Thanks for watching all our videos folks! You're the best!
THANK YOU! My sweetheart and I despaired over our $300+ purchase when it made weak coffee. I just calibrated as per your video: it ground 16 gm instead of 24. I dialed 16 in and it made perfect coffee!! Thank you so much!! ❤🎉😊
Thank you for this post! I was getting terrible coffee quality and it all came down to the correct calibration! Life saver, I was about to toss this darn thing in the trash is was so frustrated! 🤙🏼
thanks for this. Mine read 11g instead of 28. Reran it after calibration and it only went up a gram. This was after cleaning EVERYTHING. ugh, after 3 years I'm almost out of options with this thing that has been so good to us.
Well that's nice
great video, for some reason even with grind level 1, it seems too coarse. I only have a few days with this machine so I would be curious to know if someone else has this issue.
good video.. 12.5 though? are you sure you had that in grams? the default setting is 24 and every bean I calibrate is plus or minus a few ounces. those are some dry beans you have! :)
I watched your review video last week, So I went to website and purchased a Machine. I set grind control to 3. 12 cups of water. I set strength to 5. the gold filter is over flowing with ground into the craft. will this calibration help stop getting over flowing grounds into the coffee?
I haven't been able to fix this.
Mine only grinds 8 grams ever time no matter what coffee beans I use.
i left coffee grounds in the filter area after making coffee and i had forgotten to put the basket in that area and it was left in there about a month without being cleaned ( I have another coffee pot so it was forgotten about) did I ruin my Breville grind and brew?
Is that calibrated on a pot or cup? Or does it matter?
This is a terrific feature and helpful video. However, I am having a problem where the machine grinds far too much coffee, regardless of setting. For example, in the calibration, it ground 52g of coffee, though the maximum entry for calibration was 44g. It grinds too much and overfills the basket, regardless of strength setting. Are you familiar with any solutions to this issue?
My issue was that a bean had gotten stuck and the hopper was not properly seated, so it did not close properly and would feed too much coffee in every operation. Removing the hopper and upper burr, cleaning out grounds and beans, and reinstalling the hopper and ensuring it was seated properly resolved the issue.
What if my breville grinds all the beans in the hopper?
It won’t stop
I had this issue. The hopper was locked in place, but I had accidentally forced it locked, not seated properly (there was a coffee bean or two under it). The effect was that a little cover that opens and closes to control flow of beans could not close properly and remained open, feeding unlimited coffee beans into the grinder. When trying to calibrate, it would grind 60g of coffee!
The solution was to carefully remove the hopper again and upper burr and extra beans, clean it out, and reassemble, making sure the hopper is properly seated and the lock/unlock knob can turn (which means the little door to control flow of grounds can turn).
Is there a way to disable the grinder so that it just brews the already ground coffee ? Thanks!
Never mind. There is actually a way...I found out...This machine amazes me. It's like the Tesla of the coffee makers...
yes
Been using this machine daily for 6 months and it makes great coffee. Unfortunately it requires cleaning the chute regularly (once a week). The thermal carafe is not on a heated pad and requires a 90 degree or more angle to pour coffee. Its not the greatest for $300.
Angela Salvato I have a different machine and I have to do the same ... all of them require cleaning..
The coffee stays hot for hours in the carafe and is a much better method for good tasting coffee than a heating pad.
hi, do you know how i can get this machine to grind more coffee??? so far i hate this machine!
Follow the calibration steps, but tell the machine it ground less coffee than it actually did. That way it will give you more, resulting in a stronger cup!
i can't even do that its dispensing so little it doesn't even let me dial below what it has been pre set for.
Could the grinder be clogged?
I'm with John, I hate this machine and have spent a fortune for something that I grind separately now. John did you ever get it figured out to grind enough to make a full pot?
Barri and John, It sounds to me like you need to clean the chute where the beans come from the grinder into the basket. I do this about every 3 weeks, I think the reason is the oil from the beans clog the chute. It's a simple thing to do. To get the disc to rotate so you can get to the chute you will need to remove the bean hopper and unplug the unit from the receptacle then plug the unit pack in. At this point the disc will rotate allowing you to get to the chute. Lots of times mine is 70% closed, I also clean the top of the burr of the grinder while the bean hopper is off. Hope this helps.
Just tried this and it ground 12g of coffee. The lowest I can dial the calibration is 15.5g.
I found that I had to calibrate twice. It gave 16 the first time (and I dialed that in), then I did it again and it did 16 again! I dialed that in. The coffee came out really strong after that! Which is what I wanted
@@TimothyChenAllen I ended up sending it in for repair. It was broken.
@@petermarchut3321 I hope it started making good coffee in the end! We all deserve that
Who realistically is going to do this’?
People with OCD, probably... Oh god I need this
You should have rerun it after the calibration because I bet it would produce 24g of coffee.
The grind is very inconsistent and I find the machine grinds way too much. It tries to calibrate for 24g's but usually only produces 18g even after a couple of calibrations. Setting it to the weakest brew still produces too many grounds. I find the machine a disappointment.
I have this issue, did you find the solution for this problem?
@@saulcruz I did not, and now I'm dealing with a plastic/chemical taste getting into the coffee from this machine. I'll probably sell it this fall. The grinder also requires too much cleaning. It'll be back to a grinder, kettle, thermos, and french press (all stainless).
Awfu machine. It routinely grinds only 7grams of coffee for a 12 oz cup with is about half of the amount needed. There's no way to increase the amount it grinds; you can't even turn the weight calibration that low, it only goes down to 13 grams. AWFUL, HORRIBLE PRODUCT AND COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.
This. 100%.
these two are painful
