The bluetooth will only connect to devices when the source is on bluetooth. If the source is on FM/AM or AUX, it doesn't broadcast the bluetooth signal, so it won't connect to any devices.

Glad you liked it! Unfortunately no, this radio isn't capable of charging the battery.
