It would probably be better to figure out how to optimize the game to run at a smooth 60fps. The game was programmed C rather than assembly which made the code very slow and not really take proper advantage of the hardware. Saying this because overclocking the CPU on an emulator lets the game run at a smooth 60fps, and playing the game that way does feel a lot better
I need to give this a try. Sonic spinball was always a guilty pleasure of mine. Seeing these changes makes the game a lot more digestible. Especially the ability to save.
There is a little bit of jank that is not related to the audio driver. Take a look at DeoxysPrime's upload of the music and compare. That said, this game is *really hard* to get to sound correct due to the weirdness with GEMS.
I'm still surprised that I haven't seen a physics overhaul

Wow, you're remarkably efficient with the Lava Powerhouse boss
New hack
> Emeralds do stuff
> Proceeds to avoid emeralds
> ???
In this hack the bare minimum emeralds needed to beat the game is 5, so i guess they got no more than 5 just to beat the game fast.
I think we need a Sonic Spinball rom hack that gives us the levels from the 8 bit version with the controls from the 16 bit version
This is a cool concept, but I am slightly annoyed the requirement to unlock the bosses is 5 and not 7 lol
Suprised it took 34 years to get a Sonic Spinball hack.
I don’t think they have a microphone anymore
Why didn't the developers at Sega Technical Institute think of this or even Sega themselves?

what emulator are you using? i havent heard sound emulation this bad in about a decade.
This is how it sounded in-game on real hardware.
This is typical of games that used the GEMS audio driver, including this particular one.
Don't listen to the Options theme
