Virtual Assistant Principal Leadership Academy with Principal Kafele
On May 2, 2020, Principal Kafele launched a Virtual Assistant Principal Leadership Academy where he engages assistant and aspiring assistant principals in principles for effective assistant principal leadership. The initial intent was a summer-long 18-week virtual academy toward keeping assistant principals sharp during the Coronavirus from May 2 - August 29 in one-hour Saturday morning sessions. Due to the academy's overwhelming national popularity however, Principal Kafele recently announced that the Virtual Assistant Principal Leadership Academy will be extended to a full year immediately following the conclusion of the Summer Academy on August 29. Beginning on Saturday, September 5, 2020, Principal Kafele will launch the Fall, Winter & Spring Virtual Assistant Principal Leadership Academy to occur every Saturday morning at 11 ET in 30-minute sessions through Saturday, May 1, 2021 on Facebook Live (Virtual Assistant Principal Leadership Academy with Principal Kafele & Principal Kafele), Twitter Live (@PrincipalKafele) and UA-cam Live (School Leadership Thoughts channel).
The purpose of the Virtual Assistant Principal Leadership Academy is to develop aspiring assistant principals and assistant principals beyond the role of disciplinarians while simultaneously preparing assistant principals for the principalship. All sessions coincide with with Principal Kafele's newest books, The Assistant Principal 50: Critical Questions for Meaningful Leadership & Professional Growth and The Aspiring Principal 50: Critical Questions for New & Future School Leaders. He strongly recommends that you obtain a copy of both as supplements to what is covered. You can order from Amazon, ASCD (the publisher) or PrincipalKafele.com. In addition to AP's and aspiring AP's, this academy is for principals, central office administrators and superintendents. Principal Kafele considers the assistant principalship to be the most misunderstood and underutilized position in education....and he wants to fix that. He hopes to see you for the entire 52 weeks.
