damn i can honestly say that this is one of the most badass songs today. he has an awesome voice and it leaves me feeling a little bit more epic everytime after I finish listening to it.
Elijah Aguirre i have listen to it again and maybe you are right, they slow down a little bit, its almost nothing, but yeah they slow down, even on the studio version it is the same, i didnt notice it before
It's not dying because we don't love it. It's dying because the music industry is a controlled part of media entertainment, and rock and roll isn't what they choose to push to the kids these days. It's all BS.
Black Keys played one of my favorite sets at SxSW this year. Definitely one of the best live bands in the US right now. Brothers is a SICK album - probably my favorite new LP of 2010. It's right there with The Big Come Up.
Perfect , just like the studio version . These guys have style , and charisma , reminds The Beatles, not only because the Ludwig drums , the Dan's guitar stripe , and Dan n' Patrick clothes n boots , but the energy in stage , playin with passion , enjoyin the moment !!! This is the best band that i 've seen latey. I'm drooling !!!
Letterman really liked it - he doesn't always react that way to a musical guest and you can tell they earned his respect just by his attitude.... Legit.
I saw them at the Ed Sullivan Theater for their second Letterman appearance and prior to that I had never heard of them..and ever since I saw them live I will always be a fan. They are fantastic!
I saw them 2 days ago in Lisbon. I stood 9 hours on my feet, And it rained all day, but damn!, it was the best hours of my life. And when a saw them comming in, I almost cry. I was right in front of them. Love for The Black Keys. Peace Out
I can't go one day without playing a Black Keys youtube video, and this one is awesome. Can't think of another band I'd like to see live as much as these guys.
Like he literally just learned a 2/4 beat yesterday. Also, if you watch other performances on they do on Letterman, Dave always messes with Carney at the end. It's hilarious.
Pat grooves his ass off! He has his own style and feel, and he comes up with parts nobody else would have... He isn’t a technician and that’s one of the things I love about him.
I will always love the black keys no matter what. I got to enjoy their laid back style since 04 but now its a new decade, a new Black Keys. Popular culture is ready for them now, and when I'm and old man. I can brag to my children how I heard The Black Keys for the first time live and have seen them over 10 different times.
IMO these guys are much better than jack white, but Dan's more detached stage presence has made them less popular. He gets into the music but he doesn't really engage the audience so he doesn't get the attention white does despite being his equal musically and a better songwriter. Just my opinion.
You're opinion is irrelevant. How strange it is that Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Dave Grohl and countless other legendary rock elders seem to regard Jack White as one of the most significant musical artists of our time. Bizarre, eh..?
It's true my opinion means nothing. It's also true Jack is a better guitarist and more befitting of a generational act. I just like the Black Keys more.
Joseph Schocker Jack White has been in the music scene longer, so he has received that level of recognition from such big names. I believe the Black Keys will receive just as much, if not more, praise once they've been musically exposed to the public for a longer period of time
I started listening to them a few months before brothers came out. My favorite band. I am going to be relentlessly excited when the next one comes out.
i like theyre change better. suits, blues with a jazzy twist. its elegant yet raw. i love it. when i hear this song i think of a smoky blues/jazz club.
the black keys are probably, scratch that, they are the best band nowadays, most people who listen to their music know what im saying... their albums are the albums that you buy for one or two songs, and then you end up liking the other songs more than hits... true talent... respect and admiration
"Beautiful drums, are these yours"?
"No"
"Oh, those are nice"
Oh god , you are so cute
He says it to every drummer on his show lol hilarious !
Are those yours or rentals?
"This kid can whistle" If I was him & Letterman said that to me, it would be on my tombstone.
I would've slapped letterman
@@obitouchiha3990 I would of said harmony korine is my mate
@@obitouchiha3990 wow, you are such a bad boy ^^
@@Caarmelo I would put my balls on his drum set
The song that catapulted this band. This song was everywhere when it came out
gotta love a band that sounds just as good live as they do in the studio
It is amazingly rare that a live band can do what these guys do in the studio, on stage.
damn i can honestly say that this is one of the most badass songs today. he has an awesome voice and it leaves me feeling a little bit more epic everytime after I finish listening to it.

this is the most 2011 comment ever
@tylrr2476
I love the moment when he said "It's 2011ing time" and 2011'nd all over the place
@@tylrr2476 how
My boi the drummer looks like he’s about to be late to an important Microsoft business meeting...
He was. He's now a Kirby vacuum salesman.
Howard Wolowitz,Quentin Tarantino,Jeff Goldblum and Ramsey Bolton are a hell of a band!
wolf870626 one of the most random collection of names I've ever seen in my life
Did you mean Howard Wolowitz, Jimmie Dimmick, David Levinson and Ramsey Bolton?
Are you trying to say Patrick Carney looks like Goldblum? Because clearly he's Robert Carradine if he's anyone.
Funny thing is that Howard Wolowitz(Simon Helberg) and Dan Auerbach are jewish, maybe that's why they look alike.
@@theonlyrealjohn2110 Buddy Holly, all the way, man.
goddamn I will never get sick of this song
Proves that great music still exists!!!
My favorite part is nearing the end when they slow down the beat
They dont realy slow down in fact , they just change the guitar work a little bit, but youre right its the best part of the song
Elijah Aguirre i have listen to it again and maybe you are right, they slow down a little bit, its almost nothing, but yeah they slow down, even on the studio version it is the same, i didnt notice it before
I have an earworm since 3 days from that !
me too!

Hey hey, my my
Even their whistling is live!!! Lol I love these guys!!!! Thank God for good music.
I think it's the best live version of ''Tighten Up'' !
This song is so ridiculously good. I've listened to it SO many times and it still amazes me.
These guys are seriously good. And their heart seems to be in the right place.
Black Keys played one of my favorite sets at SxSW this year. Definitely one of the best live bands in the US right now. Brothers is a SICK album - probably my favorite new LP of 2010. It's right there with The Big Come Up.
Holy shit Dan has some amazing control over his voice.
GOD, when the song breaks down at the end i literally can't stop myself from rocking out.
these guys are awesome

Can't believe I shook hands with these two! FUKIN AWESOME I GOT TO MEET THEM!
Letterman really liked it - he doesn't always react that way to a musical guest and you can tell they earned his respect just by his attitude.... Legit.
People still make good music today, It might be a little hard to find but it's out there!
Rock on Black Keys! \m/
Damn, I love the way he plays that guitar. Such fervent passion!
I love when the blacks keys play live, it really shows their true talent.
"This kid can whistle" ahhaha , love their performance!! :D hope they come soon to Argentina!
reza conmigo para que eso pase
I still love them❤❤ one of my favorites is Sinister kid 💯💯💯
Fuck these guys could really bring a soulful yet dirty gritty sound.
, Guitar + Drums , Keys and Bass + Good Voice = Amazing music
Carney is a decent drummer with tons of love for the music and it shows. He's not trying to be the next Pert just trying to do the music justice.
Pert? Have you ever heard Niel Pert Shuffle, neither have I.
Everyone always expects everyone to be the greatest ever like if you arent the greatest you suck. Its annoying hes a good drummer and that's that.
Well I mean just like Ringo, sit in the music don’t take it over. Unless the music calls for it.
You can't fake passion. Carney's got passion.
I believe this performance should be a bench mark for all current day live performers
Oh my gosh they're amazing live, Auerbach's vocals live are just on spot :O
I saw them at the Ed Sullivan Theater for their second Letterman appearance and prior to that I had never heard of them..and ever since I saw them live I will always be a fan. They are fantastic!
Ive been randomly whistling this for years and finally realized where I got it.
how could anyone dislike these guys?
they are undeniable ! ! !

Most of all ❤
"Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thats it. Thats what were looking for!" lmao
Once again showing that a solid groove goes a long way.
excellent drummer
Thsi is one of the best Rock N Roll songs I've heard in a long time, the beat is so intoxacating, the black keys are now one of my favorite bands.
Letterman the only one who had The Black keys on late night?
Conan. A few of those performances are on here.
I absolutely love this song, he has a great voice... such nerve.
They sound 100% better live than on the album
It's not about sounding better... it's just about being (slight) different, but as good as they are in the studio as they are alive!
I can't go one day without playing a Black Keys youtube video, and this one is awesome. Can't think of another band I'd like to see live as much as these guys.
I wanted lurh, I needed lurh;)
My fav Black Keys song on Letterman is still I Got Mine, amazing performance
Why does Patrick Carney always look like he's just picked up sticks for the first time?
Like he literally just learned a 2/4 beat yesterday. Also, if you watch other performances on they do on Letterman, Dave always messes with Carney at the end. It's hilarious.
The Black Keys have been my favorite band for several years now, but there's no denying that Patrick is the Ringo of drumming in our generation...
I'm glad someone else can see that. They're such a good band but a bad drummer
Pat grooves his ass off! He has his own style and feel, and he comes up with parts nobody else would have... He isn’t a technician and that’s one of the things I love about him.
ForObviousReason ringo was a great drummer
Love this band!
I didn't realise Howard from Big Bang theory was so good at singing
***** he's trying to be funny

Bloody fantastic. What a band, fantastic live!!

Letterman: Beautiful drums, are these yours?
Pat: No, No
Too funny!
How is that funny?
First rate and top notch. Black Keys rock. Plain and simple.
Mclovin tocando bateria é foda
great song . . . very great
When did Tim Roth start a rock band?

They may just be the best band around right now
Letterman : hello, hello.
Beautiful drums, are these yours?
Patrick: No .
Letterman : Those are nice,

This is fantastic

Cheers for the kind of music thats Amazing in Studio Version and f@scking insane in Live Version !!

Yeah, something off.
I caught this the night it originally aired and it's still good!!!
If I could punch any drummer from the past 20 years in the face as hard as I could, it would be patrick carney.

I just heard this song the other day for the first time, diggin it big time. Good sound.
I've watched this like a hundred times and never heard letterman say "nice drums. are these yours?" epic
love this group--really fresh sound but reminds me of sixties music--love it!
So much raw talent and creativity
These guys are amazing musicians. Tight!!! Love it.

i get chills when he says "tighten up on your reins"
the best transition i've heard in while .. the black keys are amazing!!
They are awesome! This song kicks asss!
I get goosebumps every time I listen to this.
They can't help dancing to their own music: That's what REAL musicians do!
Talent, is what I see, here before me.... 🎶🙋🏼♂️
they give the future of music big hope-- and the present too
