One of the best productions. Good camera showing close details, good explanation and speaks very well without stumbling. Good sound quality. Joy to watch. So many just don't get how bad their production is.....thank you . Shout out to Velux. Also not a sponsor, but it seems like they supply great product and support.
@@CenvarRoofingandSolar I do have a question. I am replacing 4 - velux c12 skylights. I was hoping to save some by getting the EDL flashing kit EDLC06 instead of EDLC12. That saves $60 on each skylight. It looks like Velux zzz-200 could get some additional step flashing pieces, but I don't know if the flexible underlayment from EDLC06 is enough to do a C12 skylight. Do you know how much flexible underlayment comes with the EDLC06 kit?
I’m not sure of the exact linear ft of underlayment that comes in the roll but there is a significant size difference between those skylights. It’s required by the manufacturer to get the correct flashing kits for the skylight sizes. Risking a possible water penetration probably isn't the best idea because skylights are already the most vulnerable to roof leaks. Also, if the wrong flashing kit is used and it is found out, then the warranty is voided 😬. Hope this helps you out!
Curb mounted skylights require a raised curb for installation, suitable for flat or low-slope roofs, and are easier to replace. Deck mounted skylights are installed directly onto the roof deck with integrated flashing, suitable for steeper roofs, and provide a more seamless appearance.
If we had to take all considerations out... we'd say around $1,200 per. Pricing factors to consider would be pitch, how many stories up is the roof.. etc.
This is an awesome presentation and a true professional. Wonderful video. Much respect and thanks for showing how it is done right.

Skip all the others. This is the best and most complete skylight repair/ replacement video.
Thanks for the support!
Beautiful work - a joy to watch.
Thanks, I got some new tips that I haven't seen before.
Glad to help! If you have another topic that we could cover or any questions, let us know!

Excellent work, thank you
Would it be feasible to generally follow this method with a metal roof?
Great video! Very detailed.
What is the difference between Velux Curb and Velux Deck mounted skylights?

@@CenvarRoofingandSolar Thanks for the explanation!
I have 30yo Anderson power operated skylights that don't leak that I know but don't operate properly. Is updating them expensive labor wise?
Great video! Did you end up re-using the shingles?
We ended up using new shingles for most of the project around the skylight.
How much do people usually charge to change these out?

How can I get this guy to come replace my skylight?
Live in Virginia? Any chance you want to pay for travel, room and board? 🤣
