    I feel like the difference between level 2 and level 3 is just thickness. I'm about to work on my first client piece, and I really wanted to deliver my best. The information that it's harder to frame such a thick canvas is invaluable to me! Thank you!

      More or less YES... I think a level 3 is stretched a little better ( maybe to accommodate for the gallery wrap ). I also think the extra thick wooden rails make it more stable and durable.
      I am glad that the video can help you out.

    I’d love a video to see the differences between canvas boards and stretched canvases. I know the canvas bounce is beneficial, but I’ve got a couple unused canvas boards in my basement I wanna try. It would be interesting to experiment.

    I love your videos, very informative. I almost started buying level 3 because this wooden bar on level 1 is killing me. I paint a nice painting but I can visibly see the where the bar is. I don’t paint with a heavy hand. Do you have any tips for this or am I the only one having this issue? 🤣 I tried putting cardboard between the wood bar and canvas but it bulges out and it just doesn’t work.

      Yes - I do... well a few things. I would say look for canvases that have a spline ( like I show in this video). That will give the canvas more space between the bars. If you want staple back canvas, go with beveled bars frame ( they are rounded ) this way they tapper off and you would hit the bars when you paint. Last you can make you canvas more tight. In this video here ( ua-cam.com/video/BumGPNbasCo/v-deo.html ) I show you a simple trick to make an canvas more tight before you paint.
      I hope that helps :)

    even tho its already primed with gesso,... would you still recommend doing a layer yourself before you start painting? @Wild Creates

      On a Level 3 you can get away with not adding one BUT it really comes down to you style and technique. So test it out and see how it works for you.

      Artist Loft is a brand sold by Michaels in the U.S. - frames come in 3 levels, and Level 3 is the best quality/most expensive. Hope this helps.

    Hi, thanks for the wonderful video. Question. With level 3 heavy duty loft. how can we un stretch it . Can we remove it from the bar and roll and ship it ? Thank you

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  4 місяці тому

      Its not really meant to unstreched... You could, but I think most would just cut it then have it retrench by a professional.

    I work part time as a framer and the depth of the canvas really doesn't make a difference in terms of price, just the overall height and width.

    I pay the extra for the thicker edge because then I don't have to pay to frame it.

      Yeah level 3's look awesome on a wall with its wide edge.
