TTNG performing "Whatever, Whenever" from their album "Disappointment Island" Video: Devin Yuceil & Niall Coffey Audio: Thomas Le Beau Morley A Milktime Production
That drummers the shit. Like he's playing guitar math instrumentals with a beat dont know how to explain it. They are my idols Thank you Ttng for your contribution to music in this lifetime
just commenting to say that I revisit this particular video more than any of theirs, and I always think how fortunate we are to be alive for such amazing music. TTNG being a prime example.
AMEN to this wholesome comment. I just discovered them this year a couple of weeks ago and they quickly became a favorite and important influence on my guitar playing haha. Just blessed this exists overall.
@@midwesterntakeoverI’ve recently sought out the time signatures through apps like muse score, and they have the first several measures (pickup in 2/4) one bar of 8/8, one of 7/8, 1 bar of 8/8 again, 1 bar of 4/8, then the good portion of 4/4
Video was lacking for a live music shoot. As for the audio engineer, it was the most cleanest live session I’ve ever heard in my life. I thought it was audio from the studio recording.
I feel like this is the perfect register for Henry to singing in. Not straining to belt it out or forcing falsetto. Just chill and powerful enough for the few high notes he's gotta hit from time to time.
can we just pause for a while and meditate for the lyrics of this song how i died by the living man time passed and so did i a frog in the throat, the feelings of the sleeves in an ill-fitting coat: i am nothing of note i’m just fine most the time i’ll get by thoughts never teethed by the unconceived how bleak sleep so unsound in this self-imposed cell oh well decorate floors/flaws with fabric dug too deep to break a habit berried in a burrow on borrowed time this hole on the whole is mine i’m just fine most the time i’ll get by i’ll survive i’ve been losing the taste for living biting my tongue now it’s bleeding biding my time just to give in laying awake for days changing the sheets on my grave re-pointing the paths i’ve paved re-living mistakes i’ve made come back to philippines!
The line "I’ve been losing the taste for living" really hits me. I think a big part of the delivery but I love how simple it is and how much it sums up.
Devin Yuceil, the singer of Delta Sleep, filmed this in the same place Delta Sleep shot their video for Strongthany. I’m nerding out so hard right now!
look, dont get me wrong, its stiff competition, but hank is the most impressive member of this band. the instrumentalism is enough on its own, but to sing over that in real time... goddamn
It is very stiff competition and Hank is amazing but the technical ability Tim has along with his knack for writing guitar parts puts him above Hank for me
One of the greatest things I've ever heard, and that have truly touched my heart. Over the years I keep coming back here, to this performance in specific. And it's always just as marvelous. I've spent countless nights crying myself to sleep either just watching this or listening to it. Sometimes just sitting in the middle of my room in the dark with nothing but this blasting through. I never thought I'd ever see them live, but I was lucky they came to my country in the middle of nowhere earlier this January, I'll forever remember that day. This band has done so much for me emotionally and musically.
Came from a stream and they were playing this song so I had to see the video for myself. So much talent, mixed very well, the vocals are great for being live-this is awesome!
Holy smokes. I had this video on my watch later list for ages and I clicked on it by accident but it was a hell of a beautiful accident. I had only heard one song by them, from the Audiotree session and really liked it but never really paid attention to anything else. This is something else. This is definitely something else. That outro was a religious experience
This is the song that introduced me to TTNG, everything about this song is sick AF, instrumentally, vocally, Lyrically, everything- and what’s even crazier is that all of TTNG I’ve listened to, it is all amazing. Sad to see when this was posted, and nothing of significant value to live shows 😞 Some years to late for that, but never to late to enjoy the sound art of this band. Thank you for that ❤️❤️
I can't even express HOW MUCH I like this band. Their sound is amazing and every instrument, voice included, blend perfectly creating such an atmosphere in every fucking song they play that's almost lke, next level music. Relaxing but exciting at the same time. This is my favourite band. By FAR.
For those that are TTNG and Delta Sleep fans as well: look at the description and discover who recorded the video. Incredible video and audio quality! Amazing!

I think this song really demonstrates the lead guitarist skill. And I'm not talking on the broad notes he's playing. It's his phrasing, arguably on the most difficult part of guitar of guitar playing. It's not just playing the part, it's playing the part the way he plays it, with all the idiosyncrasies and techniques. I think I can speak to this with some small bit of authority to because I've covered a few of TTNG's other songs. And I don't think I did incredible or anything but I think it really demonstrates how good he is, like just wow.
OK maybe I'm late to this reality... Jaguar bass has filled in tuning peg holes, then retrofit to six string, and a ty-rap string tree! - it sounds incredible. The pickup poles are just anywhere... somehow it works. Wonderful.
This is an amazing song, and performance. The lyrics hit deep, and the instrumentals are top notch, as TTNG always delivers! The camera work is stunning, and the audio EQ style is definitely unique, but everything feels so connected and harmonious! It's a total blast watching this session. I sure have a lot to learn from these guys to apply to my own playing, truly unique and outstanding!
This is so beautiful. Just as good if not better than the album version!! I wish the guitar was a bit more sparkly but the drums and bass sound so full and warm
I love how the vocals are not too upfront in the mix. You get the feel it's just part of the instruments, it's more organic, homogeneous.
Thanks!

a song to learn fractions! crazies 15/8 and 12/8 at the last part
