    Having been a lineman in my previous life you are always ready to work that much harder when you know you have a quality back who is ready make the cuts and moves that help set up the blocks. The Niners have that with CMC and the linemen are more than happy he is behind them.

      Same with a QB who can deliver the mail.
      Jeff Wilson was running very well at times too.
      A lot of the 49ers success on both run and pass is good blocking schemes.

    Great content! Ever since Bosa joined the team, I've learned that there's so much of the game to appreciate happening without the ball. Its hard to pick up on everything that's happening watching games live and I feel like a lot is missed the cameras focused on the ball. Its great to learn about everything that goes on at the line so keep up the good work!

      The linemen win games. People think it's all about the skill positions but the line is where real football happens.

  • @chanceschaefer2475
    @chanceschaefer2475 2 роки тому +2

    The slingshot block you mention early on is walking a fine line between excellent block and getting called for a hold or block in the back. But regardless, Trent being able to execute just shows how great he really is. Awesome breakdown, it’s hard to see these things while watching live.

    • @beamo1220
      @beamo1220 2 роки тому +2

      I think the key is he doesn't stop the D-lines momentum completely as he is moving with him. If Trent stops and does that it is getting called since his arms are all around him, but since they are moving together, the lineman keeps moving, but Trent pulls just enough to "slingshot" around him and make the block.

    • @LoanwordEggcorn
      @LoanwordEggcorn 2 роки тому

      @@beamo1220 Agree, and that would be the right way to referee it. Trent did not grab and hold, and he didn't move him. He just whipped all the way around him. Trent is crazy talented to be able to move like that.

    • @rudysal1429
      @rudysal1429 2 роки тому

      There is no block in the back inside the tackle box. If there was, guys could just do spin moves and get flagged.

  • @Battleborn357

    The addition of CMC, and starters continually getting healthy, will only open up defenders to leave Deebo, Aiyuk, and Kittle 1 on 1. Arik Armistead coming back will strengthen the pass rush, and Verrett finally got relisted for play. Niners might make the late season push similar to last year

    That Burford play where his head is down I don't fault him too much. His job is to look back at the QB for cadence, then tap the center for the snap count. In this specific case, they were up against the play clock and Jimmy started calling for the ball causing the timing to get thrown off. Almost blame them for breaking the huddle late and not giving themselves enough time to go through the pre-snap

  • @sonnyluna
    @sonnyluna 2 роки тому +1

    The reason burford missed that scoop block is because mike M didn’t give good help with a arm punch like Trent w did on the previous play

    McCaffrey's health will be determined by Shanahan's self-control and discipline to spread the load between Mitchell, CMC and Davis-Price. We all know that Shanahan likes to hitch his trailer to one dude and ride him until he is on the IR. Mostert and Mitchell are perfect examples of that. As good as Shannie's run concepts are, his passing concepts are equally as poor. He regularly puts QBs in situations with no hot read or checkdown available without taking their eyes off pressure from one side. HOF QB Kurt Warner did an excellent breakdown of the 49ers Passing Game problems.

  • @jasonells4116

    The play where Burford got off the ball slow its because he was supposed to tap the center when to hike it but he didn't hear Jimmy demand the snap because of the play clock. With experience and reps with this line he will get bettee

    I'm not sure I would blame Burford for that block. Especially against Donald, there should have been more emphasis for double teams. McG should have done more than just put a hand on Donald. It looks like there should have been more of a strong double team with McG doing more than barely putting an inside hand.

  • @rudysal1429
    @rudysal1429 2 роки тому

    Burford was late on the block for several reasons but you actually need to pay attention. He is responsible for communicating to the center that the QB is ready. So he had to shift his weight and stance. The other issue is that the time was running out as the play calling was late. JG was trying to get the ball snapped asap so Burford was barely getting set when he ball was snapped. They needed to call the play faster.

    A true niner fan here from 1979! I’m happy he’s a niner but he is not close to being the best player in football! He definitely has the ability, but I see too many holding calls, off sides and just plain lazy plays he takes off and gives up sacks! Also he seems to miss 1/4 of every season he has played in SF due to a stinger! Not a real injury…. But this is happening with the majority of players now a days.last year in the NFC championship game against the rams I think he just gave up in the second half. Look at the tape and give your own opinion

He’s not the only one! #69 bigMike, has averaged almost a sack and a half a game he has given up along with a few penalties per game! If we are going to win it all? the line needs to tighten it up big time. They say you win championships with defense but you loose it all with a suspect O line. I just really want to see us healthy and make a run at this whole damn thing! I believe we can win it all. Especially with Jimmy G. under center other than Lance would of done this year…
