  • We got to spend half a day with George Robinson at Robinson Cattle Company. He has been cutting silage and took the time to show us his process. We are throwing around the idea of cutting some silage ourselves in the coming years. He mostly does wheat and rye silage. He has been cutting silage for many years, and he has come a long way. When he first started cutting silage years ago, it took about 60 days from start to finish. Through growth and equipment advances, it now takes him about 10 days.

George is such a wonderful person. Lots of love from India, my grandfather was a farmer and although I am a software engineer, I love farming.. I learned a lot from these videos. Keep it coming.

You can always start out with silage bags if you don't have a silage pit. that way you don't need a 150 hp tractor to pack it and it will keep just like a pit if not better

Thanks for the tip! We have talked about doing that and it may be the route we go starting out.

I'm just a random dude from Europe and have nothing to do with farming except for the fact that my dad ran chicken farms for about 45 years. I have no idea how I came across your channel but these are my go to videos to watch while I eat or work now, so keep it up my dudes :)

The cattle eat fresh daily and don't mess up the pastures fields. Cut and store while you can. Nice video guys.

Thank you! George had a good crew helping him. Definitely not easy navigating through a hilly field and keeping up with the chopper

Thank you! We thought so too. Learned a lot about silage in a short amount of time.
