Browns Hole Road State Trust Land - Looking Glass Rock - Dispersed Camping/Boondocking Utah

- I drove south of Moab on highway 191 to find a great little dispersed camping spot on Utah State Trust Land off of Browns Hole Road. The spot I found was up on some sandstone rock formation that had a great view of the valley below. About four miles down south of hwy 191 I visited Looking Glass Rock which is a pretty neat attraction easily accessible from hwy 191. Looking Glass Rock is a beautiful formation with a huge amphitheater and large window peering out into the desert. A must see! Thanks for watching!

My pleasure 😊

You bet. It's something I wish other youtubers would do. LOL Safe Travels!
Go Air Force!! Once again beautiful camp spot!! Thanks for taking us along! Stay safe!👍🇺🇸
Thanks! Most welcome!
The info you provide is great. Thank you so much I’m heading out there soon and may use some
Of your spots !!
Right now in Moab area it's hitting 100 degrees during the day. HOT! I'm going to be up in the La Sal Mountains checking out that area. It's up in elevation, and much cooler. Safe Travels!
Marc thanks for always sharing great details about your travels and a good dispersed camping sites very much appreciate it
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice spot you found! I would be making sure that hammock got a workout lol! Thanks!
You got that right! The hammock worked overtime! LOL

Great video!
Thanks!
So cool that you noticed that 5th wheel sitting up there. What a gorgeous place to camp!
It definitely was.
Always enjoy your motorcycle POV showing the road conditions to get to your campsite!
Glad you like them!
Another great video , especially the spectacular drone footage 👌 .
Can't do the Patron thing now , but I did watch the video on UA-cam TV , laptop , and cellphone. Small time support .
Hope you had a great 4th of July !
Thanks! I did have a great 4th of July. Thanks for the support!
Mark, thanks for showing us another great spot. My rig is solar only, so I'll have to wait till it cools off in the fall to try out this one!
Thanks! Yeah, it's hitting high 90's in the Moab area. Summer is definitely here.
Moab used to be a quaint village with only one stoplight. Now it is a nightmare of tourism, mountain bikes, jeeps, traffic jams, ridiculous prices. Pretty much Jackson, Wy in Utah. We have loved it to death.
Moab is a great little tourist attraction town. I'm enjoying being here during the off season for sure. Less traffic.
That’s a nice spot. Nice view on the bluff. I want a ground panel for solar so I can park in the shade and still grab some solar. I’m surprised a 5er got up there 😂 but I guess it’s not too steep or soft. Some people are brave
It did have some nice views. I enjoyed it. I couldn't believe a 5er got up there also. It was doable for a 5er, but would definitely have to take it slow.
Yep I was one of those vehicles that saw you up there 🤣🤣🤣 Ha! That was you I saw up there when I was driving home from work one day a couple weeks ago or so 🤣🤣💜 I looked over and thought it looked like your rig. That is a great spot up there! Glad you enjoyed it and looking glass.
Yes it was me! That area is beautiful. Great views. Looking glass was pretty neat to explore and check out.
Nice video Mark. I enjoy all the great geology of beautiful Utah. In your travels around Utah have you come across many lakes or reservoirs where I could go kayaking ? I am going to try and make it to Utah and Arizona in October or November, Have not been down in that area since 2008 or so. I'll be going back over your videos and try to pick out some areas I might like. Thanks Mark. Stay safe always ! Kenny C.
Thanks Kenny! There are lakes and reservoirs around here, but they are normally privatized or BLM campgrounds where you have to pay to camp there. I'm currently dispersed camped down from Warner Lake up in the La Sal Mountains. But in October there might be a foot of snow here by then. LOL I have a map of all my locations in this video description, click on a spot and the video of that location pops up. I hope this helps.
@@DispersedCamperMan Thanks MARK !!
Great video as always. Wish I was there. Timing is good. I’m recovering from surgery and really need something to pick me up.
Thanks Daryl! And a speedy recovery for you!
Trying too. The Foley bag gets removed on the 14th. So tired of dragging it around. Did order one of the Hiseeu cameras. Are you back in Arkansas?
@@darylhawkins4658 I do think you'll like the camera. I love mine. I'm still in Utah exploring the area. I'll probably be back in Arkansas Novemberish.
Great video! Thanks for explaining your cameras, but I liked the wildlife (camouflaged) ones you used to use. What happened to them? Why don't you have them anymore?
I still have the game trail cameras, it's just much easier to put up my cameras when I get to a location. I'll use my trail cameras when I have to use them away from the camper. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Mr Mark. You seem to always have the ability to find very beautiful areas. Do you make time for any shooting out there on the BLM? It’s hard for me to choose which firearms to bring with me in my truck camper space is a commodity.
Space is definitely a commodity in a truck camper. Normally there are BLM shooting ranges in the area, just google map it and they'll pull up.
Does your Starlink have to have 110V service to run it?
Yes. It's not 12v. I have it plugged into my 1000w jackery with tw0 of my solar panels keeping the jackery charged.
👍👍🇺🇸
Are you running the Starlink off the truck battery and the solar panels?
No, I have a jackery 1,000 watt with two solar panels hooked up to it to keep it charged. I have my starlink plugged into the jackery. This set up allows me to keep my starlink on all day and night. The other jackery solar panel I have plugged into my Jackery 500 to keep it charged while running mainly my laptop. The last solar panel I have hooked up to my onboard RV battery to keep it charged throughout the day.
@@DispersedCamperMan wow.... Now I gotta look up jackery
@@DispersedCamperMan Okay I think I'm missing you probably got a 12 volt inverter or something for Starlink?
@@sgtwrench69 No. I have my Starlink plugged directly into my 1000 watt Jackery.
@@DispersedCamperMan that gives you 120 volts?
Nice to see you out west again. Beautiful spot!
Hey, do you know how that road got its name? I imagine that it went something like this:
“Hey Elmer, what’s that young buck, Brown, doing out there in the middle of the desert?”
“He’s digging a hole.”
“Ain’t he old enough to know it’s hot out there?”
“Oh, I imagine he knows that by now.”
“Damn fool. There ain’t nothing to find out there.”
“True, but maybe that hole will make him famous someday.”
“How’s that?”
“We named the road after him.”
Sounds about right. LOL
