 for 1) It’s not a brand I would usually buy. Well it gave me the most hectic red rash and it had an unbearably pungent fragrance. Never again! I am generally not keen on brands that spend a fortune on marketing and if a brand won’t disclose the % of an active ingredient then it is in all probability a very low %. I like brands that are upfront and honest about their products.
Hi Rob, Transparency is a must for me. I’m no skincare expert and I need all the help I can to buy good products. Without transparency ther will be no purchase 😅❤
I use the Olay body wash and I don’t know if this would cross over to all of their products, but it is a holy Grail product for me. It’s all I used originally and it helped get rid of strawberry skin well, as reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. Since I started that about a year ago, I have now expanded my routine to include. Natiriums glycolic acid body wash, salicylic acid, kojic acid and a glutathione body wash I just put 2 quarts of each in my soaking water with a dab of urea lotion to break up the surface tension so the bubbles won’t go crazy and voilà! I have a beautiful soak with active. Now I do hope that all they start including percentages because I would love to increase my dosage in my body care, but I have not had any problems with their body wash so far .
Let me add I hadn’t used their fave retinol for the exact reason that you listed in this video. I’d prefer to know what I’m getting so I can know how I needed to move based on how my skin responded.
Thank you for a very informative video! I actually use this product & whilst I believe this is a very good product I whole heartedly believe you are truth sharing. Bare in mind I was struggling with my budget & this product was on offer for almost 50% off. I trust Olay but bought this because I needed a cream. I would usually spend alot more such as Judith Williams & Pixi retinol as part of my routine. Besides the regulation, I felt uneasy buying into it because there was no list of ingredients which I thought was weird as hell. Never cared or noticed the marketing but just think those ingredients are more effective when used separately rather than bunched all in together
I actually enjoyed the Olay Retinol 24 as a beginner's product. It contained enough retinol to cause a bit of irritation, but not so much as to put me off the path. I went through the whole tub, and it made my skin noticeably better, to the point of getting unsolicited compliments for my skin. But I absolutely get your point. There needs to be honesty about active ingredients and their concentration. I've recently switched to tazarotene, and it feels like starting from scratch. I really need to start adjusting and balancing again. Sure it's more potent, but it also takes more precision in usage.
Interesting thank you, since watching your videos and learning more about ingredients I would never buy skincare from this brand or similar. It’s all K beauty, geek & gorgeous and your madaboutskin. I’m 60 and my skin has improved loads in the last few years ❤
Oh thats amazing and I am so so happy your getting the results you want :) - I dont think its fair brands expect us to put something on our skin which we dont know the strength of.. love x
Such a shame. So easy to fool people and major companies know this. That is why I love brands like The Ordinary. Not saying all their products are great, but at least you know what you are getting. Thanks for your honest reviews!
I think we realised this when it came out. I have always thought Olay was far too overpriced, especially when they are always on offer for buy one get one free. I will stick with retinal from MAS or G&G ❤
Overpriced as a facial cream and didn’t enjoy it - didn’t want to waste and throw away so I used up my jar of it as a body moisturizer. Having said that a lot of Asian beauty brands don’t state percentages of active ingredients either.
I've been wasting my money on their products for years and spend quite a bit. Now that I'm older I see less and less results and know why, aside from good hydration. I am so angry that I paid for products that were deceptive and didn't work. Now I know why. Thank you for exposing the truth. I'll have to find a new brand of face wash, moisturizers, etc. SO angry at Olay. They got richer off of lying to loyal consumers.
Wow! I’ve never tried this one (also thought the non-disclosure was sus) but always assumed this was olay’s competitor to neutrogena’s retinol cream (the silver one)… Did neutrogena have to reformulate or is theirs also a super low %? I’m on tret, but I’m just curious 🤔
I haven't trusted Olay for a while. I remember a year ago stand8ng in the drugstore trying to decipher the packaging and couldn't make head 9r tail out of all the different formulas that do the same thing. I ended up turning around to the other side of the aisle and bought LaRoche Posay instead!
Completely off the video topic rob but just a quick question. Can I use vitamin c under eye roll on with arg and matrixyl combo? I’ve heard you can’t use them all together so thought I would ask you instead of Google ❤ xx
Hi Rob, no other UA-camr has done it may you review the skincare brand Victoria Health specifically their alpha aubutin and Kojic acid serum? Pretty please!! ❤
I love this creme. I am someone that simply cannot tolarate retinol or retinal. My skin is sooo sensitive this one is the only one I can tolerate next to bakuchiol. But this is def. Shady of the brand
Oh for the eye yeah I think it would be good hun.. I use the Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 5 for the eye and this Olay one is weaker than that but if your looking for low strength round the eyes then this would work for sure.. Hope all is wonderful with you x
my opinion nowadays is that if a company doesn't tell you the percentage of an ingredient, you can bet that it's low. if it were high enough to be impressive, they would shout it from the rooftops. when there are good options that tell you directly how much of an active is in a product, why buy from brands that aren't transparent?
Half price today at Boots and Superdrug. Full price and it's £88 for the serum and moisturiser. I think that's more expensive than Medik8 and that's retinal 😮
I have never bought these products because it doesn’t tell you the % of actives, we should absolutely be told, as the consumers, what the % of actives are in a product
I spent so much on Olay products. But when I first saw you older video about this particular face moisturizer, I have stopped using all their products all together since… shady for sure
For me, zero disclosure = your loss ! Although many times you will still be able to google some info about a product, it is hard to fathom how uneducated they think we are...
Super shady, however there are many of my clients who are just confused by percentages and make purchasing decisions purely based on advertising promises and misleading labels. For as long as these people exist, companies like Olay will always have a customer 😞 It's quite unfortunate (for mass consciousness) selling to the blind! I hope they sleep well at night with their millions.
Called out thank you Rob shifty olay. 🤨 better to change to retinal like you said .Koreans have some beautiful actives / blends yes geek and gorgeous are a excellent skincare line to go with love there power peptides I'm allmost threw my first bottle 😂
Who remembers when this brand was called Oil Of Ulay? (God I feel old) X
Haha I remember that and also feel like im showing my age knowing that lol x
I do! And I still call it oil of Olay!
I do, and it smelled so nice, in the glass bottle
It’s oil of Olay to me! Yes, I’m showing my age
😂
This is why transparency in active ingredient percentages matters!
I agree hun, this would be a great option for beginners but useless for anything more advanced with retinoids.. love x
I will never buy an Olay product ever again thank you for the information!
My pleasure hun and I think they are over priced for what they offer anyway .. I do hoep they learn and become a little more transparent xx
Shared - thanks for speaking out and being sponsorship free Rob
Thank you so much hun.. sending love x
Stay sharp, shop small, thank you for helping us staying informed.
Thank you so much hun.. I agree totally.. love x
Thanks to you, for me no percentages, no purchases, bless you for your information and integrity 😊😊😊
Thank you for your integrity and your commitment to transparent information! I always appreciate your videos and your philosophy. Ciao Rob! ❤😊
Oh thank you so so much hun, these words mean a lot to me. love xxxxxx

Shame on Olay, and all companies who do this, big or small. And to think it came to light only due to the new EU regulations! Thank you, Rob, for communicating this important information. 🤗🥰
My pleasure hun and I hope brands will be less shady in 2025.. love xx
This transparency and honesty had me hit the “follow” button. Thank you for your courage.
Oh thank you so much Hun, your support means so much to me x
Thank you for the video Rob! It's a shame that Olay (I still call it Oil of Olay, ha!) has to be shady like that. I'll be sharing this around so people are in the know. I'm glad there are channels like yours who keep us informed!
Thankyou rob ,it's the first time I've used a retinol due to recommendations by dermatologists ,I wondered why it wasn't working for me at all !
Yeah its not a bad place to start but it wont give you amazing results in the long term.. thank you so much for watching and sending you so much love x
@MadAboutSkin thankyou, love your videos so informative ❤️
My mum always used the cream when it was called oil of ulay. She used it for years then when it changed over to Olay it weirdly started to affect her skin so she never used it after that. She swore they’d changed the ingredients but they told her they hadn’t.
Thank you Rob. You are our saviour and thank god people like you tell us how it really is. You’re a star and we love and appreciate you for it. Never change you wonderful man ❤️
Been using olay regenerating serum for 20 years no complaints here!!
Me either
I love your channel and the truth it brings.
Thank you so much hun.. love you x
Although I thoroughly enjoyed using the Max when I was starting out (now I use tretinoin) I stopped using it mainly because it used to irritate me they wouldn’t disclose the percentage. So good to have a truly independent and honest review.
Thank you so much hun xx
Happy Sunday all
Happy Sunday hun x
Thay will have to be more careful nowadays, because we ( consumers) have great teachers like you! 🤩🤩🤩 Thank you ❤
I think if companies like Olay are falsley marketing a product then they are probably doing the same thing with many of their other products. Your Retinal in Oil is lovely, please consider bringing out a range of these oils in different strengths. ❤
Lesley, you read my mind and I am working on some higher strength options as we speak :) sending you so so much love x
I agree hun, great moisturiser and nothing else.. love x
Yes, I agree. I had used both but quit using them recently very expensive, my neck got red and very itchy.
Hell yeah! Never thought to buy olay... We had a bit of a shitstorm in Germany recently. @MadAboutSkin I think it was a couple of influencers who really turned the tide and made the companies take action 😊
Rob , thank you for this information . Here in the States, commercials are bombarded with these Olay ads - I, personally will no longer purchase!
Thanks for speaking out!!
My pleasure Hun and thanks for watching xx
Great video, thank you !
Thank you so much hun.. love x
Thank you for opening our eyes. This is why I love you! You’re the best. Good bye Olay 😗
To be honest, since discovering Korean skincare, l haven't bought a single product from Olay, as the efficacy and value just isn't cutting it for me anymore. A jar of one of these premium Olay cream now costs about $60 full price here in Australia!
That's a lot do you have a Costco out there cause you can get all kinds of creams for great prices.
Yours is a fantastic channel. I trust your recommendations and the info you share.
Oh thank you so much hun thats so kind of you to say and your support means a lot to me xx

I’ve used this cream and it felt like a REGULAR non retinol cream. Hydrating - yes. No other changes. ❤
I agree hun, great as a moisturiser but terrible as a retinol.. love xx
Thank you for a very informative video! I actually use this product & whilst I believe this is a very good product I whole heartedly believe you are truth sharing.

The neutrogena one is going to be coming out in EU compatible version so I assume its above the 0.3% but they havent said either.. love x

Mary and may eye cream is good for pigmentation plz replyy... and its okey to use morning?plz reply
Hi Rob, no other UA-camr has done it may you review the skincare brand Victoria Health specifically their alpha aubutin and Kojic acid serum? Pretty please!! ❤
Oh wow this is shady.. wouldn't buy from them anyway
No I agree and I think they are over priced anyway x
I love this creme. I am someone that simply cannot tolarate retinol or retinal. My skin is sooo sensitive this one is the only one I can tolerate next to bakuchiol. But this is def. Shady of the brand
Can you advise the correct order for application? Retinol, copper peptides and Snoxin 11. Thanks in advance.
Hi hun, of course.. I would put the copper peptides on then the snoxin, wait 5 mins then retinol.. love x
Thank you.
I never bought the Regenerist creams because they are packaged in jars which is not appealing to me for application.
I never thought of that but your right, I like a retinoid in a pump if its in a cream as it maintains the strength better x
I bought olay retinol 24 max thinking this was a breakthru great product. I will not buy again. I don't like being scammed
This product might be good for the eye area then...?
Oh for the eye yeah I think it would be good hun.. I use the Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 5 for the eye and this Olay one is weaker than that but if your looking for low strength round the eyes then this would work for sure.. Hope all is wonderful with you x

Amen hun this is the best rule to go by.. if they wont tell you then assume they are hiding something lol x
I agree.
Commenting for algorithm - this is too important to get buried.
Thank you so much Hun cx
I will try G&G ret eventually. I am looking for something gentler in my neck. But the vitamin c serum from them is awesome.
Try Elf's Youth Boosting Advanced Night Retinoid Serum for the neck. Seems gentle, works well for me.
if their lowest percentage is too strong for you, the boj retinal eye cream is nice and gentle
I really hope you love it when you try the G&G one.. love x
Thank you !
My pleasure thanks so much for watching xx
❤ thank you
Half price today at Boots and Superdrug. Full price and it's £88 for the serum and moisturiser. I think that's more expensive than Medik8 and that's retinal 😮
I don’t buy
Olay because I don’t believe the bs
Amen hun.. love x
G&G is the only I use ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ not trying anything else. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have never bought these products because it doesn’t tell you the % of actives, we should absolutely be told, as the consumers, what the % of actives are in a product
I think Olay is expensive for what you get.
Way too expensive
OMG your totally right they have shot up in price and I dont think you get much for that price point. love x
Shady to the max!🤭 Thank you Rob. I would never use their products as they are not cruelty free 🧐
I spent so much on Olay products. But when I first saw you older video about this particular face moisturizer, I have stopped using all their products all together since… shady for sure
I was never interested in Olay😊
I think they are super over priced for what they are.. sending love x
Never got on with Olay and wouldn’t try now
For me, zero disclosure = your loss !
Although many times you will still be able to google some info about a product, it is hard to fathom how uneducated they think we are...
I was an Olay fan for years till 2014, they changed the formulation and is worst now.
Such typical scammy marketing indeed. 😏 thx rob!
Defo shady marketing. Ur right the max label makes you think its stronger
I know right.. they have been totally shady with this one for sure.. sending love x
Super shady, however there are many of my clients who are just confused by percentages and make purchasing decisions purely based on advertising promises and misleading labels. For as long as these people exist, companies like Olay will always have a customer 😞
It's quite unfortunate (for mass consciousness) selling to the blind!
I hope they sleep well at night with their millions.
❤
Sending love x
I don't buy anything olay anyways n i definitely won't now!! Tretinoin for me all the way ❤
Called out thank you Rob shifty olay. 🤨 better to change to retinal like you said .Koreans have some beautiful actives / blends yes geek and gorgeous are a excellent skincare line to go with love there power peptides I'm allmost threw my first bottle 😂
Dermatologists are usually not cosmetic formulators.
You can't argue with results and they are great. Also..no offense . I'm not taking advice from a guy about skin care😊
That's such an odd take.. what does someone's gender have to do with skincare.. we all have skin 🤣
0.3 ?!
Yeah not the best for anyone other than beginners.. love x
Haven't used an Olay product in over twenty yrs they are not cruelty free and none of their products impress me!!!!!
Me thinking it’s STLL called OIL of OLAY😂😂😂😂😂
Old people love this product cos they don’t know any better
If it doesn't say what % is on the cream I will not put it on my face. It's a rip off.
Agree totally
Will never buy Olay products again!
That's really bad!!!!!!
I agree - they knew what they were doing and its such a shame they kept on with it xx
It is INSANE how freaking shady this is! Wow.
I agree hun and they are not the only brand up to this xx
🙋♀️👍
Happy Sunday hun. sending love x
If I don't know what's in it, it doesn't go near my skin...or my wallet
Same here Hun x
And the support animal testing!!! #dobetter
Yeah that's the major no no for me xx
But I saw results: a rash all over my face and a swollen face.
Not cool Olay, not cool 😶
😮 Im done with Olay. Pack of charlatans 😊
Me
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts x
