Hi. To help some of you out, Tim's bridge pickup was damaged when we did the recording and we didn't have time to get it fixed properly, so we used gaffa tape to hold it in place. The guitar he's using is a Patrick Eggle Berlin (I think) and the amp is a 150W Engl Invader.

Stu is the guy who isn't afraid to mess up a little bit just to portray his true passion for the music. Henry is perfectly practiced but I kind of feel like he isn't completely absorbed in the emotions like Stu. Then again he plays and sings infinitely more difficult parts, like Tim, which I suppose requires complete concentration. That's what I like about the best rock groups today like these guys. It ain't about the drugs or sex anymore, it's about writing the best music you can, music that requires you to be an orchestra level musician, just in a rock setting. Guys like Buckethead, Rick Graham, Nick Johnston, etc. also exemplify that

I still can't comprehend the impeccable timing Tim has when they come out of that final break of And I'll Tell You For Why. Thought on record it's definitely 2 guitar tracks...but he still does it perfectly live. Dude just kicks off the distortion, drops the pick, and starts finger-tapping the main riff for a couple finals bars all in basically a micro-second. Seriously...my brain can't switch gears that fast, let alone my fingers.

    So summer's here again
    and like children,
we run around these streets at night
    to find
    both solace and confusion.
    Too late to try
    our concience clear.
    Hold on to tight.
    Our hair crimson in,
    the street light,
    sunlight glow.
    Never forget
    what we shared
    cos promises were never enough
    for us.
    So here's to romance
    and hot summer nights.
    Walking through tall grass,
    there's safety in here
tonight we lay down and watch the stars collide.

    what we shared
    cos promises were never enough

This branch of "experimental" can be considered Math Rock
What you must be entranced by are the guitar playing styles that the guitarist is using
In fact, lots of other bands have been picking up on this style: Giraffes? Giraffes!, Ghosts and Vodka, and Minus The Bear are a few who use these techniques
Other math rock bands include Toe, Pele, and such.
