Hi! I am from Gran Canaria and I am delighted to see what people from other countries of the Canary Islands think. Obviously I know English but I am a Canarian at heart❤
People from other countries think that people of the canary islands is extremely rude and misogynist. No, we don't think you are nice or kind. We think you are violent to women travelling alone.
@@Llam-Amex2663 what? That’s a lie. I’m a foreigner from Romania but I have lived in England for 20 years. I have went to 70 different countries Abdul have never met someone who believes that. Keep your opinion to yourself
Good guise! I was born in Gran Canaria and I love my island. It is a place where you need a push, like yours though to go explore fantastic places. The whole east side of the island from Las Palmas to the south is not pretty and as a tourist, this is mainly what you see but there is so much beauty elsewhere its astonishing. I took my son there and we went exploring the micro climates from El Sur up though Fataga, then Roque Nublo and then down to Las Palmas. He will never forget it.
14:44 is incorrect, Roque Nublo is not the highest point of Gran Canaria. It's height is 1813m, making it the third highest, behind Morro de la Agujereada with 1956m and Pico de las Nieves with 1949m
An important note! Like in many places in Spain most shops close on Sundays and for lunch (13-15) so you won't find much to do in the big cities, definitely use Sundays to go enjoy some nature
LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA is a great base for the Island..I ALWAYS stay at HOTEL PARQUE off San Telmo explore !..there is more to the island than YUMBO CENTRE.
I'm from the Gran Canaria and it's great to see my island getting some love and not just the south being advertised! Next time check that you're pronouncing stuff properly with locals though, cause most of the stuff you said in spanish was really off jajaja hope I'm not being too blunt (it was cool to include Guillermo though so people watching can pronounce stuff properly!)
Superb video. Many thanks. When, in a few weeks time, we stay at Maspalomas, from where we usually take a trip to the beautiful village of Fataga, or the little town of San Bartolomé, we may go on to Tejeda. The views from there, shown in the video, looked fabulous.
What forms of transportation are there. Can we Hire vehicles scooters etc?.Are there boat rides. How much do they cost. Are there parks to visit. where are the streets and little shops and cafes and markets. What’s the nightlife like for all ages, clubbing or dining.
Made my first trip to GC last october, rented a car for 3 days and did 600km around the island. I highly recomend Fataga, a small village full of artists, straight north from Maspalomas. Also take road GC-200 to Los Caserones, park there and go down to the beach and THEN go back and south through the Rubén Diaz park to a stone beach and enjoy the waves. For some reason every sallad I had on the island was a disappointment, maybe because I didn’t have sallad for main course, but still, very basic and boring. Hope I was just unlucky. We went through Las Palmas on a Sunday noon, NO traffic, NO one out and almost no restaurants open. For the driving it was great, but a bit boring when the town was empty. I stayed at El Greco in Puerto Rico, the closest hotel to the beach. Great hotel with great service. But next time I’ll try one on the top of the mountain.
Good recommendations! A note on the sunday thing, like in many places in spain most shops close on sundays and for lunch (13-15) so thats probably why you didnt find much to do, definitely use Sundays to go enjoy some nature
Juba 2 was the grandson of Massinissa, the Numidian king with his capital Cirta (Constantine, east of Algeria). Juba 2 was buried in cherchell ( east of capital Algiers). Not be confused with current Mauretania.
Google maps say, by foot u just need 2237 hours even through u gona need to swim a little bit sometimes. I suggest u to throw each meter a little back stones on the way so that u find ur way back. Enjoy!
I have to say I was a bit put off by the cheerful tone when describing what was basically a genocide around 8:30. Other than that interesting. Perhaps you could include a link to one of the museums covering the history in your next edition. Museo Canario in Vegueta is one sample.
You are dividing our map there is noting called Western Sharah, there is only Morocco. Have some respect to our history, those who call them selves western sharanians are not even Berbers. Dima Maghrib
If u wanna show respect to the land of the Canary Islands then learn some Guanche (you can learn some here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guanche_language) or learn some of some Berber language, the closest one to Guanche is Shilha

@@apokaliptika2663 that's not been my experience, I think you may have met a couple of bad ones. Most canarians are lovely.

Very well done. I especially liked the brief Spanish lesson at the end and the origins of the language on the islands.
Heading to Las Palmas for a 3rd time end of January 😊 I love it 😍
Any suggestions? Can be food or a beach or activities! My first visit is next week!
Super nice! Heading there on Jan06 for my Birthday! Love the island and the language. Thank you !

I’m going to visit soon! I also noticed my last name Bucio is pretty common in the Canary Island hoping to learn about my genealogy.

Mogan Mall in Puerto Rico is spectacular once you get to the bougie section higher up town. Masopalomas probably has something at least equivalent
Beautifully done…BUT WHERE IS EVERYBODY? There are precious few people anywhere in this video. Maybe that’s its charm, no tourists?
Thank you 😊 I film early in the day to avoid crowds and the heat. I also wait for people to leave the shot before filming
16.26 haha you mean it 'seemingly' empties into the Atlantic. that would be quite a water bill otherwise !

If the origin of the current canaries is analyzed. Between 50 and 60% of the genes are aboriginal; that is, from the Berber populations.
Am so sad b/c it is Africa not Europe
