    --------------------
CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE is a radio drama series created and directed by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982. Later in the early 2000s the show was repeated by the NPR satellite feed.
The format was similar to that of classic old time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that the episodes were introduced by host E. G. Marshall who provided pithy wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of those earlier programs, Marshall is fully mortal, merely someone whose heightened insight and erudition plunge the listener into the world of the macabre.
CBS Radio MYSTERY THEATRE was broadcast each weeknight, at first with a new program each night. Later in the run, three or four episodes were new originals each week, and the remainder repeats. There were 1,399 original episodes.

Thank you for another fantastic set. When I listened to these in the 70s, E.G. would give his little thoughts on the subject matter, and I'd be like, "wow, just like grandpa talks!! 😳" now I'm much older, and good ol E.G. still keeping me in check..one favorite of my grandpa's, if I can share, "Never be the one to take the smile off of someone's face" ooff..to this day, I live by that. It's so profound.

The Deadly Process is a great story. Then that twist at the end. The whole thing is an emotional kaleidoscope.

Hi! I listened to part 2 and 3 of this 5 times and not sure what the twist was. Was it that the wife realized her husband was a liar and cheat? And how exactly did she realize it? I usually understand these shows, but this one was a little more complex for my pea brain listening at night.

Just had the strangest thought. That being, the times I have experienced sleep paralysis, and I could not wake my self up, that perhaps my astral body had still not returned. I have very strange and varied dreams swinging from wildly beautiful, to absolutely terrifying in fact, I just awoke from a dream (nightmare), where a group of people I was with, were made to lay on the ground, when 2-3 in the group produced guns and were preparing to kill the ones in the group who had betrayed them in some way. The one lady with the gun was about to shoot me, when another one of the assailants told her that I wasn't one of the ones and they were questioning this and I believe she had decided to shoot me in the head anyway, for one less witness. So strange, I was carrying on conversation with these people, like they were close friends, but knew none of them in this life. Another strange element of this was when I awoke, it had only been 10 minutes, but in the dream at least a few hours had lapsed.
