And it feels like that scene hit so much harder for the non readers. And this is my argument for why I thank the light that we are NOT getting a beat for beat plot adaptation.
Lanfear (literally in 50 shades of grey *ahem*) almost looking bored blowing stuff up with zero effort (or f*cks) is perhaps my favourite moment of the season. This is the Lanfear I always wanted. I love how they have made the bad guys not simple "I like being bad", but really have some depth and important character development - Liandrin, Barthanes. etc... I think they spent all season re-building Matt's character, after the disaster / forced changes at the end of season 1, so that once Season 3 comes around, we have Matt being Matt. Much like we had Lan floundering this season, otherwise he would just been a silent statue on a wall if he was with Moiraine all season long, but now hopefully we have Lan being Lan again.
..snorts...somewhere Rafe in a board room, "you know what would be cool, sharks with lasers..." dear goodness what they have done with this series is 95 percent their own hate letter to the source and 1-5 percent using the same names as the actual books.
@@jonahdav9589 If you have so much hate for the TV show, why even bother wasting your time on it, let alone seek places to crap on it? If you want the books, go read the books. The TV show has been really good this year, and has followed the spirit of the books a lot more closely than season 1. If they took the books, which is mostly internal dialogue, and replicated the same thing, that would make for a tremendously boring TV show (and impractical in so many ways). I honestly do not have many issues with the changes to the TV show, if nothing else, it makes it more interesting to not know everything 100%, while watching.
I like your idea that Mat stabbing Rand is going to be an attempt to save Rand from himself (and from destroying everyone in the vicinity). I don't know that we've gotten enough buildup of the madness yet to make it really work, and I haven't liked how they've been handling Min's viewings (and found the stabbing vision really heavy-handed as a way to keep Mat from Rand and cause more angst, as well as making Min much less competent at interpreting her visions), but with a callback to their season 1 fears it could be made to fit. Maybe they'll surprise me and the stabbing will play out in a way that really works for me! I hope so. That's really my only big worry for the finale - for everything else, I'm eager to see what they do.
I am with you on the flicker stuff. We've already seen alternate versions of life in Nynaeve's Accepted test and at the end of season 1 with Rand and Ishy, so I'm fine with not getting it like we did in the Great Hunt. I am more than fine with how they're using the device in the show so far, and there's no need to overuse it to check off the bingo card of all the book readers who really want to see it.
I think most viewers are missing "the Game" entirely. Now, I could be entirely wrong, but Anavere/Barthanes/House Damodreod were all played in the same hand. The show has demonstrated *multiple* times how subtle Liandrin is and how immaculately she plays Daes Dae'mar. Yet, she walks into the Damodreod house in the middle of the day, doesn't do any appropriate polite things, instead she's awkward, abrupt and direct. That would make anyone from Carhien do a double take. Her instructions to Barthanes are wrong: Moraine isn't being detained at all, she's chilling with a detained and very observed Rand. If you was a competent assassin to get the job done you need a minimum of correct "leaves work at 6pm" and Barthanes is definitely not a competent assassin. Of course, if Liandrin wasn't merely sloppy for the first time on the show, she also outted herself. I have a few ideas about what's actually happening here: 1) This is personal: Liandrin wants to hurt Moraine for threatening her son, but that's some petty revenge at a high cost. 2) Lanfear wants Moraine dead and told Liandrin to take care of it and Liandrin is cocking it up like she did when turning the girls over to the Seanchan. I just don't see a reason why she would be intentionally incompetent in that case. 3) Lanfear wants Barthanes taken off of Ishy's board while he's busy looking at his other "pieces" and this is Liandrin's test proving her worth to Lanfear. In which case Liandrin was perfection itself. Had Barthanes managed to kill Moraine, I'm sure both Lanfear and Liandrin would have been pleased with that happy little accident. In this scenario Liandrin outing herself is not an issue as it sets her up to leave the tower and work directly for one of the Forsaken as she was doing in one of the books. I love your predictions! I agree with them and I still standby Matt intentionally stabbing Rand, even if no one else on that poll though so. 😉
This post contains spoilers halfway in!! You no ready if you no likey spoilers! -- I am so excited to see the finale! Also, I am nearly having an aneurism over the fact it ends season 2 and season 3 is 90 hundredy million years away. While there are so many consolidations, deviations, and outright changes from the books, I sure love the story. Love it. The Matt tea thing is still bothering me (instead of a Ter'angreal), but wow is so much of this fantastic. I agree with you on Egwene's line delivery to Renna. BAM! Spoiler reference! Only kinda. But Egwene is totally Cuendillar. The more you pour into her, the stronger and more unbreakable she becomes. If you get the reference to the last book, this character trait is manifest at the end. LOVE IT. More SPOILERS -- I really want Nynaeve to show more "crankiness" and stubbornness. Because when she breaks down later, admitting her anger is her fears and need to protect those she so deeply loves, it is more meaningful when she is about punching everyone in the face when she speaks. And one of my favorite things in the books is Nynaeve's healing. Where she roughly manhandles, angrily, people to heal things that have never been healed and which shock the Forsaken as well as the Aes Sedai. Like, she just angrily cures madness and severing and is hilariously annoyed at the whole problem, rather than recognizing the incredible and stunning discovery. Her almost bullying approach is something I sure hope they develop. And yeah, Hopper is going to finally fly like he dreams of doing. Ugh. Also, there is a TON in book 3 that isn't in this, so it's seemingly mostly book 2. I mean, Elaida... Stone of Tear... tons and tons. So I'm assuming that book 3 is also season 3 with other book storylines brought in. Just sayin'. Thank you Kritter XD! I have so much fun watching your videos.
I know people are predicting Hopper's death, but I doubt he and Perrin have established their deep relationship enough. Now he's just tagging along with Perrin, and there hasn't been the communication I expected.
SPOILERS FOR BOOK 1: They didn’t get a ton of time together before Hopper died in the books. I think the audience will be impacted regardless because he’s a cute doggo
Is it possible that we will have the Moiraine vs Lanfear battle that takes them both off the board? I know that is generally much later and I think there is much more buildup for that, but it is a shorter show instead of all those book pages. I do like most of your predictions. It would let Min's vision be somewhat true. RIP Hopper, the good boy leaves us way too soon. I do think the confrontation between Perrin and the Whitecloaks has to be to lead into the Season 3 battles at the Two Rivers.
I thought maybe Ishy might stab Rand with the unhealable wound and Matt might stab him as a way to counter that wound? Like the 2 sources of evil he’s stabbed with will combat each other enough that they almost negate each other and prevent him from dying from either one? I’m probably reaching lol!
Bet a dollar the finale or next season has an Artur Hawkwing and heroes of old flashback like they did with Rand’s mother. It’ll explain the Seanchan’s Return and setup blowing the horn of Valere
Rand needs a big moment. He got his big moment taken from him last season and has done next to nothing so far in season 2. Very excited for the finale!
Yes, please! I felt like Rand being the one to remove Moiraine's shield was like an olive branch from the show to say, "See? Here, Rand gets to do something!" And it wasn't even something he should have been doing, and didn't really land all that well. Josha is doing a great job portraying Rand, and I'm definitely enjoying the interactions between him and Lanfear, Mat and Logain. The character work is good. But he needs to actually do something impressive already. Even his Season 1 "win" was pretty anti-climactic imo.
Sorry but Rands path has made so much sense to me in the show. I mean up until what episode 3 or 4 he still thought he defeated the dark one. And left his friends so they could be safe from him. He is lost and young and along comes this very alluring Women who pulls him in so many directions. It took for her throat to slit for him to realise what she was. There has little been zero guidance As Lan & Moraine we’re trying to sort through their major issues episodes 6 & 7 have been a wake up call for him
@@claudiabailey5302 I don't think anyone is specifically criticizing his path so much as the lack of badassery. At the end of Book One he demolishes an entire army of Trollocs, Fades and Draghkar single-handedly, then fights the embodiment of evil in a sky battle, while drawing incomprehensible power from The Eye of The World and the voice of The Creator provides inscrutable foreshadowing statements (whether that foreshadowing ever pays off or not). In the show... he didn't. I don't disagree that his overall path has been pretty good, but by the end of this season we really need to see some semblance of the awesome Rand action from the climax of The Great Hunt.
Ep.7 for me was a good one, not the best this season but, still good. For me it was kind of an info dump to get all the pieces in or headed to the final destination for this season. Right now they have made some "questionable" choices but, I can see why they went in a particular direction on some. Still really enjoying this season, still wish we could get more, ( you know like 10 episodes). As it stands, ep.8 has the potential to be a banger and I truly hope that it is. Is it Thursday yet? 😁
Get out with Uno on Uno’s ship? Uno was killed by the Sean Chen and he was a soldier. Did you mean Boyle Domon who we met with Moraine earlier in the season?
What you predict makes sense, there is so much to cram into one episode. This is what I expect to see. MOSTLY SPOILERS. This for book readers mainly They must do: Egwene's rescue, the heron sword fight with Turrock and recovery of the horn (maybe Lews appearing in the back of Rand's mind), the whitecloaks getting slaughtered but one of them identifying Perrin and going back to Valda, Ingtar's reveal and redemption as he shields their retreat, the fleet turned to cinders by Rand but Suroth escaping with remnant, Bale Domon rescuing someone and sneaking off, the blowing of the horn with the heroes fighting (including Uno), the battle of the sky, Ishamael defeated, Lanfear rejoicing at that and retreating from the heroes, Masema's madness, Rand wounded and meeting Elaine, Lan and Moiraine arriving too late for the action but healing and whisking Rand off, perhaps on the Spray. We might get a glimpse of a large gathering of Seanchan elsewhere, or Aiel on the sands, but my guess is that the next contingent of forsaken will make an ominous appearance.
Predictions: Mat “stabs” Rand in a fake out to put Ishy off guard thinking he is evil We see Gaul and Perrin together for the first but not last time in that bromance Lanfear tells Elayne, not Min, that Rand is hers while she heals him after he falls from the sky battle with the unhealable wound
S2 has been really enjoyable. And today we found out the entire season had to be re-written after Barney left. Agree Lan was much better in this episode. As for E8, just seeing 'for the light and shinowa' in the preview gave me chills so i cannot wait.
@@selinabeth4346 there was a rafe interview the other day, they re-wrote the entire season. Origonally they were going to keep the characters together for the hunt, but the mat situation changed that. Agreed on new mat though
cause it set up Ingtar's redemption. You know the heroic sacrifice and how Rand as a Tav'ern is changing the world for the better. Did you read the books even?
I've had the same thought about Mat stabbing Rand as a good faith action based on their pact. Rand has been iced over the season regarding the strength of The Dragon. I'm anticipating some past life intervention for Rand by LTT during his showdown with Ishy. Come on, quit the foot dragging and show us what The Dragon can do!
At least we know Rand will be perfectly fine after getting stabbed with that dagger, as we saw with Loial! Spoiler Seriously though i guess that will be his gut wound instead of getting stabbed by Turok.
Here's some food for thought... After losing Barney last season, the writers had to scramble and have since put Mat even further down but doesn't that mean that when/if he does what he is supposed to tomorrow it will have even greater value. He will have climbed out of an even bigger hole than he did in the books and therefore it will mean more? Most book readers are literally grinding their teeth watching Mat while Show only folks thin he lost and has been manipulated/confused by Ishamael. Good spot for a Time to roll the dice/Spit in sightblinders eye moment, no? Honestly, if they pull it off there will need to be some props going out IMO
hardly would make sense. This is not Robert Jordans fun prankster Mat from the innocent coming of age Two Rivers aka The Shire. This is Rafe's broken Mat who steals from friends, betrays them, has a broken family life. Guessing this is Rafe's childhood or something as he is a small envy filled person who hates Robert Jordan.
@@jonahdav9589 the only thing you said there that had anything reasonable was that they changed his family/childhood. You watch or ask any non-reader and they all believe Mat left them because he thought he was detrimental and dangerous to his friends. And what are you talking about, Mat was broken in the books within a few chapters of taking the dagger from SL. As far the last part of your comment...a completely fair and reasonable ANALysis...🙄
The dark shot everyone is complaining about looked fine (and actually a bit nice) on my 4k tv. Not to be elitist and tell everyone to get a 4k tv, but it really doesn't seem like these producers and cinematographers (in the industry as a whole-- as this seems to be happening on a lot of TV, cf. GoT and HoTD) are interested in making content for lower quality devices 😕
It looked fine to me, too -- in fact, it looked like that moment in the desert just after the sun has gone down, but the dome of the sky is still lit up a glowing dark blue, and the very first/brightest stars are just becoming visible.
@@astronaimee7215 It definitely seems device specific. My TV is not that new or fancy and the scene look good, kind of a violet sunset effect. On the laptop it was just oddly dark and hard to see. On my wife's iPad it looked fine just like the TV.
I just do not see Rand beating Turok 1 vs 1 with hi s limited to zero sword training, but I can see Lan doing that job.... that will be my only guess for S2E8.
He can't in the books, either...doesn't Turak make some comment like "is this really what it takes to earn the herons on this side of the Aryth Ocean?"
@@Mrsangeandbellabut then, Rand enters the void (which he has been a-voiding previously, because its close to saidin and channeling, which he is afraid of at this point) in the void, he is a match for Turag.
@@Mrsangeandbella I don't care really what happens to the books vs tv show. I am just saying Rand has not earned any notoriety with the sword, so it would make more sense if it was someone like Lan, who obviously has. If Rand does beat Turok in 1 v 1 combat on the show, that would just be a poor writing decision. In the books, Rand does defeat him, but at least that is somewhat earned given the training with Lan and the shinarians..
So many things set up in Episode 7, I think your predictions sound pretty spot on! We'll see in just a few hours. I can't believe the whole season will be done! Thank goodness they're already into production on season 3, but we're still in for a wait! 😳😭

No. Does that give me a right to be an absolute troll to the show they've put out? No. The Book Truthers are being nothing but trolls.
The entire Damondred family "drama" was a waste of time. Was it good TV? maybe. But given how many meaningful characters and plot lines are needed to tell the actual story, it is was not a good decision by Rafe. I would have rather had more time with Matt, Min, Loial, and Ingtar than watching the details of a dead-end side plot.
KritterXD has kitty pool loyalty to the source material and will gobble up the slop 1-5 percent that is true to the source material like a good shill pet. She was shielded but did not know? The White Tower trained them on shielding. She would have known if Rafe cared about book lore. Show is better than tell right? All we got by this Rafe hate letter is tell that Rand is training. And it feels like that scene hit so much harder for the non readers. And this is my argument for why I thank the light that we are NOT getting a beat for beat plot adaptation.
I think Lews Therin will pass his blademaster skills to Rand for the fight with High Lord Turok...
Agree, especially if we still get Egwene's Accepted test. Which we may not -- I wonder if she goes to the Waste directly from here?
I have a few ideas about what's actually happening here:
1) This is personal: Liandrin wants to hurt Moraine for threatening her son, but that's some petty revenge at a high cost.
Good observation! I was asking myself how Liandrin could be so clunky this episode.
Just started the video and just wanted to say you look so pretty 💕💖
Thanks! I was searching for Such a YT channel
I am most confused/conflicted about Min’s Viewing of May stabbing Rand. Your prediction is plausible to me.
@@KritterXDexactly. Their friendship didn't really get going until after Hopper died and slid into Perrin's t'a'r DMs.
More than anything else in Episode 8, I can't wait for Egwene to escape and kick Renna's a$$!
Still hope to see flicker flicker. Rafe all but implied it, saying Rand looked good in prosthetics. That could be Dragons.
Any predictions when S3 is coming?
I can only hope like spring 2025
Is it possible that we will have the Moiraine vs Lanfear battle that takes them both off the board? I know that is generally much later and I think there is much more buildup for that, but it is a shorter show instead of all those book pages. I do like most of your predictions. It would let Min's vision be somewhat true. RIP Hopper, the good boy leaves us way too soon. I do think the confrontation between Perrin and the Whitecloaks has to be to lead into the Season 3 battles at the Two Rivers.
I think it’s too soon to lose Rosamund tbh
I thought so too, but not sure how the show vs book time constraints will figure in.@@KritterXD
I thought maybe Ishy might stab Rand with the unhealable wound and Matt might stab him as a way to counter that wound? Like the 2 sources of evil he’s stabbed with will combat each other enough that they almost negate each other and prevent him from dying from either one? I’m probably reaching lol!
How are they going to fit everything into this episode 🙃
Moiraine kicking Lanfear from the path in the ways would be a cool way to get rid of an unkillable Forsaken
In the show... he didn't.
I don't disagree that his overall path has been pretty good, but by the end of this season we really need to see some semblance of the awesome Rand action from the climax of The Great Hunt.
you nailed Ishamaels tea party
Have you watched the expanse or dark. Both great sci fi shows
Watched and love both!
That is indeed who I meant
What you predict makes sense, there is so much to cram into one episode. This is what I expect to see.
MOSTLY SPOILERS. This for book readers mainly
They must do: Egwene's rescue, the heron sword fight with Turrock and recovery of the horn (maybe Lews appearing in the back of Rand's mind), the whitecloaks getting slaughtered but one of them identifying Perrin and going back to Valda, Ingtar's reveal and redemption as he shields their retreat, the fleet turned to cinders by Rand but Suroth escaping with remnant, Bale Domon rescuing someone and sneaking off, the blowing of the horn with the heroes fighting (including Uno), the battle of the sky, Ishamael defeated, Lanfear rejoicing at that and retreating from the heroes, Masema's madness, Rand wounded and meeting Elaine, Lan and Moiraine arriving too late for the action but healing and whisking Rand off, perhaps on the Spray. We might get a glimpse of a large gathering of Seanchan elsewhere, or Aiel on the sands, but my guess is that the next contingent of forsaken will make an ominous appearance.
Predictions:
Mat “stabs” Rand in a fake out to put Ishy off guard thinking he is evil
We see Gaul and Perrin together for the first but not last time in that bromance
Lanfear tells Elayne, not Min, that Rand is hers while she heals him after he falls from the sky battle with the unhealable wound
I don't want Hopper dead, I love this wolf so much.
S2 has been really enjoyable. And today we found out the entire season had to be re-written after Barney left. Agree Lan was much better in this episode. As for E8, just seeing 'for the light and shinowa' in the preview gave me chills so i cannot wait.
I missed they had to do a character rewrite, how crazy! New mat is great though!
@@selinabeth4346 there was a rafe interview the other day, they re-wrote the entire season. Origonally they were going to keep the characters together for the hunt, but the mat situation changed that. Agreed on new mat though
I am not prepared for Hopper even though it has to happen 😢
Same 😭
I'm with you on flicker. I don't need that scene, and furthermore don't really get the fandom's obsession with it.
cause it set up Ingtar's redemption.
In you prediction section you kept saying Uno’s ship, but I am sure that was a slip from Bayle Domon. I know you know who that is.
At least we know Rand will be perfectly fine after getting stabbed with that dagger, as we saw with Loial!
Spoiler
Seriously though i guess that will be his gut wound instead of getting stabbed by Turok.
Loial isn’t human lol. It makes sense he’d react differently to the dagger than humans do 😅
@@KritterXD Also, and I think this is important to emphasize, S1E8 never happened.
I liked the Rand Ishy confrontation in S1 E8, but the rest "never happened" (I hope )
fair @@danhenley9495
They won't get out with Uno because Uno is dead.
I think Ny makes a great sul'dam, seen in the preview. The empress (may she live forever) would fear her.
Remember when I said I haven’t watched the promos for this week? 😒
Yeah, it looked fine on the TV but crappy on the computer.
I watched on my nice computer monitor. Guess I need to see it on my 4K tv to make the official call
Not elitist, cos my barely-hanging-on old af laptop also had no issues with darkness. I think it's just a per device think rather than newer Vs older
Makes more sense
He can't in the books, either...doesn't Turak make some comment like "is this really what it takes to earn the herons on this side of the Aryth Ocean?"
@@Mrsangeandbellabut then, Rand enters the void (which he has been a-voiding previously, because its close to saidin and channeling, which he is afraid of at this point) in the void, he is a match for Turag.
True.
@@leza4453
@@Mrsangeandbella I don't care really what happens to the books vs tv show. I am just saying Rand has not earned any notoriety with the sword, so it would make more sense if it was someone like Lan, who obviously has. If Rand does beat Turok in 1 v 1 combat on the show, that would just be a poor writing decision. In the books, Rand does defeat him, but at least that is somewhat earned given the training with Lan and the shinarians..
What will happen to Rand after mat stabs him
Uno is toast, sorry! You meant Bayle Domom?
I am just so glad that season 2 is so much better than season 1; that it is ACTUALLY good-great, even.
So many things set up in Episode 7, I think your predictions sound pretty spot on! We'll see in just a few hours. I can't believe the whole season will be done! Thank goodness they're already into production on season 3, but we're still in for a wait! 😳😭
I love the show (second season way more than 1st) but Nynaeve gets on my nerves. She has a problem with everyone/everything and she is constantly unnecessarily confrontational.
You haven't read the books have you?
She’s like this in the books a bit…the early books especially. I didn’t like her at first either
Queen Galdrian might be a darkfriend
Am I right in thinking that we didn't meet King Galldran in the books, either? We get his invitation to Rand, and later we get some Thom stuff.
@@Mrsangeandbella no idea
I agree, the Flicker scene is such a miniscule thing to get in a hang up on. I've unfollowed other UA-camrs because they're being such Book Truthers and the complaints are such a drag.
book truthers, phew. Let me retell you the story of your mom, dad, or spouse. How they are *#*%*#%. Unless they were then your emotion should be if you are a NPC is anger. Staying true to source material is what people do who love it. Your response to that term "book truthers...not even a guess to say you are a social justice democrat over a Wheel of Time Fan.
@@jonahdav9589 how many tens of thousands of pages is in RJs WoT series. I suppose you have a plan for making it into a TV show without any modifications. Let us know when you're able to sell a 15 season TV show to a network. Would I have made all the changes that Rafe and team have made? No. Does that give me a right to be an absolute troll to the show they've put out? No. The Book Truthers are being nothing but trolls.
I can't wait to see Egwaine die on screen, it's gonna be so fulfilling!
But don't you know, she's "unbreakable" 🤣
The entire Damondred family "drama" was a waste of time. Was it good TV? maybe. But given how many meaningful characters and plot lines are needed to tell the actual story, it is was not a good decision by Rafe. I would have rather had more time with Matt, Min, Loial, and Ingtar than watching the details of a dead-end side plot.
We didn't even get a wedding (crashed by Lanfear)!
Lan's moment? Moraine stole that with her dagger kill on a Myrddraal earlier and here again, Moraine would have known she was shielded as she would have sensed the source.
Flicker flicker flicker? No. Angreal, No, Red door, No. Hate letter to source material tea, yes.
