As i had done my postgraduation in medical biochemistry, i reffered many basucs to advanced books in the subject. If you are persuing MBBS, then read chemistry part from 'textbook of medical biochemistry by MN chatterjea' and metabolisms from harpers illustrated biochemistry' remaining topics from 'textbook of biochemistry for medical students by DM Vasudevan'
If you are interested in the particular topic i can guide you more specific.
My favourite books for advanced biochemistry concepts are
1. Lehninger biochemistry
2. Voet and voet biochemistry
3. Tietz textbook of biochemistry
