We went to a mega church for 12 years and never had a conversation with him or ever had him say hello to us when we passed him in the halls. We attend a church now for the last 9 years, and who was with our last church. He comes and prays for us in the hospital, calls to pray with us at home, and in his office at church. We're family to each other.

Thank you. I've been struggling with the thought of looking for a different church for a while now and who they call pastor in the church. I've met the lead pastor once at a church event. When he preaches it is from the word but I grew up in a church the "pastors actually tended to the sheep". This podcast and the one with Colin and you talked about being plugged into a good church and the 9941 got my attention. I thank you for your words, this brought some clarity to what the Lord has been laying on my heart.

After I had my baby I suffered severe post natal depression. I remember sitting in church alone, unable to speak to anyone, isolated. Everyone else was buzzing around, laughing with each other, chatting, having coffee. Not one person came over to me and sat down to see how I was. I cannot forget it, it lasted months.
I was so lonely at that time. One day I took my toddler to an indoor ball play area and bumped into a woman from my church. She said sorry I can't stay and chat I'm with friends....
People can be very uncaring, especially in church.

i agree, thats what happened to me, very similar. in amish and mennonite life, youre not supposed to grieve long. because if you do its a sign to them that you dont have faith in God. it hurts. because we are just sad, it doesnt mean we dont have faith. all my love !

    Hi!
Granger, I really appreciate you explaining the role of a pastor at a church. I was raised in a nondenominational church where the pastor wasn’t involved in our life. He would give the message, say hello at the end by the door and then we would see him again next Sunday. It seemed like people were in their own bubbles going through the motions. And we only had a congregation of 50 so looking back this is super strange to me. I mean, I spent 20 years around these people and knew barely anything about them! I thought this was the way it was at every church because I had nothing to compare it to. Thankfully God has showed me through his Word and through people in my life what a healthy church looks like - but it’s crazy how I never thought there was a problem. All this to say I think it’s really important what you’re talking about! Sometimes you never know until you’re exposed to a different way and that certainly was the case with me.
(I later found out that some of the people at the church said it wasn’t feeding them and the pastor said it’s our own responsibility to be fed not the church and then he would essentially preach about staying loyal to the church. Just very bizarre. Glad I’m at a good church now.)
    Question!
What would you say to someone who says a church is not feeding them spiritually? Is this a valid concern to have…or does it reflect the character of the person?

I've heard Pastor Ron in the past. It was mainly on tv. However, since you shared this video. It would be absolutely cold, insensitive and cowardly to even think that AI chat bot could possibly take on the responsibility of shepherding his flock. Not even possible! We as God's children need a pastor in a physical/spiritual/emotional/mentally to care for his sheep. That God made man in His image to take responsibility for not only his animals; but for his family and his spiritual flock in God's church❤❤

As a disabled elderly woman, I have been unable to attend church for over 28 years. How I wish I were able to be a part of a bible teaching church. However God was able to move me deeper into His word because I was forced to be isolated. Because of this I was able to weed out so much false teaching I had received over the years. Until pastors get back to emphasizing the importance of studying the scriptures and testing all things, people will be misled by unbiblical teaching. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation, and to spread it is our mission. Come Lord Jesus is the cry of my heart.

I just left the Mennonite church they excommunicated me when my mom died during covid, I didn't go to church. I've never been a social person so going to church was always hard for me. so they shunned me. then the next year when I felt better and happier to go to church my 5 yr old daughter died. I completely broke. I never had a relationship with them personally. just dinners. not love. forced dinners and suppers. if you didn't show up for supper or cancelled or just didn't want to go, you were not a believer. currently looking for a new church where I can bond more with people, however our small town is ever so small. im left with a Baptist church, called them and it took a month for that pastor to call me back. small church only 10 people so the wait of the call was ridiculous. I have better luck calling random pastors who answer and talk to me. that's when I felt more at peace to leave the church in my heart. ill find one I can depend on.

I don't know if you're right or wrong. It's awesome food for thought, it does not strike me as wrong at first hearing. I mostly attend church online because I can't find preaching locally that compares. They do have an online pastor and we have communicated through email but he doesn't feel like my pastor. I have communicated with the head pastor and he feels like my pastor. It's a huge church and when the head pastor runs into my brother he asks how I'm doing by my name. I live 3 days drive from that church. It's hard to fathom the head pastor and preacher reads every email I've sent, tells one of the other pastors in the group to respond to me because he doesn't have the time, they're up front about that, BUT he seems out my brother, asking about me, in a way that proves he remembered my emails without betraying a confidence. It's almost scary.

Pastor Ron is an amazing man of God. He has 2 church campuses, one in California where he lives and does the majority of his preaching and one in South Carolina, where he has other pastors over that church. He recently announced the AI thing in his podcast and from what it sounded like, it was going to be able to look through his entire archive of over 30 years of preaching, to help folks find answers. I thought that idea was pretty cool, but hearing the praying bit put me off. I wouldn't have used it regardless, though. I think his churches have gotten too large, personally. Maybe he's spread himself too thin? I'm not sure of the staff under him in his churches to be able to speak to how his churches operate. I wouldn't want to attend a church where the pastor didn't know me personally. I'm so blessed to be in a church that I know my pastor, and he knows my name.

I think Scripture teaches an elder- run congregation and pastor/teacher is one of the elders. The pastor doesnt have a bigger role in decisin makinfg than any other elder and until all agree, mthey keep praying and searching Scripture. Its dangerous for a pastor to have a 'vision'?and everyone has to get on board. Tthats just another strategy thats not seen anywhere in Scripture. Thanks Granger.

    The Word of God
    The Word/Law God spoke Ex.20
The Word/Law God wrote Deut. 9:10
The Word/Law God made flesh John 1:14
The same Word/Law God wrote upon the heart and the same Word/Law that hung on the cross, we now know as Jesus.
When God tells us how to apply His Word in Deut.6:8-9 He is putting us in Jesus. It is the circumcision of the flesh and the beginning of our armour. All religions only lead to death. Go to the only One who gives life. It is by our obedience we receive the life and protection from those who comes to steal, kill and destroy, that He offers.
We all wait for the return of Jesus. Yet He has returned in a book that speaks of Him, and we don't recognize Him today any more than they did when He came as Jesus. Put Him on!

For a youth pastor you are shepherding teens and parents with teens. For a worship pastor you should be specifically shepherding members of your team singers musicians sound and visual people. Also I have never been on a staff where a single member wasn’t being charged to Shepard the members of the church no madder the age. The problem to me is people thinking it’s the job of one single man and he is the only one who can do it. That’s how you get burn out is by putting all of that on one man.

But I also think on your part that you should definitely know what you're talking about, especially if you're going to make a video about somebody that you don't even know. To put up an image saying this person should be fired is not a good look and it causes division in the body of Christ. Now you're putting yourself in the same category as these guys that are constantly making videos , calling everybody false and honestly causing nothing but problems. I'm 100% for holding each other accountable but before we go putting stuff out there we need to go straight to the source to get the facts.

But, would we keep that same consistency with a bad doctor, or a bad teacher, or even a bad auto mechanic? No. We must be bold in love, and in order to do that, we must rebuke sin especially in church leadership, just as we would a hospital with a bad surgeon. I have no hesitation here by arguing from the biblical definition of pastor. It is not causing division to rebuke the divisor.

Remember we are all sinners you including. God is waiting for you to have relationship with Christ. Free will given to anyone who want that eternal life…John 3:16/14:6. In America churches are wide open so take advantage of this gathering with believers 😮bc one day it will be completely gone…Hebrew 19:25….Dont forsake the gathering and why is that 10 Commandments are in both in OT and NT? …#4 …Honor Sabbath Day….So important. We take advantage none so much just bc He’s Living God….Read the Ancient Bible He left for us to live by…..I am encouraging you…but one day too late….Free will…Imnsooo thankful for His death in the cross for my sins and forgave me….wow! Jesus is the King of King so take him seriously and I’m 100%with him on this comments he does throughout his sermon. I love how Granger letting congregations know a to focus in Christ, not on my need, me needs, myself….Christ❤️🙏Keep focus on Christ Granger…🙏🙏🙏🙏
