There arent enough winter/snow themed horror movies, which is a shame because I think it's spookier then something like an abandoned building, graveyard, or old summer camp. Cant run away in deep snow, the environment is more dangerous, things are quiet so you cant hear from as long a distance, and visibility is poor.
Yes! That’s how I feel about horror books!! I’m always on the hunt for Icy/Wintry/Arctic Horror books. The vast, frozen, & desolate atmosphere makes the perfect setting for a horror story! Arctic Stories, fiction & nonfiction are my absolute favorite. Like the Franklin’s Lost NWP Expedition and Ernest Shackleton’s failed Antarctic expedition. Those are true stories and they’re absolutely terrifying!!! 🥶
There’s nothing like cold Winter horror because it’s one of the settings that is not only the medically deathly, but is also obviously deadly to be out in your protagonist. Can’t just walk off the danger or go run out in the snow they can only stay out so long before the cold kills them. Assuming the thing doesn’t kill them first but the snow means they are forced into a confrontation because the environment will kill them if they try to flee.
@@brianmead7556 … vast, frozen landscape, harsh and uninhabitable, hunger & health quickly plummeting while your mind deteriorates… madness…death! SO FREAKIN BRUTAL! 🥶😣
Listening from Alabama. (Only wincing a little at the accent. ❤) When I was a child, we had a "bad" snowstorm (and haven't really had another since). I remember losing power and my family all sleeping in the living room with the fireplace. Sheets blocking off the rest of the house to keep the warmth contained. Some things are obvious, even when you're not used to cold. Haha. Get it together, narrator.
This makes me think of NC and what happened in the Mountains with Hurricane Helen. When you think of a hurricane, you’re not thinking that the mountains would be affected… let me tell ya… Pure devastation!! I live on the coast of NC but our second home is up there in Black Mountain, NC. Seeing it up close and personal was absolutely heartbreaking. Towns, just gone! Washed away. And the people…. So many deaths… so many still missing…(·•᷄∩•᷅ ) I fell to my knees when I saw the destruction it made.
@ginafries4432 Hours of news time on drones over NJ, none for our neighbors freezing in tents beside their mangled homes. We are still paying to move unbombed but scared Israeli families into nice hotels.
As a southerner who experienced the great southern freeze of 2021 This was amazing And a amazing way to get nostalgia about a almost natural disaster 😂😂 Perfect for Christmas
what a jerk why didnt he get out there and shovel that shit away from the doors and windows hell Im from Texas but even ive got enough sense to know that. And why didnt they all sleep together in the living room where the fire was. dumb
I would have shoveled little pathways everyday all the way to the car too so we could get in and run the heat a few times a day and got in the car and headed for Mexico or Florida somewhere warmer
@thatguy1321 Well I guess it depends on your experiences, and how well you tolerate the cold. I haven't been in snow since I got stuck in the blizzard of 1978. I moved to Florida as soon as I could.
@ some of us stay here up north because we can’t picture living without it. I love the battle against the elements. I don’t think I would even celebrate Christmas if I live down south
@thatguy1321 I understand, it can be beautiful, and brutal. It's good that you are where you enjoy it. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, and a sparkling white one.
Please don't tell me this is going to turn into another channel that I have to stop supporting because they're using this AI. Because in doing so they show they're okay with all of the drawbacks, with all of the harm that it brings, to all kinds of people and to the environment itself. I've loved your stuff, man. So many of your causes are just and true. Why are you falling down this same path? Stock photos, free use libraries, all still exist and house contents that actually have humanity to them.
@@donnavalliere8722 I think he's referring to the "art" used for the background. For the record: energy usage in AI "art" generators almost entirely comes from training them, not from using them. For another thing: it's a throwaway image for a background. If he were passing off the image as actual art or using it to replace a paid task by an actual artist, that would be an issue. I myself agree that AI "art" isn't art and shouldn't be treated as such. But complaining about someone using it for a throwaway image used exactly once which may not have a stock/free equivalent is ... kinda silly. Even if one takes it to be a bad thing, it's a *tiny* issue compared to a lot of the more serious ramifications of generative AI's effect on artists, and you are much better off going after the people trying to pass this stuff off as art for a buck --- or, for that matter, the people who get training data and use it without permission --- rather than going after individual UA-camrs who make authentic work but happen to use an image from an AI "art" generator. If naturestemper replaces his channel with AI "written" stories and voices, that's another matter entirely, and one that I would complain about. But I doubt that will happen.

Snow in and of itself is enough of a horror! I kid you not, the video reminds me of my childhood!

I love when you do Americans accents. Keep up all the beautiful work. Much love and light to you and yours over this holiday season.
You don't get many horror tales like this
This was a sad story today. I did love your narration of this gloomy Christmas tale. Thank you. Have a great holiday ❤️🤗🫶🌟
Your stories and the way you read them has to be some of the most intense on youtube...and I listen to alot of creepy/fantasy stories
The beginning of Ragnarok.

I live in Alabama!! We do get excited to see snow but we mostly get ice

This is quite a harrowing tale

and the government did nothing to help the people. If anything, they did the opposite to grab the land
Now imagine going through this whilst living in a tent next to your devastated flooded remnants of your home knowing no one is coming to help. 🙏
Thanks Biden
was that a personal story or just a POV ? I'm not being a jerk I really just want to know
@@ginafries4432 not true to me but the hundreds and thousands of people in the Appalachians.
It's happening right now. Trump should pull out of all the foreign wars and spend that money on his voters

White Christmases are over rated!!! 😂😂, you do an excellent southern US accent ❤. Thanks for another great story.
White Christmases are the best. It just doesn’t feel the same without snow.

Why do you think this is AI? I'm just curious. Does it say it somewhere?
