In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

It's crazy how important the mental game is in this sport.

Couldn't agree more on the "shits gonna go wrong every time you're fishing", you just gotta keep fishing. I was fishing a kayak tournament yesterday and my backrest on the chair busted. I seriously thought about giving up and just calling it a day at 10am but I turned that around and was like you know what I'm going to catch a fish while laying down on my busted chair. I lost a couple doing that but I did catch one, new life achievement. I also got a good core workout in. I did finally repair the chair that afternoon with some paracord and somehow ended up cashing a check, 6th out of 62. It just goes to show you never know how it'll end if you keep trying.
I feel like every tournament something goes wrong for me but over time I've learned that I just gotta roll with the punches and deal with what I'm given.
Keep up the good work on the videos, I love watching you fishing, seeing others struggle just lets me know we're all human.

All of your videos are great Greg, I love watching them. You made the best of several bad breaks, and came out on 11th place.
You played it out until the last basket was shot. You left it all on the court. Good job!

So let me tell you a small story Greg. I uploaded a tournament video recently. The video did very well despite not doing so well in the tournament. I try to model my less exciting content after your and First State Fishing's less exciting days because you two specifically have a way of making even the slow days extremely entertaining.
A couple days later I was on my way home from another hard tournament and saw the video was still doing rather well and decided to stop and get something to drink to celebrate and unwind. I was browsing and saw they carry Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I had a "Hey wait a minute, I know that" moment. So I grabbed a 6 pack, came home and put my son to bed and tried one. They are really good. I rarely drink so it was nice to have a cold one with dinner and I wouldn't of even thought about it had I not been thinking about your awesome bass master video. Thanks buddy.

    • @Jon-nz3dm

I also tried Sierra Nevada due to Greg's videos(seems like a couple years ago now) and they are great. My go-to was always Hazy Little Thing. I can't drink anymore but Greg's videos are still with me lol

I live in Riverside Ca. but got started on your videos while I was working in Kansas. There is an abundance of smaller lakes there. I think I will invest in a kayak when I return to Kansas this summer. Keep up the good work. I will be watching.

One thing I've learned is that if you get down on yourself everything something bad happens, then tournament fishing is probably not for you...You have to be able to shrug it off and keep on going! I love your videos and I have learned a lot by watching...I'm not a kayak fisherman but alot of your content still helps with fishing from a boat...Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom, It is truly inspiring and makes me want to get out and fish every chance I get!

You continue to impress me Greg. You are 100% correct. A lot of fishing is about attitude. If you get down on yourself you won’t make good decisions or fish effectively. Can’t believe you don’t have sponsors lining up to work with you. If you do t already you def will. I’m a huge fan of 6th sense and would love to see a partnership with you and them. Also I’m diggin the music! Great content brother!! Keep making and I’ll keep watching!!!!! 🎣🎣

"When stuff breaks, get over it, keep fishing." Too true. A few years back my Eagle Claw pole shattered while I was casting 1/2 oz. spoons. I'd stupidly not even thought to bring a second pole. It was a spinning rod, so I ganked off the splinters and kept fishing using just the first (biggest) and second eye. Had to change my casting motion a bunch, but a 1/2 oz. spoon will still go pretty far on a calm day. I got a dozen more fish before the day was through. (grin)
