I am going to take it easy and gross around $160k/yr from July onward. Can work harder but would end up paying 6 figures income tax and pay division 293. So I would rather have more spare time instead.
They could've just raised the tax-free range, and everyone would've benefited from it, especially the lower income people. Raising the tax free also aligned with inflation, 18.2k in 2024 is not the same as 18.2k in 2014
@@Bokgat tax free bracket is not a free money. They need to actually work! Raising the tax-free range will the lower income people higher fighting chance in this inflationary situation.
@@musemellow most people working are above the tax free bracket except retirees like me who earn on investments. Most people who are unemployed earn below 18,2 k per year
The unemployment benefit range in Australia, also known as the JobSeeker Payment, is as follows ¹: - Single, no children: $762.70 per fortnight - Single, with a dependent child or children: $816.90 per fortnight - Single, 55 or older, after 9 continuous months: $816.90 per fortnight - Partnered: $698.30 per fortnight - Single principal carer granted an exemption from mutual obligation requirements: $987.70 per fortnight If you multiply fortnightly by 24 fortnights per year it ties in quite nicely
They tried that with the miners and they threatened to move off shore. Julia guillards downfall. Also we don’t tend to discriminate tax wise across different corporate sectors. That’s a global thing.
