When I was 15 or so, I went on a ski course with my school, where I listened to this song on repeat and cried perhaps a dozen times, because at that period and place, I felt something fading from my life. And five years later, I'm realizing what it was; the pure joy of life that children are capable of. Experiencing existence with your soul, appreciating it in its wholeness and unity, actually living. I don't know if adults are still able to do this, sometimes the ego makes it too hard, sometimes the pain of living is too big, but this song reminds me that the answer is out there somewhere and also inside us.

You missed the point of the short film. in the allegory everyone starts out in their typical unhappy jaded mood. The idea is to take your heart to the party and leave the frown behind. The end goal is to bring a smile & fun to life. It's all about learning to transition from miserable to happy.
