I think she said in an interview that this song was about her mother passing away, too. (Can’t link because I’m not sure which one I heard that in) makes this song hit a little harder if it’s true! Beautiful song though!

I never interpreted this as about an afterlife kind of experience but I do see where that interpretation comes from. I just connect so much to this song as being about a person who can’t connect to life on earth and so they dream about leaving and want to leave.

Its the same with 'Through the Eyes of A Child', Interpret it as someone that is coming to the end of there life and looking back and wanting to relive life again, when aurora says at the end of the song "please dont leave me here" makes me feel that the persons friends and family have all passed and they are saying that they want to follow them and not to be left on earth and its time to leave.

A Different Kind Of Human I've been told by someone who works with her that she's seen it... But we shall never really know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is just perfect. When I first heard this song, it made me think of multiple different things, but the main thing that formed in my mind was the idea of what sounded like aliens/higher beings descending from above to take one away to a better world that suited their soul, which could've been the afterlife. Lyrics such as "Are you afraid?" and "don't be scared of us" happened to remind me of angels in their true forms from the bible telling someone not to be afraid (please bear with me, I'm not religious so I don't remember details), and so that painted a picture in my mind of angels or angelic beings guiding someone onto the next stage after life, especially when also paired with "It's time to go, you are infected" which made me think of a sickly being dying in bed, as it is their time to pass on. And of course, the rest of the song is sprinkled with details in the instrumental that give it an ethereal, out-of-this-world feel. Even just the harmonies alone produce that vibe, and the chorus lyrics allude to what one may think of when potentially coming across alien life forms: "We have come here for you, and we're coming in peace/Mothership will take you on, higher (x2)/This world you live is not a place for someone like you/Come on, let us take you home". This animation captures all those concepts and combines them pretty perfectly in my opinion, so glad I found this.

You did a wonderful job on this, the animation's quite good. It's also made me wonder...because this is nothing like how I imagined the "encounter" like. I wonder how different each of our encounters would be. What would affect our perceptions? Our culture, or our religion, our upbringing, our beliefs? Would you guys mind sharing yours? I'm quite curious about it. ( I must also admit, I'm really creeped out by the alien.)

@@leticiajacinthoWoah, your alien is really fitting. Is the way it all folds out similar to how Ursa's does? I never really tried piecing everything together into an actual scene but I'll try to explain what I get from the lyrics. I will warn you though that my version is based off the Christian version of life after death. I've always taken the are you awake or are you sleeping part metaphorically, I think there's a lot of things about, life and ourselves that we'd really want to avoid, so we close our eyes to them. I think this is also why we're so afraid of dying. In my version it starts off in darkness as I've always thought that's how it would be, when we die, our existence just cuts off until we are brought back at the end of the world, my eyes are closed but I can still feel my soul floating in nothingness, there's someone talking to me. (The song) To me God is love, a comforter, a guide, a protector, my superman. I also take the mother as my actual mother and mother earth, we are in their care for a little while but the time always comes when we have say goodbye. I feel a strong sense of loss when thinking of this. I don't think of the aliens as literal aliens but as the concept of something alien, strange and different. So I guess my figurative aliens can be anything really, dragons, angels, elves, those creepy as hell animals from revelations. But my mind chose other humans, broken ones. They come to me out of the darkness and I am stunned by them. They have scars all over their souls, some that have only started healing but I can see the astral dust from where they bled. From their eyes I can see how much they've gone through. I couldn't understand how they could be smiling at me like that in spite of it all. I then notice I am bleeding. One of them takes my hand and pulls me in for a hug and I feel a surge of love, I am released from the hug but the person still holds my hand tightly and we begin zooming forward through the darkness and my eyes are slowly unsealed as we go,the souls are still talking to me and the presence of love is still there, strong enveloping and I cry, as I cry I see more light. Soon I can see clearly and I find myself in the "mothership" which is basically like a passage between worlds, it looks almost like a domain of angels.There are large gates to one side that I cannot see beyond. I find myself surrounded by more groups like ours, ppl standing around in awe or crying into one another or laughing. We walk through the gates as the end of the song plays and we float up. As to what we find there, who knows? It's also one of the reasons why I think Aurora's songs are based on finding love and being able to love yourself and others. You have to be open to it, otherwise I think you'll always feel like you're missing something. Also I don't think the mothership would work if you're unable to feel love. This song also made me think. The forbidden tree of knowledge (which ironically is an apple tree) might have been some sort of trial. Something changed in who we fundamentally were and we've been struggling ever since. But whatever it is, its made us forget how to trully be loving, to others and to ourselves. I think one our main trials if not the trial on this earth is simply to learn how to love again. But that's all just speculation. Hope I didn't bug u with all this religion talk. Most people start shutting off once God and religion are mentioned in a topic. I can understand why, most Christians and Bible thumpers can be narrow minded and almost unbearable about it but there's still a lot of good advice and informative tales within the stories, despite the inconsistencies... Anyway that's my approach.

I also loved their floofy looking dragon eyebrows and the fact that you gave it Aurora's iconic cheek and eye paint symbol.
