From what I have read, Ross was an extremely intelligent person. No one could really take his place in The Wild, Wild West after he had a heart attack.
Carol's daughter, Jody Hamilton, would actually be born on 18 January 1967 in Los Angeles. And the "Carol Burnett Show" would air for the first time nine months later in September 1967.
Ross Martin had a law degree. He died too young from heart attack. His Wild West Co-star Robert Conrad just passed away this week. Carrol Burnett Show was must watch TV started 1967.
Carol Burnett was one in a million on these game shows. Approachable, always hugged or touched her partners (most other “stars” are aloof, or in fact seem offended when an excited contestant touches them). A true star. Funny, sweet, the best.
@jdbarry30. He was the main reason why I watched "The Wild, Wild West" show too. I just loved his character Artemus Gordon. Ross Martin was an excellent violin 🎻 player in real life!!
Ross Martin had a fishing cabin in the town I live in, saw him all the time, but it did not register with me who he was until later on. He was around frequently. This town is like 6 blocks total so very small.
I'm just noticing the slate-colored desk front and how accurate and solid that color is in NTSC. Hats off the the unsung heroes who "painted" color pictures before they went out on the air!
Always enjoyed watching password. But there's no way I could have been in the audience. Because I couldn't keep my mouth shut😂 I would have been screaming out the answers. But I would have closed my eyes so I couldn't see the real answer
Her name is Carol Burnett. You misspelled her name. She tugged her ear 👂 as a sign to her grandmother- not her mom. She wasn't allowed to verbally tell her grandmother on the air that she loved her so she and her grandmother devised a system where Carol Burnett would tug her ear to let her grandmother know that she loved her.
Ross so didn't fancy the lady contestant with the blonde bob at all...... 😁 I've never seen him before but he seems like fun, I'll have to Googly him. I love Password because some of the stars I've not seen before, so if they seem interesting I Google and watch stuff they are in, amazingly it's where I first clocked Carol Burnett and I love her now, fellow Taurus that she is!
@JasmineSurrealVideos. You're wrong about Ross Martin not liking the blonde with the bob hair style. They got along great!! I know because I have been reading body language for over half a century. Btw, Ross Martin very clearly said that "she's wonderful."
These are great. You get to see Hollowwood stars at their peak. And Allen Ludden has a great sense of humor. What a difference from those pompous snobs on "What's my line"
Arlene Francis pompous? Oh lord no, she's very hearty and amusing, lively, I think Bennett Cerf could be a bit smug and John Daly, Dorothy Kilgallen is just a little eerie, very clever lady though. I prefer Password though, it's much more fun and relaxed, and Allen Ludden is more genial and pleasant than John Daly.
For "Grand" after the clue "Piano" I probably would've said "Large" with a quick movement of my eyes to the other team to communicate that I'd want the contestant to refer to the previous clue.
The mid 60s were a really special time -- after the super conservative upright fashion trends of the 50s and before people began to look tacky and cheap in the 70s.
First off, 1966 is late 60s- not mid 60s. Second off, I was a young teenager and then in my 20s during the 1970s. I wore beautiful dresses then because I'm an extremely feminine woman!! Nowadays, there's no way that I would EVER wear the stupid black spandex that you're talking about!! I have SEVERAL beautiful dresses, blouses, and shirts. Btw, there are plenty of women just like me!
Wow these Two contestants sucked on ‘grill’. I was a tremendous fan of Ross Martin and Robert Conrad on ‘The Wild Wild West’, the timeframe is interesting because it was Fridays from 7:30 to 8:30 and it conflicted with the Man from uncle which I think was from 8 o’clock to 9 o’clock on another station the wild wild West one out on that one LOL
It wasn't until 1966 that all 3 networks broadcasted entirely in color in ,Daytime a little later so regularly colored broadcasts was still rather new 1966
Telling of the times, that Alan Ludden didn’t ask the woman contestant what keeps her busy. It was probably expected that she was just a housewife. Just…
@5:23 There goes Allen showing his ass again. You don't cook a pancake on a grill. You cook a pancake on a griddle. And @13:49 Foghorn is one word, not two words as he said.
They must not GRILL everywhere like we do in the south. "Charcoal" would have been a good clue...or "Barbeque." I can't believe they missed the word: "GRILL!" Do they not grill steaks and hamburgers?
Look at the audience, dressed all nice and respectably. Those are the days!
??🥺 IF MY HISTORY DATES ARE CORRECT
(D*DAY) WAS JUNE 6th, 1944.🤔🤷🏼♀️😱
THIS EPISODE STARTED ON THE JUNE 10th,👀 1944 😮😢
I’ll bet you could never meet a person that didn’t like Ross Martin. R.I.P. Ross. I loved your disguises.
He was marvelous
He’s the killer in one of the best “Columbo” episodes “Suitable for Framing”.
From what I have read, Ross was an extremely intelligent person. No one could really take his place in The Wild, Wild West after he had a heart attack.
@@marthawelch4289 He spoke several languages.

Everyone dressed so nice😊
Probably the two nicest celebrities...no egos, no demands...just a lot of fun!
Agree. How could anybody possibly dislike either Carol or Ross.

@@rmelin13231 He was my favorite actor in The Wild Wild West. His performance in Experiment in Terror showed his acting chops.
Ross Martin was one of my favorite actors! He was so handsome too.
The Wild Wild West had the best TV theme song ever.
Carol's daughter, Jody Hamilton, would actually be born on 18 January 1967 in Los Angeles.
And the "Carol Burnett Show" would air for the first time nine months later in September 1967.
Carol was so cute acting and funny. I have always loved her!
I liked the way that Carol Burnett said "I love you" to her grandmother by tugging her ear. 👂
Ross Martin had a law degree. He died too young from heart attack. His Wild West Co-star Robert Conrad just passed away this week. Carrol Burnett Show was must watch TV started 1967.
That's a shame, he seems like a lot of fun.

OMG, I never noticed Ross Martin is quite attractive and seems quite genuine. Beautiful smile.
Carol Burnett is stil alive :-) 88 yrs old
90 now year 2024

Beautiful lady, at any age!
@user-lu9hq6jv4v Yes she is.

Wow, look how people in the audience dressed. I remember when people cared about their presentation when going out.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Now that im older, i can see how charming Ross Martin was
Carol Burnett was one in a million on these game shows. Approachable, always hugged or touched her partners (most other “stars” are aloof, or in fact seem offended when an excited contestant touches them). A true star. Funny, sweet, the best.
Ross was a very handsome man. Actually, he is the main reason I watch Wild, Wild West. I love his character and his disguises on the show.
Yes, and Don Knotts was incredibly handsome too.
Me, too. He was a brilliant man.
I'm handsome as well.
@jdbarry30. He was the main reason why I watched "The Wild, Wild West" show too. I just loved his character Artemus Gordon. Ross Martin was an excellent violin 🎻 player in real life!!
It was Sherlock Holmes & Doctor Watson...classic
This is one year before Carol started her legendary show.
IKR? Alan calls her like a 'new kid' or something?

This took me back! (I liked it back then at just 16!!!) Thank you! The beloved Carol Burnett and Mr. Martin!
I was 13! Those were the good years.
I was 9.
I’m in Sherman Oaks right now!! Man I love these old school game shows.great times
Remember Queen for a Day?
So heartbreaking that Ross Martin is gone. Just a very, very interesting performer to watch. I speak of his various capacities of tv appearances.
He’s a minor villain in “The Great Race”, one of my all time favorite films.
Loved him as Artemus Gordon on Wild, Wild West.

Carol looked good in this and pretty much ever episode of password she was Nice & dressed Beautifully.
Such good clean fun.And well dressed, well groomed people🙏💝🙏
Allen and Ross both passed within a month of each other in 1981 .
Back when we had real funny and clean shows
We were all able to watch as a family

Love seeing the Stars enjoying the game 👌🏾✌️👍🏼
I loved the way that Ross Martin gave his clue for "romance." 😅.
I love how evrtone (men) dressed to impress. So refreshing and respectful.

The interruptions for other shows was one of the things that drove people to cable tv.
Allen and Betty White were very much in love. They were so cute (and frisky!) together when she was on the show with him.
What fun. Didn't get to see the show with these two celebrity guests before.
He also was a violin virtuoso at the sge of 7!
Mary Louise is just adorable!
Love these old episodes wish this would redo this show with UA-cam personalities I think it would be amazing
I am not sure it would be that great with UA-cam personalities.🤦♀️
I love these shows better.. and love the way the sets look
The Wild Wild West was one of the most imaginative and original shows ever on TV. Its a sham it was canceled.
Look at Carols face when Joellen sits down.
I can't imagine why I found this entertaining at one time.
Because it was and still is entertaining and fun!
Carroll tugged on her ear even back then to say hi to her mom
Her name is Carol Burnett. You misspelled her name. She tugged her ear 👂 as a sign to her grandmother- not her mom. The audience is dressed so nicely. Today they wear gym shorts and tights. No respect.
One of the first things I noticed!

The host was Betty Whites husband.
Foghorn is one word😊
Al's hair is on point!!!

Charcoal grill
I was wondering why no one said “charcoal” as the clue for grill.
For "Grand" after the clue "Piano" I probably would've said "Large" with a quick movement of my eyes to the other team to communicate that I'd want the contestant to refer to the previous clue.
I'm here after watching Eunice Play password with Dick Van Dyke in the elephant joke episode.
Ross Martin’s thinking, “This guy’s a dolt.”
Notice how they really used their brains on this show. Compare to today, where everyone's brains are like oatmeal.
Not everyone
Bot, if that ain't the truth!
👍 Indeed!
And people were nice to each other despite occasionally disagreeing on things.
Ok, grandpa let’s get you to bed
The new Password on NBC with Jimmy Fallon needs the LIGHTNING ROUND Machine.
Good times.
Brilliant
The audience is so dressed up!
Say charcoal for grill people!
They did!
Interesting... very interesting.
At first I thought that Carol Burnett said "a bright," but then I realized she said "Albright."
For "Private," I would've tried doing the Passwordian opposite-ish "language" of stretching out the word "Public………"
Or “confidential”
Carol was truly funny!! Without bad language or nudity or violence. I can’t stand modern sitcoms
There is some guy back there who got carpal tunnel from hitting that button so hard when they are correct! 😅
Carol Burnett what a hottie
The grill one was so easy...
Women were so pretty, then.
I thought someone would use "canyon" as a clue for "grand."
That's what I would have used.
Good one. I was thinking of the word "....finale" as a clue.
The mid 60s were a really special time -- after the super conservative upright fashion trends of the 50s and before people began to look tacky and cheap in the 70s.

Too funny. Oatmeal or scrambled eggs into day.
They really dressed up. You don't see that too much these days.
I’m looking for all Carol Burnett in color on password
Nobody was fat back then
I don’t think fast food was as popular back then. People ate healthier by cooking their own food and staying home.
Because women cooked from scratch and not so much junk food.

And she does "Tarzan", too! Ah-ah-ah, ah-ahhhhhh!
How did these people get on this game show... 😳
HEY, THAT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!
Foghorn is always spelled as one word, why do they disqualify it as a 2-word clue? 🤨🤷♀️
That's a good question.
Allen Luden was a great host!
Wonder why the 1966-67 season was the only one in color?
It wasn't until 1966 that all 3 networks broadcasted entirely in color in ,Daytime a little later so regularly colored broadcasts was still rather new 1966
I believe this was done in Hollywood. They had the facilities to tape in color rather than New York.
That's about the time all tv shows went from black & white to color.
The first one was just painful to watch!
I remember when people dressed up to fly
They were also dressed up just to go to the supermarket.
Omg why didn't anyone say charcoal for grill!

Charcoal
Mary Louise won $550,which would be equal to $5300 in 2024
Increased by a factor of almost 10 times. Seems kind of high.
Allen Luden 😂
@5:23 There goes Allen showing his ass again. You don't cook a pancake on a grill. You cook a pancake on a griddle. And @13:49 Foghorn is one word, not two words as he said.

They must not GRILL everywhere like we do in the south. "Charcoal" would have been a good clue...or "Barbeque." I can't believe they missed the word: "GRILL!" Do they not grill steaks and hamburgers?
Notice they gave Carol the start of both of the first two words, but gave the second word for the men to the male contestant. So isn't that wrong?
Carol Burnetts child is now 56 years old.
Jody was born January 18,1967
Carol is cute and sharp on these shows but she talks way too much before, during and after giving her clues.
