Once again, a very powerful story. Poor Jasper, indeed. I don’t see anyone saying “Poor Simon.” He’s the one who paid the price. I’m not blaming the dog, to be clear. He was just doing his thing and following his instincts. I just think there is a problem with people caring about what happens to animals, but not humans, even when it’s not fiction. I get it-pets are like children in a lot of ways. They depend on their people and absolutely need to be cherished, and it’s tragic when bad things happen to them. I’m just saying we can feel that way about both.
Thank you so much for subscribing and for following the journey here! I’m thrilled you enjoyed my story on Chilling Tales for Dark Nights and came over to explore more. Skott (NaturesTemper) did an amazing job narrating, and as the author, I’m incredibly grateful for the collaboration and for listeners like you who support these tales. It’s always exciting to collaborate with such talented voices and platforms like Chilling Tales for Dark Nights. I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and I truly appreciate your support!
Thanks for pointing that out, Kay! I totally get how continuity glitches can pull you out of the story-pet peeves like that stick with me too. As the author, I’ll definitely keep an eye on details like that moving forward. I appreciate you catching it and taking the time to let me know. Thanks for giving the story a listen!
Thank you for your comment-Jasper’s ordeal is definitely heartbreaking. As the author, I wanted to highlight the loyalty and vulnerability of his character amidst all the terror. Skott captured that emotional weight beautifully in the narration. I’m glad the story resonated with you, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
Downfall to Skott's voice, I'm a retired Army Ranger and me hearing loss has made him just about un-hearable even with my hearing aids now that I'm 54. Dirty Work Inc is my favorite story. Dr. CREEPEN too. I really miss his channel's stories while I fall asleep each nite. Miss your bedtime stories man.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Johnny. I’m sorry to hear that Skott’s voice is difficult to hear with your hearing loss-I can imagine how frustrating that must be, especially with such a strong connection to these bedtime stories. It’s amazing to hear that Dirty Work Inc is one of your favorites, and I’m grateful to have been part of stories you’ve enjoyed. Thank you for your service and for taking the time to share this with me. I hope you find more tales that bring you the same comfort and enjoyment!

Thanks for another great narration, Sor Skott. Just heard your narrations features on the recent CTFDN podcast. Thank you for your honesty, Cassandra-it’s definitely a tough call, and I think many people might feel the same in that situation. Skott’s narration really brought the intensity of those moments to life. As the author, I appreciate your kind words and am glad you enjoyed the story, even if poor Jasper’s predicament tested some limits!
lol. Leaving the phone at home definitely adds an extra layer of irony, doesn’t it? Sometimes, even Gen Z can get caught off guard! As the author, I love hearing these little observations-thanks for listening and sharing your humor! 😅
Killing dogs in horror films and fiction is such a cheap, cowardly way of generating a kill count. Dogs are more loyal and compassionate than most humans and just better beings in general. Sometimes, the death of a dog is needed to drive a plot forward, like in The Thing or John Wick. Most often, it's extraneous and inconsequential to the plot and done purely for shock value, like in Damnation Game. I'm going to write a creepypasta about a horror writer who kills off dogs and cats in all his stories, and eventually dies a very slow, painful, drawn-out death by his fictional animal fodder, who have become corporeal.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Wes! I completely understand your perspective-dogs hold a special place in our hearts, and their loss in fiction can feel unnecessary or upsetting when not handled thoughtfully. I want to clarify that Jasper didn’t die in this story, though I appreciate your concerns about how pet deaths are used in horror. I aimed to show Jasper’s courage and loyalty without taking it to that extreme, but I know the topic can be sensitive. By the way, your idea for a creepypasta is fantastic-a meta take on the trope would be fascinating to read. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for listening!
Good sir, your efforts have enriched many a year by melding story to voice... but what is this? Are we battling the algorithms and ais in some new way? If I'm late to the briefing, my ears are open, but....huh? We mortal mammals (for now) are typically fickle creatures, despite our best attempts otherwise. Are we now truly expected to careen hither-and--thither upon the precipice of our cheaply-bought thrones simply to enjoy a quality tale? I express it as such because Scott/Nature's Temper does not read every poor work he wanders across, but because he reliably tells stories worth hearing.

I couldn’t get past the fact that Simon isn’t a woman’s name yet Scott decided to use his “woman’s voice” to narrate it. Just bizarre.
