As someone who encounters Black Bears almost every day, you would never find a "family" including a daddy bear. Moms and cubs will honestly chase the dad off immediately after birth. I have a 600+ lb daddy bear that hits the dumpsters frequently, but once those cubs are born, it's mama and the xu s until winter.
@noahholliday9761 I was thinking the same thing! There's no papa bear in the picture when it comes to bear families. If a mother bear saw a male bear anywhere NEAR her cubs, she would instinctively tear him a new one.
@@talesbyscreenlight so did mine. I heard the mom and dad referred to as "parents" and immediately stopped listening. Female Black bears are matriarchal, and raise their cubs solo. Male Black Bears are solitary in nature, have no part in raising their young, and are only good for making more Black Bears.
This story was an absolute masterclass in suspense and atmosphere! The way it captured the beauty of the forest before transitioning into something far darker was so well done. The descriptions were vivid and unsettling, making me feel like I was right there on the trail. The tension just kept building, and I found myself completely hooked from beginning to end. Skott, your narration truly brought this story to life. Your pacing and delivery were spot on, and you have a way of making every detail feel so real and immersive. Thank you for continuing to share such fantastic performances-you’re a cornerstone of the horror storytelling community, and it’s always a pleasure to listen to your work!
Gonna be honest this one made me laugh because the main character has the stupid, I felt no suspense. Just an everpresent feeling of this guy has no survival instinct.
Okay now, this is stupid: You're telling me that no forensics could've determined the wounds on these rangers' bodies were caused by fangs and claws? Did it occur to any detectives that he could've been describing a rogue bear with a bad case of mange? They convicted this guy because he accidentally fell on top of a body? They concluded he took down 2 forest rangers(who I'm sure we're armed) and a bear with a low caliber rifle and then started eating them all... Did they even bother pumping his stomach or anything??
The second half was absolutely silly. I hate when a story takes a total right turn into absurdity. How do they think he overpowered two rangers, then ripped them apart? How come his DNA is present but not the creature that attacked the man? Are they incapable of detecting claw marks on the corpse? What about DNA testing the blood at the cabin? The whole ending was contrived simply to place the man in prison. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Everything including your amazing narration Is great about this story EXCEPT the ending Wound patterns not matching Rifle casing at the location of shooting Blood from or body of wild man if they can find it Times of death Etc All this would not point to our protagonist being the victim If anything they could’ve said a rabid bear killed them and chased our protag who used the rifle to scare it off or injure it to get away What was the writing thinking about
It was a cool story but its plain stupid that they locked him up just because of the blood and the gun like why would any judge or jury believe the guy with the gun of the ranger would rip the guy apart like a wild animal him having blood on his body and clothes +dna on the dead mans body just reinforcers the story that he fell on the dead ranger and if they did pickup his dna on the body that means that they would find dna from the attacker that rips people up with claws too

Funny how my suspension of disbelief ends at "Dad and Mother and Cubs"

There's no way he would be convicted when the supposed murder weapon would not match at all how the victims died.
Na the justice system in the US is pretty stupid sometimes
Or, how a...jogger, could have..with his "BARE hands" could very nearly tear a man in half.
The police and the court know. Do you believe the public has to?
@@perceptionofreality3074 It was his BEAR hands, duh
@al145 THAT play on words..is truly..un-bearable.
In fact..AS a.."play on words", it just..BEARly qualifies.😂

The most unbelievable part of this story is that the father bear stuck around to raise cubs.

This could happen in the US, and not even for a super nefarious reason or a conspiracy bullshit reason. Sometimes the cops are shit. But yeah
Those saying the second half was silly, I half agree. Obviously he was just framed as a coverup by whoever. But. It was pretty good.
