We use our Stihl unit to take outr wide lower branches all the time. Eliminates a wide spread of branches when falling the tree. Saved a lot of landscaping plants this way without climbing.

I use it almost daily. In my opinion it is a much better tool than the gas powered. All of my equipment was stolen and when I repurchased this was one of the first things I bought. I recently used this when tip pruning a pecan tree for weight reduction. Being able to hold the saw to max extension and cut without exhaust in your face is awesome. I have been surprised with the power as long as its sharpe. Plus the design of the large handle on the bottom is helpful and better than the gas. It is also isn't as wide as the gas which makes using it in a tree easier. However, any pole saw is going to be cumbers0m this is probably the best option on the market.

Use the Stihl Product out of the box Petrol never skips a beat great if you need to work on Tripod Ladder even just to clear a route

Doesn't look dumb , it's another tool in the toolkit . I don't have anything Husqvarna so I bought the DeWalt polesaw ( for my few acres , I'm not a pro ) shares the battery with my other yellow stuff , one thing I like is the head is slightly angled so it's more of a downward cut . I like the telescopic aspect of the Husky , the DeWalt has an extension piece which you add in for extra reach . I think you'll find plenty of use for it Jeff .
A bit off topic , I recently had the line clearance guys on my property because it was safer than working from the road side , 2 bucket trucks and a chipper with bin truck , they did 100% of the work using saws that were hydraulically powered on shafts about 8' long , absolutely powered through the work . My road frontage is nearly a kilometre and 11,000 volt lines run past so it was worth coming onto my property instead of doing traffic control as well .

Pole saws are very handy. I've had a Remington pole saw maybe 20 years now which I got a lot of use out of. It's super heavy though as it is a two-in-one tool; a corded electric chainsaw that affixes to the fiberglass poles. Some of the plastic where the bar bolts grab started to fail. So about a year or so ago I grabbed the corded Harbor Freight pole saw since it had a coupon for $50 I was like heck, if I get one pruning job out of it it's worth. It has worked well, still a bit head heavy when fully extended albeit nothing like the weight of the old Remington. I will definitely buy a cordless pole saw once I find I need one though as I have loved the handiness of the corded versions.

I use a pull saw and lopper more. Notch with a Silky and the hard the to get lopper. , 20ft. But I do use a battery pole and a kombi. the kombi is too heavy, but with a 90 or 131 it cuts bigstuff

As far as looks you can call it whatever you want but they're very good and very uesfull... you'll love the 1/4 pitch though... cuts so much faster and will save battery. You will have to learn how to do some cuts so not to get pinched. I often take mine up in the bucket. Can reach SOOO much more 😊

We use the Sthil Kombi’s all the time. Of course saves tons of time and climbs. I don’t think we’ll go to anything battery powered. Those sthil power heads have the power to put as many extensions your shoulders can handle. And they cut through some big limbs too.
Enjoy mang ! Keep on doing great.

I’ve never used a pole saw that wasn’t Stihl, but I would like to try some others because the power head itself weighs so much it seems something lighter with less power could be nice also!

When you are above something that can't be damaged just make salad with a polesaw. Cut everything into small pieces that aren't heavy enough to damage things.

Looks ain't everything! 😜 Whatever gets the job done. Lighter/finer bar and chain makes sense.
As a woodworker I have Hilti, Makita and Mafell batteries. I love'em all (though wish I had the sense to streamline). If you're doing a lot, having two batteries makes sense, as there's always one charged, but I recognise the crazy cost at the high end is an issue.
