Btw guys if your building this on bedrock the red stone is slightly different. Instead of repeater just have normal red stone dust and instead of trapdoor have a spruce slab.
OKAY! PRO TIP - If you are having trouble with your zombie attacking villagers behind lecterns - go ahead and replace the floor the zombie is on with slabs, which will lower him by 1/2 a block - for some reason this works and clears his pathing to the villager. Villagers will still be trapped and zombie will travel around as normal. Not sure if this is a 1.18 thing but it's working great now. **EDIT! The situation I was experiencing was due to me building this for practice in *creative mode* - I could not get the zombie to aggro onto the correct villager because it could not aggro me, the player, as I was not a target in creative mode. Once I turned on survival mode, the zombie would lose aggro on a villager (likely across the room) and aggro onto me, then once it lost aggro on me, it would target the next closest villager, which is very often your intended target. Lowering the zombie helped it not be able to see the far away villagers and aggro the closer villagers better in creative. Apologies, I didn't realize this until I started a new world and built this again but in survival.

Quick small tips for those who don't have nametags, you can throw something pickable to the zombie (a block of dirt, sword, etc...) if he picks it up he won't despawn. Quite helpful if you want to make a iron farm at the beginning of your world and you don't have a nametag yet
I did a block-by-block tutorial of this and ended up with two extra villagers in the middle of my top floor. I came looking for Copper and found GOLD!!!!!!! Thank you Shulkercraft, you da man, boss
Hey, guys break the block next to the villagers so they can see each other and then place a bottom slab. This way once you trade a lot or heal villagers they actually tell other villagers(as long as they can see each other) and the other villagers reduce their prices. The bottom slab is there so the zombie villagers can't attack the normal villagers.
Love love love this tutorial! I have never seen someone use areal camera angles weather from up high, top down or head on, its always been very limited and by god does it make all the difference in the world. If it's not a thing or you havent started a trend -yet- you definitely will! The transitions were super smooth, and you slowed the pace down and held the camera still when viewers needed to see more details. Even the sped up footage helps you understand exactly why and where every block is placed. 10/10 video! I can confidently say that I did not have to rewind this video once to understand what's going on, I look forward to future videos from this channel! Even though this was a relatively straightforward build, you showcased the build from top to bottom with deliberate and clean editing, without rushing or leaving anything out. You my friend, have some talent in your hands! Great blocking 🎥
1:14 Thats why i love shulkercraft. He counts the blocks in cam and says count 14 and place on the 15th. I hate tutorials where they just say 15 blocks und you dont know IT you habe to leave a 15 block gap or if the 1. And 15. Block need to bee the start and ending blocks or mabe only the first or the fifteenth and a 14 block gap.
1.18.1 java. The lever flaps the trapdoor on the sticky piston, which causes the villager to phase through the piston. With a half slab instead of a trap door, the villager only phases through the half slab when it is up, instead of the entire piston. He stands on top of the slab when it is down. The zombie can reach him when it is down.
For bedrock players make sure that you put the repeater right beside the piston otherwise it will not work for bedrock also to make that work put the liver 1 blockdown
I am making one recently not finished yet... currently it has 23 villagers mostly librarains with wonderful trades and that's one level...I would like to build a few more layers This video was helpful as it gave me more inspiration and motivation to keep going Thanks 💖
Just a quick tip: if you are struggling for name tags (e.g. you are early game) then you should be able to drop the zombie a tool to prevent it from despawning - wooden shovels are especially cheap at 2 wood each, so you only need 3 logs extra and you can save lots
the videos you make are by far the most enjoyable tutorials for minecraft. Relaxing music with good video editing and easy steps. Well done and keep up the good work ;)
So I had to adapt to the comment for Bedrock users even on Java because the trap door opened and closed whenever activating the piston. So fix was to elevate the 2nd floor so there's now 2 layers of Stone Brick blocks and an additional set of stairs overall extending the entry by 1 block. I also extended the posts up by 1 block as well so instead of the "2 logs 1 note block 1 log" it'd be 3 log, noteblock, 1 log. You also get a choice of block for whatever you want it to be for lowering and bringing back up the villager. This opens up possibility to people not super far into the game to start out with regular pistons and use colored concrete powder, or sand/any block that wants to fall because gravity. To summarize, I added a level upstairs and dug down a level for the pistons on the ground. Replace all repeaters with a redstone torch attached to the block of the lever. Below the redstone torch add some redstone dust. Thus keeping the piston active until lever flicked. Add any block desired instead of trap door BUT (I forgot to add) you absolutely NEED to add a trap door on the block when the piston is down. (This will allow the zombie to still attack the villager without letting the villager run around after turning.) Sand/concrete powder/gravel if uses REGULAR pistons. Sticky pistons use any block desired. Also then adjust the pillars on the upper level to fit aesthetic. Hope this helps someone! If people message me or enough people need further help I can make a quick video of maybe like 30 seconds with approval of @shulkercraft
I make this trading Hall and it's absolutely very amazing , I scam villagers , and I am able to make a emeral beacon in just a week and still have many left , I recommend you to buil this , works fine in 1.17
I love your videos, always so precise and easy to follow. ❤ Just a tip for anyone building this in survival, after you dig the cave out switch your beacon to a jump boost to make block placing and getting around really easy.
Hi there, so I realized after a lot of trial and error that the lectern has to be facing the villager to restock. They don’t need beds or anything, you just need to face the lectern towards the villager. Thought I should comment in case anyone was having the same issue.
No you can still make villagers into zombie villagers in normal mode but they just have a chance of dying but in hard mode they will always become zombie villagers 👍
Great video Shulkercraft! Just wondering if adding slabs instead of the note blocks will allow gossip and get better trades quicker? Not sure if that is needed but just an idea :)
@@MinecrafttTiger yea but that's not his point. If you replace the noteblocks with bottom slabs the villagers can gossip and if u heal one or trade a lot with one villager, it'll tell the others and they'll also reduce their prices. But if u kill a villager like that, then the other villagers will see it and increase their prices so makesure u block it up if ur disposing a useless villager...
I figured out the problem with them not restocking. Similar to what Chika Libuku said in a previous comment it has to do with the workstation. However it doesn't HAVE to be next to them, it does however work like that too if you want to move the location of the workstation. What is happening is when you zombify a villager & cure them they are disconnecting from their workstation in front of them & reconnecting to a new one. It might not ALWAYS be the one in front of them, even IF another villager is attached to one for whatever reason (Guessing it's a bug). Best thing to do is place a fence above every workstation & then destroy them all (the workstations) & replace them one by one. What I did was place the fences on top of each workstation, break all the workstations, then replaced the spot I broke the workstation from with another fence & then broke all the top fences. Seeing the particle effect can be a bit hard through the fences. After that just place each workstation one at a time within the area & look around for which one is attaching to it. Keep breaking it & replacing it till you find the villager it's attaching to. It will be the same villager every-time until you place a 2nd workstation without breaking the 1st one you placed. Once you find the villager, place a fence on top of the bottom fence, break the bottom fence & then put that workstation in front of them & they'll attach to that indefinitely, rinse and repeat. Just make sure you do this AFTER you've turned them all to zombies & cured them or you'll have to keep doing it & that will get annoying xD
When you are moving the villagers into their chambers you should use slabs because you can crouch under them but they can't escape. Edit:You can use trapdoor too.
I’ve made a different farm by logical geek boy, and was able to save potions by turning three villagers into zombies, and throwing the potion at the one in the middle, then feeding all of the golden apples. There were slabs in between each villager but I’m not sure if that’s needed to make this possible
If anyone is gonna build a trading hall PLEASE DONT DO THIS this is terrible advice and it just becomes more burdensome when all of them turn themselves back into zombies. Even moving them away from each other is a pain so just craft an extra weakness pot it isnt that hard.
i tried this in creative and still didn't get all the right enchantments after 2 hours. wow i don't know how it's possible to get the best enchantments on survival.
You just have to keep resetting one villagers trades (break and replace lectern) at a time until it’s the book you want. Then lock it in and commence the turning/curing process. (Hard mode so it’s 100% turn rate) It can take a while, but every best enchant is possible for 1 emerald and 1 book. I’ve done it multiple times, it’s just a grind. I recommend doing it only in your survival world so you don’t have to repeat the entire process after getting it in creative
First video I’ve ever seen, me and this guy have a very similar building style and use similar pallets but I never would have thought to use the note blocks as an accent. Cool build
For those on bedrock edition: the entire upstairs needs to be up one more level so that you can take the Redstone repeaters away and use Redstone dust another block below the lever to the sticky piston. The repeater only lifts the trapdoor in bedrock. Also I replaced the chests with just more spruce log because the chests don't work with the slabs on top I put 2 chests under the stairs on each side instead. Last I have to say the more I look at this build the more I find wrong with it in bedrock, the zombies vs villager death rate, not attacking the zombie before you put him in so he focuses the villager, or do we even need the zombies in the back after you've turned everyone. Please do your research before building this in bedrock.
I'd like to now add that in bedrock the pistons and Redstone is ultimately useless the levers don't reroll the villagers so you have to manually remove the job block and replace it for job roll. Also I just learned that stairs work better on each side of the front of each pillar in front of the villagers so xp doesn't get trapped. Still refining this build but this video deserves credit for major inspiration.
very useful tip if ur zombie isnt attacking villanger on 1 side build a wall to block line of sight from other side of room they are aggroing to other villagers opposite sides
For the trap door issue on bedrock 1.19 using a redstone torch instead on the repeater and placing redstone dust beneath the lever will make the piston activate without the trapdoor flipping up.
UPDATE: IF YOUR VILLAGERS ARE NOT RESTOCKING THAT MEANS THEY ARE NOT ATTACHED TO A BED. GET UR VILLAGERS OUT OF THEIR SPACE, MAKE A BOX FOR THEM, GIVE THEM A BED AND GIVE THEM THEIR WORKBENCH (NOT IN THEIR AREA, IN THE BOX), LOCK IN ANY TRADE AND THEN PUT THEM BACK INSIDE THEIR SPACE. AFTER HE'S IN, REMOVE THE BED AND REMOVE THE EXTRA WORKBENCH AND UR PROBLEM IS SOLVED!!
THIS DOESNT WORK ON BEDROCK. Do to the redstone being different, the piston isn't powered by the repeater. Even if I run the redstone underneath I don't have enough room to do that on top as well. If you want to do this on bedrock, zombify and cure the villagers before you put them in.
@@KrishPatel-bh9hf it still powers the trap door itself edit: I just tried it and it powers the piston and the trapdoor aswell. If the trap door isn't necessary then you can do it like the video
I REALLY recommend placing another trapdoor below the chests and above the lecterns (just shift click them under each chest) This will prevent the villagers potentially being punch-boosted onto the lecterns when hit by the zombies.
Or you could just find an extra and go to end cities because just like that I got over 3-4 stacks of shoulder shells in 1 hour by killing them(with looting 3)
Not suitable for the latest versions (1.20.4), the flap opens at the same time as the piston rises. Some people claim to have found the solution in the comments, which is to place redstone under the lever, but when it comes to doing it on the top floor it is unfeasible. Otherwise the video is fine but the creator could have specified the version so as not to waste my time.
i did everything exactly as he said in the most up to date patch. it worked perfectly. you either did something wrong, didnt follow instructions correctly, or are on the wrong version.
Great video. Have to ask before I build it, but in survival won’t zombies be able to attack the villagers through the single space above the lectern? Or is that just part of its maintenance considering its not too hard to periodically heal them?
Pro tip: place redstone torches on the sides of the blocks with the levers on them instead of using repeaters. This way, you can remove the levers and the stations will still be up. Plus, it's cheaper!

Quick small tips for those who don't have nametags, you can throw something pickable to the zombie (a block of dirt, sword, etc...) if he picks it up he won't despawn. Quite helpful if you want to make a iron farm at the beginning of your world and you don't have a nametag yet

Hey, guys break the block next to the villagers so they can see each other and then place a bottom slab. This way once you trade a lot or heal villagers they actually tell other villagers(as long as they can see each other) and the other villagers reduce their prices. 1.18.1 java. The lever flaps the trapdoor on the sticky piston, which causes the villager to phase through the piston. With a half slab instead of a trap door, the villager only phases through the half slab when it is up, instead of the entire piston. He stands on top of the slab when it is down. The zombie can reach him when it is down.

at 9:20 the placement of the blocks lines up with the beat of the song haha nice
If someone would intentionally made me in zombie and then healed me, i would never give him discount for the goods.
Thanks

Just found this man AGAIN I don't know how I forgot these legends
Just make sure you do this AFTER you've turned them all to zombies & cured them or you'll have to keep doing it & that will get annoying xD
thx bro, your comment saved my life
Since the repeater doesn't connect to the piston use redstone dust but if the trapdoor flaps, use slabs instead. (For bedrock btw)

Make a small storage with stripped spruce logs (if you have sone left) 😉
When you are moving the villagers into their chambers you should use slabs because you can crouch under them but they can't escape.

Omg hi shulkercraft!
I’ve made a different farm by logical geek boy, and was able to save potions by turning three villagers into zombies, and throwing the potion at the one in the middle, then feeding all of the golden apples. There were slabs in between each villager but I’m not sure if that’s needed to make this possible
That slab allows the villagers to gossip and therefore lower their prices without being converted
Bro if you mass convert theor job sites could get messed up and all your efforts would turn into straight BS i did the same mistakes
If anyone is gonna build a trading hall PLEASE DONT DO THIS this is terrible advice and it just becomes more burdensome when all of them turn themselves back into zombies. Even moving them away from each other is a pain so just craft an extra weakness pot it isnt that hard.

rip sorry
You just have to keep resetting one villagers trades (break and replace lectern) at a time until it’s the book you want. Then lock it in and commence the turning/curing process. (Hard mode so it’s 100% turn rate) It can take a while, but every best enchant is possible for 1 emerald and 1 book. I’ve done it multiple times, it’s just a grind. I recommend doing it only in your survival world so you don’t have to repeat the entire process after getting it in creative
Yep it’s tuff, first time I tried getting mending it was just 90 minutes of placing a breaking a lectern. Melted my brain

First video I’ve ever seen, me and this guy have a very similar building style and use similar pallets but I never would have thought to use the note blocks as an accent. Cool build
I was hoping it would be named and act like the “Frick Chamber”.
Trust me, it works very well(with added fun for the villagers)

Loved your Storage Room design and I was wondering if you guys could make a video for a 1.17 Villager Breeder?
THIS DOESNT WORK ON BEDROCK. Do to the redstone being different, the piston isn't powered by the repeater. Even if I run the redstone underneath I don't have enough room to do that on top as well. If you want to do this on bedrock, zombify and cure the villagers before you put them in.
