- In this video we are going to check out the differences between these speakers:
- Celestion Vintage 30 - 16 Ohm
- Celestion Creamback Neo - 8 Ohm
- Celestion G12 Heritage (Marshall) - 16 Ohm
- Laney HH 1280 (IRT 112 Cab) - 8 Ohm
- Eminence Jet City - 16 Ohm
You just helped me buy a cabinet. I really like the sound of the Laney as well. Thanks man!
You're welcome bro!!!! I'm glad it was helpful
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 Sounded great! Got that Laney cab!
@@joshuakincheloe You're gonna love it. The tone, the handles, everything!!!
Thanks for the video, man. Excelente job. In the video my preferences go to Laney and V30. I have an open cabinet with 2x12 Laney 1265 running a Randall Diavlo 1W and is fantastic... But the sound is darker than in this video.
The Laney speaker is fantastic!!. The cabinet used in this video is also open back, but since it is a different cabinet, different size and different amp is not accurate to compare them. This was recorded close mic'ed as well, so it would be even harder. Thanks for watching 🙂
After your video sir, I didn't hesitate right away and ordered a 2x12 Lenny Customs(1265), it's not 1280, but the sound is also surprisingly good, all of a sudden, I was surprised at how distinctly high and bright the sound of this (sound speaker) was! Amazing video and good luck with the development of the channel, you deserve it!
Thanks my friend, I appreciate it! I'm glad it was helpful. Many years ago I wanted to buy the Laney 2x12 but I didn't because it didn't come with celestions so I passed and got something else. Then I got the chance to get the 1x12 and couldn't be happier with the sound and the design of the cabinet
Super surprised at the Laney with that said i know the heavy cream backs sound tighter.I just seen a post for a Laney h1280 and I think now im going to pick it up. So great video just what i needed. Yoo you rock dude!
Thanks man I appreciate that and I'm glad that it helped you
One of the best speaker run downs I’ve seen. We’ll done.
Thanks my friend!!!!!
The Laney was a great surprise
Yes!!! that Laney rocks!!
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 definitely! I'm becoming quite fan of Laney products over the time. Much lower profile than many other brands, but great bang for the buck! Btw do you happen to demo the IRT 112 cab somewhere?
@@alanst.4417 No I haven't demo it but it is awesome, closed back and oversized so it sounds thick even though it's just a 1x12
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 great to hear that, I was hoping so, considering the size and reported build quality. I have one on the way with a V-type (the anniversary G112V version, but otherwise similar). Looking forward to the sounds...
@@alanst.4417 I have heard good comments about those V type Celestions. I tried the new Marshall JCM 800 studio combo, which I believe it comes with that V speaker and it sounded great so hopefully you chose right 👍
Laney for the win here IMO, incredible value! Tight and well defined, but also beefier than the V30 to my ears. As much as I don't like the V30 on its own too much, it sits really well in the mix and shares the 2nd place with the G12 Heritage for me.
Yeah right??? I got the Laney speaker in an Ironheart 1x12 cabinet and replaced it immediately with my British V30 I've been using for some years. I thought I would sell the Laney but man, it sounds very good so I kept it for one of my combo amps 😅
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 good that you didn't sell it right away! No wonder though, as the Laney (HH) speakers are seen as a cheap noname alternative by most including myself. I replaced the smaller magnet HH1265 in my TI15 combo, too, but that one lacked bass IMO and I wanted a more "greenbacky" sound. Maybe I'll keep an eye if someone's replacing this 1280 as you were going to and buy it as an alternative... It's a steal!
@@alanst.4417 totally man!
Great video very helpful !!!!
Thank you!
damn the HH shines in the mix
Yeaahhh, it sounds great. I decided not to sell it after I shot this video
I prefer the Heritage G12 overall - the Laney HH seems almost identical - best full range of tone and tighter bottom end - fun demo
Yeah. I enjoyed it too. The HH sounds really good, in this demo I would say its my favorite but I need to try it playing live to see if it cuts better than the V30. Thanks for watching!!
Celestion greenbacks in my guitar cab. WOW what an Upgrade. I highly recommend them. My Jetcity 22h with 4x12 Celestion green backs = AWESOME !
Yeah I got a greenback like a month ago, I wish I could have had it when I shot it. If you have a jet city 22 stay tune because in a couple weeks I'm going to compare the stock jca22 with my latest modded one 😎
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017, subbed and clicked the bell. I will be watching. Cheers
@@1peanut Thanks!! And Cheers
I'd be curious to mix the Laney with the Vintage 30 in a 2x12. That might be a great combo.
Yeah, I'm keeping it!!!
Laney sounds surprisingly good
Yes man!!!!
Great job, fantastic comparison !
Thanx !
Thanks!!!
Good Video!! Laney is best for me.Sat from Japan
Yeah Lainey was surprisingly good!!
Thanks a lot guy, really good line I especially wanted to hear the Heritage next to the Vintage, Laney is so underrated!, thanks again =) \m/
Yeahhh this comparison have surprised everyone. Your´re welcome my friend!!
Celestions are Classics but I love the HH Drivers for value!
So Avatar used to sell made in U.K. Celestion Vintage 30 speakers too?
Nowadays they can be only bought from Mesa/Boogie store.
The HH Custom speaker sounded thinner than others. However, it did sound quite okay which is quite surprising because usually Laney HH speakers are infamous for their harsh and bright tone.
Yeah man, I bought that Avatar cabinet used around 2012 or so. I don't have experience with Laney stuff, just this Ironheart cabinet I got. Maybe this speaker is well broke in?? In the comments people liked the sound of the speaker, maybe the cabinet I used to shoot the video suits it well
The Jet City sounds nice in a unique way.
Yeah, not bad at all
Laney sounded great
Yeah right?
Great video man
Thanks bro, I appreciate it!
I replace my laney 2x12 with one V30s, Laney HH+Celestion V30s sounds good to me
Sure they sound awesome together
i seem to always go back to v30's
Mee too. I'd say in this demo I prefer the Laney but in my experience that harshness of the vintage 30 is what makes it cut through mix when you are playing in a band. For recording you just need to eq it better. Thanks!
I am here because I wonder why my laney Ih sounded better than my celestion v30. Is warmer ang has better top.
Yeah man that Laney speaker has a really nice voice. Most of the comments in this video are compliments for the Laney
8:01 Really Love The Tone From Laney..
Yeah man, I still use it almost everyday. A few days ago I fixed a Laney Cub and it also had the same speaker. It is great!
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 wow, i didn't realize that laney cub using the same speaker as well.. lately i saw that Laney LX65R using HH speaker too,. by the way what type of amp that you're using on this video..? is it tube or solid state..?
@@ian.hartono.official it is one of my prototypes, all tube!
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 that's cool mate.. if it's possible would you mind to make another video using the solid state amp with those speakers..? i think it would be great for the comparison.. 😁
@@ian.hartono.official Sorry man, I don´t have a solid state amp
V30 because very rocker and more mids
Totally. V30 can be a little aggressive if you play in your bedroom but when you play with a band they definitely cut through
whatever affordable stuff...it's all pretty goodd really dude how long they'll probably last...But Emi's had this like General Replacement idea or something...I don't know.
Well, I haven't heard anything like that for celestion. They last a lot of years. I suppose it'll depends on how hard do you drive them during the years
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 it isss...and it is the voice coil...no it's reallll bad some of them...you do need to recone it man...jerry it dude tear it off and spray shit in there lol.
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 not even that exactly...shit still needs to be in Series/Parallel and not dogging the damn speaker/OPT and valve stuff. It does lol.
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 it does..disspates better and sorta current limits....4ohm and 8ohmers are still hard on shit....
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 It don't matter tear it up lol...I mean it isn't like the usual Boutique Custom Speakers or something...
V30 anytime.
Yeah mine will never go!
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 I found this vid while researching a cab for a Laney Ironheart. Was looking at the standard Laney 412 but after hearing your demo’s I absolutely hate the Laney HH speakers. Thanks a million!
@@1979GenXdude That's ok. I like it but v30 is always my first choice
@@alverduratonejunkiealveram1017 Didn’t know what to expect of the HH, I have used V30 all my musical life. Glad I saw your vid, I’m now looking for a 412 with V30 again.
@@1979GenXdude Check out the Orange 4x12
whats the point of all that self medicating on overdriven😢 sound without a clean tone demo? just saying - sorry
Yeah, I almost don't play clean, sorry
Good video but talk less please
that one isn't good man..that ones like the same shit 75watter...flub the shit out of that one and fuzzierr....you need a real one...you can man..some of them handful were a little better throwing bass at em...get the Legend man...but nooo idk why they don't want to put big mags on anymore...
