@moonboogie N8 actually it isn't, it's a standard fender jaguar bass that hank modified himself. The top two strings are bass and the rest guitar strings, so i guess it is a self made vi 😆I read it on hanks Instagram page once. But you won't find this model anywhere
The guy that's announcing/leading this is incredible. It's nice to have a normal person be sincere and joke around instead of acting like a try-hard/cool guy. Also.. TTNG's performance was incredible. (understatement) I keep coming back to this session. Thanks!
They're all great, but Blake (I think is his name) is one of the best in the business. Clever, passionate and relaxed. I've actually discovered a couple of bands simply by checking out the sessions he's hosting.
The chemistry this guy has with the bands too is just beautiful to see. It's always nice watching someone who loves what they do in action, and everyone in that room loves what they do.
the short scale bass VI + a classic tele gotta be one of the most simple yet interesting set ups for a band ive ever seen, this is very close to a piano left hand + right hand sound alike
Fun fact: That bass used to be a regular 4-string shortscale Jaguar bass but Hank converted it to a 6-string. He even has a video about it on his own YT channel (search for Hank Tremain)
@@Law0fRevenge i have seen it on vimeo while searching for his setup, crazy stuff, i have also seen a few comments on people complaining about the bass VI tone, this must be why his bass sounds so good, he is still using normal bass' hardware, while other bass VIs tend to have a pickup setup that intentionally make it sounds like a guitar, oh and also his custom pedal made specially for his bass, the man is like a macgyver of music
I don't even think they are touring anymore im not sure if they are making any new music. regardless they have my support. they are soo good its to bad I kind of discovered them a little to late to be able to see them but here's hoping I do one day

@@paolo.delacc watch and listen again. You can hear the bass. He just plays on the bass in such a unique way it’s as if he writes some riffs for it that’d be on a guitar. Look at the gauge of his strings. Listen to the mix. :) I never thought about a 6 string bass with higher strings instead of low and this band definitely makes me want to rig mine up.

What about non-human organisms? Somebody has to be the dog , the bird , the ant and so on , right? This kind of thinking leads me to believe that as a species we should be concerned with taking care of each other as well as the environment that we depend on. I would maybe have been in this same mindset a few years ago; so I can't really fault you for your opinion. I got real into math rock, emo, screamo, and some midwest stuff in my late teens though. Let me tell you that there are some terrible vocalists out there. TTNG is definitely one of the best out there in a number of ways, and I really enjoy his(Henry Tremain's) vocal patterns. He is actually the vocalist(and also bassist I think) for Pennines who is also fantastic.

So... Left Aligned is about a Hank's friend who died. After reading the lyrics, i really think that this guy committed suicide. The verse: "Running up the walls, Sick, stressed and all regretful Of what life could have been. Tired, stretched and thin, Keep it in. You're rolling off the rails, Lights signal fails, amber's tail Of compensation claims, Screeching brakes and loud crashing sounds" makes me cry every time, it touch my heart deeply. I absolutelly love this band.
Actually, it's not about that. It's about a motorcycle accident and I knew the guy too. But not as well as many of my friends did. Very sad times but his memory lives on.

@@robertcrane910 oh it's cool that you know him! as I said, TTNG has been my favorite band for about two years, last March they should have come to Sardinia for a concert at the Rite Of Spirng, but sadly they couldn't, because of the covid. they don't do many live shows here in italy (i live in piedmont).
I've always been in love with that bass ever since I've seen it used by them. Sadly I've tried to search for it but I only found the classic model with three single coil pickups. (for whom didn't notice, this one is a six string bass with two higher strings and PJ pickups with the single coil between the split and the neck) I've only seen it once in a guitar shop a few years ago, it shouldn't be too expensive being a Squier but something suggests me that it will be quiet hard to find it when I'll be in the right conditions to buy one.
That bass was definitely modified. Squier never made a bass like that. They made the bass vi with the jaguar pickups but never a pj squier jaguar bass with guitar tuners and strings.

Yeah he does have videos about it. If you want to take on a project, it's a homemade bass VI with a Squier Jaguar bass with a new tuners (and filling in the bass tuner holes in the headstock and drilling in holes for guitar tuners), bridge, and nut. I believe he also changed out the pots, but I think the pickups are original

I have watched the Audiotree sessions for Covet and TTNG and so far the two presenters have been really lovely people!
I watch this set at least once every couple of weeks. Please bring TTNG back!
