Thanks for sharing the build and all the lessons learned (I had asked about this last video). Appreciate the walkthrough. You mentioned a place to shower. As a lower cost option, I built an off grid cabin. For the shower I bought an on demand propane hot water heater (eco temp) and hooked it up to standard 20 pound tank. The water is collected of my metal roof into 275 gallon tote which I have some filtration in and out. Bought a normal one piece fiberglass shower from a big box and just plumbed outside to leach the grey water. Nice thing with this is its super easy to winterize. Much cheaper than digging a well or putting in a septic system
Yessir! You were the reason Justin! Haha. That is a good idea. I’ve been seeing those little on demand water heaters on social media. I have a linked saved. Would be so nice to have… even if I don’t get the shower fully built this year. But I like the setup you mentioned. Thank you!
Nice barn! I need one so much!! I am afraid you will have issues with the tree stump so close to the porch. I removed trees that were near my pool deck. They were removed by a tree digger attached to a tractor owned by a local tree farmer. They were removed prior to pouring the deck. Over the next couple of years the roots rotted under the deck and the deck cracked and sunk around the area where the tree was. I learned afterward the hard way you should not pour concrete where trees were removed for at least 3 years. Not sure if there is anything you can do now to prevent the settling. You may want to look now into concrete floating an be ready in case it starts sinking. They basically pump expanding foam under the concrete after it settles.
Ya I was a little worried from the get go. So we will see. Was at least hoping they would remove it like they said. I appreciate it tho. Hope you can start yours one day as well
Barn looks great man. I just put up a similar sized building, currently waiting until spring to pour the floor. Have you thought about putting a steel ceiling up under your lean to? It you're going to be hanging out under there I would highly recommend it, it completely changed the look of mine. Also keeps the animals out. Subscribed to your channel. Love watching Sturgis and the boys.
Thanks so much! You mean just like a nice steel ceiling to cover it not structural right? That would be a fun project in the summer. I’ll run some electrical first as well beforehand
I’d throw some gutters up, especially if you don’t want the bottom 2’ to be brown sand color and the rest white. Nice building! You’ll grow into that space for sure. Hard to say what all to do until you have a clear vision of what to prioritize the space for. *Get a cheap basketball hoop put up for those rain soaked days you find yourself there!
Lol I love that idea. Miss doing that. I didn’t think the building would get it that bad but ya if it does I would prob put some gutters up. Thanks tho, pretty excited about it!
@@TradgerFarms your water line would but, I’d build a small pump house for the water pump next to the building. The sewer would be one line drilled thru the concrete at the edge of wall and you’d then undermine the concrete slab to it to run your line sloped out to your septic tank. It won’t hurt the slab for that little of undermining.
Construction crews are the worst for cleaning up or not being pigs about crap... I tend to blame the people they hire and then they dont want to send anyone out again on the clock... Its really disappointing... Its not the way I would work or conduct business.

Looking good. Check with your insurance company before putting in a wood stove. Some won’t allow them, or they require certain stove pipe.
I heard that thanks for the reminder. That wouldn’t be good

Really enjoy your channel. Keep them coming.
Thanks I appreciate that!
You can build a raised floor for your living space build out to run plumbing etc.
Great idea. Would hide stuff and not be a huge deal. Would still need to go through the metal I assume right?

I would epoxy that floor. Sealer wears off over time and you have to reapply. Get a good epoxy and your one and done.
It’s not a bad idea and would look great. Much more expensive but it’s an option for sure
@TradgerFarms yea it is more expensive but think one and done. They also have diy kits that are more affordable.
If you have any recommended kits please let me know

Same here George. At least don’t lie about what you’re going to do right…
