He's definitely ready for blue. Very solid. Of course he was at a disadvantage nearly the whole time but that is because you are better. Does not negate his skill.
"I just want to put as little effort into it as possible, because i feel the technique is there." - always a fan of your approach sir. i'm noticing slowly that the higher the level the slower people go, it's like we are driving down a road and if you go too fast you will miss the exits. great stuff as always. 🙏🏻 Hope your dad's okay.
The part where he is trying to pass your guard and you threaten the Kimora, is gold. I've just started using this 👍👍 Any more videos on how to stop the pass from this position would be useful.
Great vid. Please keep them coming. I had to quit BJJ due to injury. At 51 and a three strip white belt, I had my neck seize up, rib cartilage dislocated, back injured and muscle strain all over my body. I was having to roll out of bed. The last straw was when my neck seized up while trying to shoulder check in the car. Perhaps another life. Stay on the matts as long as you can and enjoy. I will keep watching the videos waiting for you to execute a helicopter arm bar. . . 🙂Stay healthy!
Wow I am sorry to hear that! All of our days are numbered sadly. lol. That is what makes our time so valuable. I've had a laundry list of injuries early on and I am hoping with the channel I can help others avoid them
I'm sure you do this as well, but I find a really useful grip in butterfly on my side is my bottom hand on their wrist, and my top hand is cupping their tricep under their armpit. Lachlan Giles does this a lot, it's kind of in-between the two-on-one on the wrist and the kimura. It is more secure than the wrist grip, but not as threatening as the kimura.
@ thx. I am not sure. His explanation was that I had to roll for the knee bar…which I was doing. I talked the head ref who then said it was reaping. Nothing made sense. I just buy my lip but they knew it was botched. Very frustrating but on to the next step
I wish your Dad a speedy recovery.
"I'm at the point now when the round ends I just look at who exerted the most effort."

It wasn't effortless to keep him at a disadvantage. Kudo's to him on his well deserved Blue belt

I can literally watch these videos over and over and learn something new Everytime..
That really is amazing. I am still surprised I have a channel. Thank you.
Prayers for your father. Hope your time on the mat can provide you with a little stress relief too.
Thank you I really appreciate that. If it weren't for him I would not have the understanding of practice that leads to skill development.
Thanks!
Thank you Carl! I appreciate that
I love the technicality and effortlessly of your sweeps, I hope I can get there one day
Came for the jiu jitsu. Left with the mind toxin cure. Thank you sir.
Congrats on 20k 🫡

Why did you indicate for him to re-establish his grips but then grab his wrists?
Wishing your father a speedy recovery
Thank you! I was just giving him the leg position.

What makes someone ready for blue belt in your opinion?
Showing up enough may do the trick.
Someone who understands the basics of the language of Jiu-jitsu. Just showing up is not enough.
I feel related to your training partner haha. Greetings from Argentina!!
haha you have a similar style or you look like him?! lol. Thank you and greeting from NYC!
Blessings for your dad. I just competed at no gi pans. Got dqed for what I believe was legal still. I did upload it and would love your thoughts.
I just watched it before I saw this comment. Amazing leg entry off the throw. What was the DQ over? Reaping?
