Self Catering: Can You Do A PROPER Weekly Shop In GRAN CANARIA?

We were staying in a villa for the week and wanted to do a full weekly shop. While there are loads of supermarkets around, a lot of them are quite small and won't have everything you need. This Spar is massive, spread out over 2 floors, with a huge meat counter / butchers, a cheese counter, fresh fish, live lobsters and a bakery - everything from toothpaste and toothbrushes, to mops and buckets, to bleach, to batteries, to deodorant, to magazines, to pet food - honestly, this is just like your local big Tesco or Sainsburys.
It's also close to the cab rank, so you can either carry your shopping 2 mins up the road to it, or pop up there and ask them to come down and get you (we took our cabin cases to use as shopping bags!).
The address is Carretera General C-500, 46, 35120 Arguineguín. Arguineguin is in the general region of Mogan, just to the south of Puerto de Mogan.
I get it, shopping is not necessarily top of the list of things to do in Gran Canaria, but if you do need to do a big shop while you're here, then hopefully this video helps.

This is our favourite supermarket in Arguineguin. The supermarket at Sunwing is too expensive, so I walk all the way to this Spar. Going back to Arguineguin in a few months time, looking forward to it😊

The price difference in different supermarkets is really big! We liked this supermarket too - it has practically everything you could want and a good mixture of local and international products 👍 I hope you have a great time when you get there ☺️😎🌞
