People just don't appreciate cadets percussion enough

My instructor moved from cadets to cadets 2 so I went to watch them in PA. Both of them were amazing

one step closer! i liked the vocalists this year and how they were more visual and integrated into the show, not just standing there.
7th place percussion my ass. I haven’t seen their finals performance but unless they really just ticked out several times I cannot believe that got that placement.
Forreals tho SOOOO fricken underrated...

Best Cadets show since 2011. And more moving to me.
Michael Frontz I like 2016 and 2017 quite a bit as well, but yes, this is the best of the three.

There’s SERIOUSLY no way in hell this is a 7th place percussion section.
I know it's a Vic Firth vid, so focus is battery and pit. But epic fail missing hi cam on the Z-pull. That's something that should never be missed in any video.
This show is hopefully the start of The Cadets working their way out of this rut that they have been stuck in since 2016.

I get this is featuring percussion but I just have to say that baritone solo at the beginning was 👌
Still just not a fan of the singing used in this. I loved the way bluecoats used it this year so I’m not against it. Just don’t really like the way the Cadets use it. It takes away from the tone and tamber of the hornline

This show is one of the most Drum Corpy shows this season. Theme is hard to understand, and there’s a lot of musical elements that only make sense because it’s Drum Corps. Technicality for technicality sake. Too much sometimes.
Nevertheless I love Cadets Percussion and the stuff they throw down is off the walls insane!
I know it’s a Vic Firth vid, but how could they not do hi cam on the z-pull? 🤦🏻♂️

My top 5 for percussion imo should've been:
1. SCV
2. BAC
3. BD
4. Bloo
5. Cadets
Ik Crown was very clean but honestly their music was very easy compared to most corps that year

MusicLover 915 it’s a college band. You got to go to the college
MusicLover 915 No, you don’t have to join the college. The minimum age is 15 for any DCI Corps, if you’re older than 21 you can’t join DCI but you can join DCA which has no upper age limit.

This show oozes intensity from beginning to end. I LOVE IT! The integration of the vocalists in the music and the drill is fantastic. So glad I got to see this show in person in Atlanta. By far, one of the best shows of the evening.

I rag pretty hard on the cadets from 16-19. I understand that things were very ugly behind the scenes, but that said there’s a significant dip in show quality during this era. My high school actually hosted as the last home for the Cadets2 before they disbanded (we got their props and everything). That put the Cadets in a special place in my heart that year. As much as I rag on this slum, I can’t deny how much I quote this show in my mind. There’s a lot of good quality musical ideas in this show that didn’t get the light of day it deserved.
Anyone else pissed they changed the tenor break in Dynamic Thesis? haha the original visual at the end of it was fire, probably really uncomfortable with a harness on but still lol

this is gonna sound like a dumb question but does anyone know why pretty much the entire hornline has knee high white socks on is that some sort of inside meme or what, I would think it would get very hot and uncomfortable very fast.
They wear the long white socks so the directors in the press box can see the timing in the feet, synced with the music. Also to point out anyone out of time.
@@ncpyro1799 that's actually pretty smart but some corps dont like members wearing white because it reflects off the brass instruments and makes the drum major's white gloves harder to see

Jake Pearce makes a little more sense to the insanely different uniforms. Kind of a cadets kick in the face for all the ol’ folk wishing they had their “Holy Name Cadets” back on the field
based on the member in traditional uniform that they added to the closer and the numerous times that the drum majors wore traditional unis, I think that the Cadets are hinting of a possible revert back to traditional unis in the near future

Show called Unity Project, the uniforms from 2011 were red and white to signify heaven and hell basically, uniforms meant to be combination of both, “Unity”. That’s the gist I pull from it.
Sad to see that they nerfed the snare feature at 6:26

Xavier Ovalle the Z-pull is a drill move that was originally seen in the Cadets’ 1983 show. Drill designer George Zingali came up with the move, and it basically features drill that kinda looks like a Z that unravels.

It’s a percussion company so they’re very obviously going to show percussion. If you want to see hornline closeups look at the official recording or HornlineFanatic. Those are pretty good recordings most of the time.

too bad they still haven't figured out how to set the cameras properly. The shutter angle is much too slow on the closeups, sticks are unnecessarily blurry. You would think there's one cinematographer that knows their stuff at this company
