This video is not intended for children under the age of 14. Quite frankly, kids...I'm just some random old dude talking about nostalgic TV and movie stuff from a really long time ago and I highly doubt that it is going to interest you.

A direct line recording too! Happy to share this "lost" gem with the Gunsmoke fans.
I had a great aunt whose voice and mannerisms were much like Dirty Sally, she also dipped snuff. If this show had been about six to eight years earlier,it would have been a hit.RIP Jeanette Nolan and Dack Rambo.
Thanks for sharing!
Dave I really enjoyed this video, this was so much fun to listen to.
Reminiscent of radio dramas, where Gunsmoke began
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love gun, smoke and dirty. Sally, that's the best one. I just love her
Dirty Sally sounds somewhat like Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies
AHA! Now I know I have a memory of the theme song to this show! I had to make sure. I was waiting for "Californee" to come up! I was only 7 or 8 years old back then. Going on 58, now.
Thanks for sharing this, Tom! I tapped my favorite shows too back in the day, but mine were more variety shows (L.Welk 😮), & special yearly favorite films, The Wizard of Oz & Sound of Music. I would memorize each part by heart.
I have a younger sister named Sally & when Dirty Sally showed up on Gun Smoke, we sure had a great time with the jokes! Times sure have changed, now guess who is putting up with the joking now...Karen? 🙃
This was fun, Dave, thank you!!!
👍👍
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Karenlee!
I saw Dirty Sallie recently on Gunsmoke. She had that mule with a hat on its head. She collected glass to recycle. I think she saved some bandit that was double crossed by his gang and left for dead.
I remember this! I can still sing the theme song 😂
I don't think I've ever even heard of this one! (& YES! I too made audios of old Shows & pretended they were radio Shows in rewatch!)
It's a rarity for sure. Thanks for all your support, Bob!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_Sally
I would record theme songs like Air Wolf, Knight Rider, Hardcastle and McCormick, and The A Team!
They don't make theme songs like they used to! Thanks for all your support.
CBS tried promoting the the show on The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. Sally was on in the beginning of the show talking to one of the regulars. He asked what she was doing on the mock train S&C used. She said she was getting a permanent. He said great When's your appointment? Her reply. I already got one smart alec! Lol
I remember her the dirty old woman that lived alone in an old shack in the wilderness. Even though she didn’t have any loved ones she still had a positive outlook on life because she knew that life was worth living. There was a clip of a good looking woman was that her the actress that played Dirty Sally? Just like Phyiliss Diller that was a good looking lady but she made herself look ugly. This lady was certainly a good actress to play that role. Thanks Dave for sharing this with us because I had forgotten about her. I think there were a couple of more episodes of her.
Jeannette Nolan, the actress who played Sally Fergus, was a very beautiful lady.
Hapsburg chins....shudder.
I remember making a face once when I was a kid and my neighbor said I looked like "Dirty Lucy". It took me a while to realize she meant "Dirty Sally", which was on TV then. I thought she was saying, "30 Lucy" because "The Lucy Show" reruns were on channel 30.
Thanks for sharing.
Very cool video, Dave. I have no recollection of this series. The commercials were great trips down memory lane, especially the Libby's jingle. I have a handful of connections to this, however. Nothing earth-shattering but a few. I'll list them if anyone's curious.
I'd love to hear them, Sean!
@@jdsundstrom 1. My Dad was friends with one of Dack Rambo's cousins. His cousin and his son survived an "interesting" adventure that is a story unto itself.
2. I used to record shows too. partly because I couldn't get enough of them. Competing over the two tv's we had growing up, maybe. The main show I recorded was Star Trek and as a kid I memorized all the dialogue for the three main characters for every episode. years later, I read that Gene Roddenberry taught himself to write dialogue from recordings he made. I find it funny how many of us did that in the days before VCR's.
3. I just looked up Jeannette Nolan and see she lived and worked up until the end of her long life. One of the last things she did was an episode of Dear John where a friend of mine worked as a writers assistant. I did a fair amount of work that got me onto the Paramount lot at the time. I often idly wonder about the paths of people I probably passed closed to meeting. LA, at times, seems a very small world of people to encounter in the industry.
Love it! Thanks so much for sharing@@seaninness334!
I had know idea they did a spinoff of Dirty Salley, I just watched her Gunsmoke episode around 6 months ago

Interesting Dave thanks for sharing great video buddy
Anytime, Cade!
Thanks Dave
I used to make a pretend "radio show" on audio cassette back in the late 1970's/up until the late 1980's. Kept most of the off air recordings of TV shows I used for it, recently digitized them. Since it was a few hundred hours, took a few years to complete the project, but got it done. Had documentation on each "episode" of the fake radio show on index cards. Only a FEW were missing after all these decades. Most of the recordings sound terrible since they were made with a mono mic held to a TV speaker, but they DO sound a bit better after being run through the sound editing software.
It's very cool that you saved them!
@@jdsundstrom It was a chore to digitize them also. Most of my issues dealt with rotten pressure pads. Had to order replacement kits so the tapes would play properly. A few tapes were broken, so also had to order a splicing kit to fix those tapes.
I never every heard of Dirty Sally. Has anyone heard of her.
A few of us old timers still remember her. 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
You're most welcome!
🔫📺AWESOME, DAVE!🧓👵♥🙏
Good story line.
Thanks for listening
I’ve never seen that before! I really loved the episode of Gunsmoke with dirty Sally,. That was really good! Btw,. Who is singing?
I wish I knew. Now...if we could just see the closing credit of the TV show.
The singer was Gene Morford
@@ClassicAustralianTV Thanks
My mom laughed at the beginning when she was taking a bath. She said she was taking a bath cause she was dirty.
On 3/12/2006 We taped this episode off TV Land commercial Free & watching📺👀it now & often😁its Not Lost to Us😂11:15pm✨️9/2/24
Wow this was awesome!
Too bad there isn't any video of Dirty Sally's short run (excluding the character's three appearances on Gunsmoke).
It really is a shame. I find it hard to believe that someone somewhere doesn't have the show recorded. Or, that the network or production house doesn't have master copies...but, here we are in 2024, and no one has seen this show for a half century now.
@@jdsundstrom I would hope that CBS would have copies of the show but whether or not the series will ever see the light of day again is another thing. The music tapes all survive in the CBS collection at UCLA. The master negatives probably are in a vault at CBS.
So cool!
Thanks for all your support, Tracy!
She played a grandmother and a dance instructor on My 3 sons .. 😊🧡💛💙💚💖❤️🩵🩷🙂 Awesome actor
I recorded the audio of a few sitcom episodes one of whuch was the Chico and the Man episode with Joey Bishop. Years ago in Walmart I found a 6 episode dvd of Chico and the Man which included the Joey Bishop episode. I see lots of people here on youtube have uploaded full episodes of various tv shows and even movies. What is youtubes rules on people uploading tv episodes and movies? I just might upload those 6 Chico and the Man episodes if youtube is ok with it.
You may get away with it for a while...but, ultimately, those channels get taken down due to copyright violations.
@@jdsundstrom I recall some of those pages saying it's for entertainment purposes only. I guess that doesn't make a difference.
❤❤❤❤❤hello Dave
Hello!
new here
Welcome!
📺Wow great find Dave!🧓🙏👵🏠
I LOVED that show. And I LOVED Jeanette Nolan.
And THANK YOU Tom and Dave.
I know that Tom is going to be reading everyone's comments. He is a true fan and will be excited to find out what everyone thinks.
It was done too late.Westerns were almost extinct by 1974.Gunsmoke was cancelled a year later.Had it been made six to eight years earlier,it would have been a big hit.Every western other than Gun smoke was off the air by 1974.
You bet!@@jdsundstrom
I remember her on gunsmoke i just watched the episode where she gives Doc the business for wanting to check her out 😂
Ms. Nolan was only 63 when this episode happened. Looks like they made her much older !
Thank You for making this available.
You are very welcome
My pleasure!
I knew I recognized one of the voices Gene Evans playing Sam, he was a heck of an actor
Agreed! Thanks for all your support. 🙂
Well done as usual, Mr. Dave! I think the reason your work is so good is because you care so much about it! And your subscribers care too! Truly a winning combination!!📺📼🍻🤠🐴🇺🇲
Thank you very much, Todd!

I enjoyed this show., and I'm sure the episodes are in a vault somewhere. If the powers that be thought there was money to be made on the series a DVD could be produced.
Let's hope that they are found and "the powers that be" make the right decision.
my thoughts exactly!!!
I just watched it today.
Remember watching this series when it first aired and would LOVE to see it released on DVD or even streaming--surely it is sitting somewhere in a vault. Please tell your friend thanks for sharing this with all of us!!!
I will pass on your thanks!
Great ❤
Thank you, Dave. You Belong at ThE Top of Gunsmoke's Hall of Fame of Viewers.
I only wish this "link"(?) would offer the emoji of the Cowboy for you here. 😂.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video.
I have just become aware of a show called "The Girl with Something Extra." It starred Sally Fields as a mind reading newlywed to John Davidson who (somehow) is just now learning about it. It only lasted 1 season, they just showed the whole series as a marathon on whatever channel aired on. I watched a couple, it was interesting and surprisingly insightful, atleast for the time and considering it was mostly a comedy. Check it out.
Awesome!
Thanks!
I loved this show as a 9 year old kid.
