I’ve been absolutely devouring the appendices for both trilogies again recently and yes, I know exactly what you mean about the cast and crew feeling like reuniting with old friends you haven’t seen in a while
@@samuelleask1132 I know, right?! I didn't mean that in a parasocial, weird way because I've never met these people and they don't know I exist, of course. But it's lovely to see how many of them were involved in both trilogies and to hear about how they feel about the reunion and what they learnt from the first trilogy, etc.
I love the hobbit trilogy. I think it doesn't deserve all the hate it got. Freeman, Armitage, Serkis and McKellen were fantastic, Peter Jackson's direction is unmatched. Smaug is the best dragon I've ever seen. Furthermore, there is a recent 4k uhd edition which greatly improves the visual effects and colors. I believe and hope that over time this trilogy will be reevaluated. Greetings from Italy!
Greetings, fellow defender! I understand disabling the likes, but know that youu have my appreciation as well. The films themselves have their moments that bother me, but they all have something I appreciate. An Unexpected Journey best represented The Hobbit as a book, and I like the interplay of Bilbo, Gandalf and the Dwarves, Riddles in the Dark, and the heartfelt moments from Gandalf and Bilbo. Desolation of Smaug has some of the best action sequences and a darkening ambience leading to the reveal of Smaug. Battle of Five Armies has a bit too much bizarre comedy that doesn't land for me, but the character arcs for Bilbo and Thorin are fantastic.
@@oscarstainton I agree with all the things you listed above that you liked, the films really have so many special moments! I've seen an aggressive kind of hate towards those films and those who like them; it's very bizarre and it scares me a bit, which is one more reason for me to disable the likes/dislikes haha 🥲
