this is prison blues and how in gods name did 2 guys from akron ohio capture it. dan is one of the best guitar playres in the last 15 yrs,,he's playing to parts most of the time,,never see why anybody else never notices that,, the keys rule baby !
This is so good that at 1:57 I realised I had started spontaneously cheering. I don't even normally listen to music. But it's a whole different story with this band. I first heard them about a month ago, I am fing SHOCKED by how good they are. Really on another level.
I always go back to this clip. It is EXCELLENT period. I still love the BKs but... I like them raw and unkept. Those people in the record store I want to slap. LOOSIN' up. Damn. I guess they didn't know how lucky they were to witness this?
Grammys:This is obviously a rock band, but we have to nominate Tom Petty, Neil Young, and Jeff Beck because they put out albums last year. Grammy Intern: How about we put them in that category that we reserved for rock bands under 60 years old? I think we used to call it "alternative music" back in the 90s. Grammys:Great Idea
no shit, right!? Rubber Factory is a perfect album to me for sure. Hopefully the next album might be more bluesy and well raw & unkept. "Chulahoma" Jr. Kimbrough's tribute album & Dan's solo album "Keep It Hid" are both right up there too. I NEVER skip a song on my iTunes with ANY of TBK's songs either, thats pretty damn rare.
ya ever been to the riv before.. hows it work.. is the floor open to everyone.. cause its sold out i dont want to get stuck being thrown into the seats
Who filmed this? Where can I get more footage other than this and the footage from "Your Touch" ? D: D: D: This must be like their best performance ever. seriously, I shat my pants.
@9Esnuzan5 I definitely agree with you. I just finished watching a George Carlin special "White people aren't meant to play the blues" I just thought it was witty. I listen to Thickfreakness everyday, its a fantastic album.
As much as I hate the algorithms, they led me to this. Easily the best I've heard of this song.
I miss this old Black Keys
I know right
Gustavo Costa too right...they were great until the 'Brothers' album
@@justinwiggy brothers album was great.
Mohamed Hosam I didn’t rate it.
@@justinwiggy technically you did, from the way you put your sentence together.
I've heard this live quite a few times, and this version is fucking amazing.
the only bad thing I can say about The Black Keys is that I didn't find them soon enough...pure brilliance.
DAN IS A BEAST ON GUITAR!!!!!!!!!
You say this as if it wasn't already known
Thanks for producing real music. Today, we desperately need more! Music is dying
This is an all time performance.
It’s always delivering
This hits harder than the album version. One significant difference is that they’re playing this with a straight rhythm, rather than swung.
2:08 restored my faith in music
So RAW! i love it
2 years later and I still agree
4 years after and i still agree
7 years later and I still agree
Also agree with you 7 months later

god gave so much power to these 2 guys :)
Sometimes, I can't help but envision a mashup of this and "Whole Lotta Love".
Outstanding 😮
This shit rocks!
Blues is strong in this 1

I enjoy watching him play when he's possessed by the guitar.....
Me in my slipknot shirt at 1:03 :)
FredericktheGreat89 you lucky fuck
You should be ashamed of yourself. Triggers me every time i see you in it watching this. Such a waste
@@SuperCragster calm down, it's only music.
LOL at wearing a Slipknot shirt to actual good music.
That crowd have got to be HIPSTERS!!
now THAT.... is emotional drumming
Only Dan and Pat can see and twist the Invisible Knob of Awesomeness...
Good lord, what pedals/amp is he using to get that sound? Absolutely delicious.
This is my favorit song of them!! So awesome!
This is so good that at 1:57 I realised I had started spontaneously cheering.
I don't even normally listen to music. But it's a whole different story with this band. I first heard them about a month ago, I am fing SHOCKED by how good they are. Really on another level.
It helps to watch this video 1492 times over!!
This would go great with The White Stripes' 'Ball and Biscuit'!
If you look at the crowd, you can clearly see one guy's face melting.
That's a sweet Gibson! Sounds like a million bucks!
@NiiickMuse conversely, everyone there was honored to hear them play.... I love them for stuff like this.
Got to meet Dan after the show in Denver last week... im still speachless
it sounds like he's playing 3 different guitar parts at once...fucking badass.
2021 🤠
Damn! I have GOT to see them live! I hope they come to DC soon
Love it!
Holy shit

I always go back to this clip. It is EXCELLENT period. I still love the BKs but... I like them raw and unkept. Those people in the record store I want to slap. LOOSIN' up.
Damn. I guess they didn't know how lucky they were to witness this?

sweetest ibanez ever!
ive never heard drums sound so good
Total squares watchin this awesomeness. I would be spazin out!
i pray they play this song when i see em nye in chicago :)
Looking forward to catching them in Seattle next week. Wish it was a smaller venue but should still rock
I wish cool bands played at my local record shop!
DO not compare this experience with something mainstream from tv, radio, etc - its the premiere league of musical expression.
goddamm this song is ten times better here live than on the album
I would pay to see one other video of this same live performance
Let’s start a tour

Forget the breast and a wing the Black Keys are the best 2 piece ever
TBK @ BONNAROO! WOOOO
that kid with the slipknot shirt is like "fuck i gotta reevaluate my life"
Great Performance. They need to sometimes bring back some non-single oldies
Left and GONDOLALA
my speakers can't play this song loud enough. in fact, i don't think any speakers can. i swear, this song is gonna make me go deaf.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the Jesus with a guitar
Good cover on Beefheart.
If youre high at 2 in the afternoon, get a job.
After a long day of work i love to roll a rillo and jam this shit
so fucking good
its raw as fuck and sooooo good!
Sorry but this is so much better than the original.
agreed
A big inspiration for me. That video is my "Junior Kimbrough"-kiss. Great style for white blues music. SG RIDER
great
whoa. Patrick with no glasses on!!! :-O
mamma ma' k piezz! sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Funny thing about this concert; It was free because it was an In-store performance.
@redmoondelight
No pick. He's using his thumb to hit the bass notes, and his finger to pick the individual notes.
Awesome recording! I really love that. It is better than the Captain Beefheart-thing. One love
ya ever been to the riv before.. hows it work.. is the floor open to everyone.. cause its sold out i dont want to get stuck being thrown into the seats

seriously, I shat my pants.
actually, that's Dan's white 70s Ibanez lawsuit SG with maestro tremolo,
@9Esnuzan5 I definitely agree with you. I just finished watching a George Carlin special "White people aren't meant to play the blues" I just thought it was witty. I listen to Thickfreakness everyday, its a fantastic album.
Akron rules, y'all.
Anyone know which fuzz pedal gets closest to this sound?
this makes me feel ooey gooey on the inside ... yum
The ice cube album behind Dan lol
@canoncola's comment is the best comment i ever seen about the black keys! lol
@chaseduran He's picking up the slide
@BluesmaNeedham that ain't a Gibson. It's an Ibanez lawsuit SG
FUCK I NEED to play like, Dan!! I will give blood for someone to teach me the ropes!
