Years ago I got back some loose change from a vending machine which came a red coated dime. When I used to like selling coins on eBay, I actually sold the copper coated dime for $18.49. I’m still kicking myself for it. It was literally coated all the way around, front and back except for a small silver patch that was exposed. This is how I desrcibed it on eBay: 2001-D (ERROR-US COPPER COATED DIME$$). The person that bought it responded: Wow so RED!!! I love it!!! Thank you a bunch!!! Maybe I should have had it graded before I sold it.

I truly enjoy your numismatic informational videos. In this video I couldn't help but notice that you did not mention the rarest full bands dime of them all in the 1990s, the 1991 Denver dime with full bands. I always look forward to your input on any coin you decide to make an informational video about so the 1991 FB Denver dime would be greatly enjoyed by myself and the rest of your UA-cam video fan base. Thank you for continuing to help all in the coin collecting world with your numismatic information videos.

I just received a 2017D Dime in uncirculated condition with the reverse side barely stamped. I have never have seen anything like that, and I got it from McDonald's in change. Evidently, they use older boxes of change that they sometimes kep for decades. They also gave me a few other coins in chage that wewre brand new, from the 1960s to early 1970s. One of the pennies was listed for over $3,000.00 on an internet site. Nice to get such valuable coins, just for eating at McDonald's!

That's so funny because I'm American born and raised. My 8 year old kid is very much into collecting coins. I hate it when a Canadian coin shows up in my change...but he LOVES it. He gets rolls of coins from the bank and searches through them to look for a collectible. We once found a very shiny mint condition looking Canadian coin that looks like a US quarter. It's worth 0 in America but it's one of his favorite coins so it's definitely valuable in our house

Hey J&B, I wasn't aware of any west point dime so thanks for that.
Now the 1995 "PIME" that you spoke about, is that the only one or have more been discovered?

You SCARED me. I thought you’d found there were errors on the two PCGS graded dimes I contributed! Whew! Nice instructions on dimes after the shock!
