I prefer to use the exact match soffit paint of each home and to paint after install. Tracks can tend to get some minor scratches during the install procedure like anything painted and moved around. You don't have to paint the whole soffit when using matching paint and you can generally apply the paint liberally as it will match when dry. Painting post install allows you touch up and create a very seemless look....just like when you paint trim. Any soffit, or track imperfections always hide better with paint. Just like anything you paint on your home. :). Also, while I am working on a better solution...it only takes a few minutes pre install to put painters tape over the face of the light puck to make painting easier. It is also possible to "paint as you go" carefully, just more cumbersome. My next install I will be using a cordless paint sprayer. Look out for that video this season down the road.
Govee connectors fit together securely naturally and fit inside the track neat and protected without having cut off the connectors or splice lights together. However, you do have to remove the loose thumbscew piece. Just like you would an end cap piece that is not used if that makes sense.
Depending on how you measure, center of light, edge of light, far side....it can depend. As for the tracks. They are measured for govee precisely. So total track length with the puck mount space for pro version is 19.5" and 18.5" between the lights. Let me know if that doesn't make sense. There is also the "Vibrant" track option for pro which allows you to space the lights closer together without having to cut/splice between lights. You simply store the excess wire in the track.
After the 5th strand tucked up under the eve, top left of the front door. Which is a much better place, in my opinion, out of direct sunlight like they had it. :)
Nice and clean...great job!
Thank you!
Thanks so much for the tips!!
Any time!
Where can u buy tracks?
This should work with open rafters, right?
I’m sure that depends on your methodology. Each track is 19.5” total length on factor product and 15.5” on vibrant.
@@jroweinc thanks for the reply
Did you paint material before the track install or paint the whole soffit once it was installed, what’s your recommendation?

What do you do with the connectors? Do they fit in the track

Where did you put the module?
