Nice to hear someone else who got this vibe. I've heard the First Ones stance compared to the method presented for Aang to tap into the Avatar state, but what they never remember is that there were many steps for Aang to go through before he could reach that point. The First Ones were demanding that level of personal sacrifice from the start, and that's just not emotionally healthy, to the point that even if they were right about Mara's actions, I still blame them for pushing her in that direction. What I want to know is, will we ever see a LIVING First One?
History is written by the victors which makes it hard to trust. Yet, the victors will usually say the losers are lying when they try to tell their story and because the victors are, well, the victors, we're often inclined to believe them. That's not to say everything victors say are lies, but it's never good to just blindly trust things without thinking long and hard and coming to your own conclusions.
Hmm, are the humans in etheria even native? There are a lot of animal based races in but, if light hope is an accurate depiction of a first one, then they look, mostly, just like any regular human. It's said that the first ones civilizations are gone, but could it be possible it's *people* are still present and thriving? Or are the humans of etheria just a completely unrelated species? The lore of this world is so interesting to me, I really hope it gets explored in season two!
I would think that Adora is the only first one on Etheria because light hope said the sword can only be used by a first one and that is why it had to be Adora
I'm loving these discussions on She-Ra and I agree with your points. All we need now is for Discount-Supervillian to make you some thumbnail and outro art and it'll have everything. The way the temple and light hope drove a wedge between Adora and Catra seemed very deliberate to the point of manipulation. It'll be interesting if anything else comes of this.
I think the Catra who left Adora hanging was not the real Catra btw... Maybe it was just a hologram and Catra left before that/was directed to another memory
Interesting idea, I really like the concept! Also as others have said, I think Light Hope structured the flashbacks to turn Catra against Adora so she could make Adora 'let go'.
We know from recent episodes that Hordak entered Despondos (the pocket dimension) on the field of battle with King Grayskull 5,000 years ago. By using his wraiths he wanted to open a portal there to send Grayskull and his people, the Ancients and the Elders, there...
Yeah, didn’t she say she was the only princes without a runestone? Like how do they choose a princes? If it isn’t just that you have to have a runestone, why doesn’t just anyone start up a kingdom with enough people and declare themself a princess?
...possibly a long-standing lineage of engineers that kept their knowledge in the family and that she is the inheritor of? Just spitballing here, but it's a neat idea.
Light hope definitely manipulated both catra and adora in episode 11 when she showed memories regarding times when catra was belittled / thrown aside for adora because she knew it would make catra act out and adora to "let go". I'm really loving these she ra videos!! I was wondering if you would make one specifically dedicated to catra and adoras relationship, or more specifically, where you think it'll lead to in the future?
When Light Hope wanted Adora to stay and train for years and isolate herself... doesn't that sound like an abusive relationship to you? I don't trust Light Hope. I also agree that there must be something up with Mara, more than what Light Hope tells us. We don't hear Mara's side of the story. We only hear Light Hope's.
The thing that stuck with me is how evasive Light Hope was about the previous She-Ra. Something about how she "let emotions cloud her judgement." One thing's for sure, *I don't think she went crazy.* It's more likely she made an empathetic, emotional choice that put the world in danger. *Something like how Adora doesn't want to let go of her connection to Catra.*
Honestly, I wouldn't be so quick with jumping to conclusions - don't get me wrong, what they did with Eternia was bad and pretty evil - but we see that only through the eyes of the inhabitants of Eternia and later Mara, which means without the aditional context of the first ones actions being layed out. From what we can see in the show, the First ones were facing some powerfull enemy - probably Horde Prime ( which is supported by Horde Primes comments on the first ones ) and it seems that they were loosing. They were running an interstellar empire and most likely engaged in pretty high level galactic politics and interstellar warfare on multiple fronts. Eternia for them was just one of the planets they settled on and they were loosing multiple planets to Horde Prime, so what I see as most likely was, that the government of the first ones decided to use Eternia as a weapon of mass destruction against Horde Prime in hopes of turning the tide of the war and in that sacrifise it to save the rest of their planets ( possibly the rest of the universe ). Even in these times, it appeared to be a controversial decision, as it was highly classified ( possibly to not spark some sort of protests among the first ones citizens ), but even than there were people who were part of the project and opposed it ( aka friends of Mara and Mara herself ). It also doesn't seem like they were planning to use Eternia as a weapon from the start - after all, they lived there normaly ( as seen in that episode where they go into the village with ghosts ), having kids, living normal lives. It seems that the decision to use Eternia as a weapon came in later, which would support the explanation that it was supposed to be this last hope wonder weapon that would prevent Horde Prime from winning. Whether that was the way to go is questionable, but it's hard to tell since we don't have much info on the whole situation. As for the actions of the first ones outside of this whole thing, they didn't appear to be particularly evil - the residents of Eternia don't seem to be all that angry about the first ones - that may be because they are long gone, but even in times of Mara, madam Raz ( the only Etherian we are shown in these times ) doesn't seem to be like hostile towards them in any way. The way she speaks about them is more of a ,,those foolish younglings don't understand this place'' vibe rather than ,,I hate them and hope they will leave'' vibe. All in all, they seem to coexist peacefully with Eternias. From all this I would probably conclude that they were not neccesarily evil, but rather were pushed to evil actions by outside forces. Though than again, it is hard to judge them, since we don't have enough info on them. It could be that they were evil all along, but it could also be that they were forced to act evil by their curcomstances - I incline towards the latter.
One thing is for sure Light Hope and first ones seemed to have different priorities then those who alive on the planet now. However we don't know if first ones were everyone form different planet or bunch of beings that valued their since and logic above morality and feeling. So I could see such individuals see She-Ra role not as a person who is protecting balance of the world but a walking tool/weapon for that purpose . Kinda putting weight of the role above humanity not only of She-Ras but those around them.
I think this is what happened in season 4. When you find out ligit hope was the bad guy, I think the first ones wanted to take Etherias magic. That’s probably why they sent Shera to go to Etheria, since Mara “failed”, light hope waited until another Shera was born, and then restart the process over again.
Here's another possibility. They were running from Horde. Horde Prime was steam rolling the rest of the know universe and had been for some time according to Hordak. Apparently they were looking for a way to stop him and went too far.
I feel like She-Ra Mara's downfall was brought on by her making a different choice than Adora. When Light Hope tells Adora to let go, of sentiment, of her affection for Catra (evidenced both literally and emotionally), Adora chooses to let go of the ledge and fall, presumably letting go of that sentiment. Maybe Mara made a different choice, refused to even go that far, to let go, and that's where the problems started. I really hope they explore Mara further, and bring back Razz! There's such an interesting story thread there. As always, amazing video! You always present your theories and supporting evidence in a really clean way that's so much fun to watch. (PS: If you made videos all about Catra, I'm pretty sure none of us would object :D)
I like her! I see her as chaotic neutral, she don't give no fucks who she's working for or what the consequences of her work are, good or bad. As long as she gets to science!
Ive always liked the character archetype she falls under, and she herself is no exception! While a heel turn is a bit jarring, it really isn't her fault. It seemed like dryl was never really in direct conflict with the horde to begin with, likely due to the fact it had no runestone to conquer, and catra played with her feeling right after, in her view, her friends had just left her behind with no valid reason. While I do believe she's probably going to be the first, and easiest, horde princess to be redeemed, I also think her joining the horde makes a lot of in lore sense.
Casey Chandler I agree I didn’t really like that the other princesses consider her dead just because they left her behind and it makes catra’s words seem true I feel like she’s does have tendencies that could make her seem evil or good but her intentions are purely based on her love for science not hurting anyone on purpose
I thought it was pretty damn clever of them to foreshadow the heel-turn in the opening sequence. Think about it, she's the last princess to appear before the group image of the Horde. She is the literal transition point between our heroes and villains.
It really is too early to say if the First Ones themselves were/are dangerous or if it's just their technology. Light Hope is just an AI after all, with limited understanding of humanity. But with Mara, or even other She-Ras, we don't know what the situation of Etheria or other worlds were in their lifetimes. Could the good the First Ones started become corrupt along the way? Is Light Hope going Hal? Just throwing out some possibilities.
I wasn't taking it seriously at first, but I'm starting to back the idea that Hordak is a First One, or at least some creation of them. They settled Etheria. They're the ones that turned it into the bizarre technoplanet it is today. Where on this world do we find the most technology? *The Fright Zone.* There's so much of it that it convinces Entrapta to stay there to experiment with it all. I'm reminded of what the Diamonds in Steven Universe did to planets, _and that's not a good sign._ To give them the most benefit of the doubt, the Fright Zone might be a perversion of their tech, akin to the virus that infected Adora and her sword.
Another great She-Ra video! I do see your point on the First Ones, it makes me wonder if in season two we will find out more on what they were like as a whole society as from what you’ve mentioned theres a possibility that the other Princess’ might have a direct link to the individuals of the First Ones who created the Reune Stones (I may have miss spelt that) that the Princess get their powers from. As this was mentioned by Entrapa near the end of season one. (I also might have miss spelled any names that I have mentioned.)
The fact that Light Hope told Adora that she had to separate herself from her friends and "let go" of them definitely seems like a big red flag. And Light Hope is an AI - Her thinking is emotionally detatched like a robot. She's seeing She Ra as more of a tool than an actual person... If that makes any sense
You and I had the same thought!! IMO Mara was actually good and held off the first ones by sacrificing herself. Light Hope painiting Mara as bad makes me not trust LH at all
If horsey doesn't trust 'em, I don't trust 'em! Hehe for real though, if the first ones are the bad guys then the hoard is child's play. I'm super intrigue by Mara, there is more to her for sure.
Can I say there one big flaw in that theory, it assumes that etheria was not created by the first ones. At this point were don't know enough to make any solid theory. we need the history of monarch themselves and why the system was used in the first place.
I believe the first ones were Etherians (the homeworld of Prince Adam/He-man). I think Etheria was probably a close to dead world when the Eternians arrived. In the original series, they were technologically advanced, and seems like something that they would/could have done. I think they had it in mind that the universe needed guardians throughout space, and built up Etheria for these reasons. After all, she calls out to greyskull for her transformation. We have Skeletor who we can obviously assume is on Eternia, and Hordak his old master on Etheria. Also they name drop Eternia at the Crystal Castle so..
Is no one else going to acknowledge that in the season finale the horde despite being experienced in battling princesses were taken down easily. It basically went tidal wave, ice tidal wave, flower tidal wave. It seemed as if those princesses where a lot more powerful than She Ra considering how hard time she had taking them on. Granted this simply could just be due to her not fully mastering her powers yet. On another note how did the princess alliance fail if they could just take down entire legipns of them just like that. It looks as if they could all just march straight to the horde's base just like that and take it down with ease.
i feel like even now season 2 is out and season 3 is coming soon, this theory still holds so well. the first ones and their (harmful) relationship to etheria could be a parallel to humans on earth, exponentially damaging the planet with pollution causing climate change etc, leaving people to think that leaving the planet and settling on a new one (mars, etheria, etc) is the only option. maybe mara found out what the first ones were doing, and their potential plan to take over more and more planets, fully integrating technology and destroying them slowly, and That's why mara isolated them. hordak and his plans with the portal are still somewhat of a mystery, but his plans could be similar to the ones i'm theorizing about here with the first ones colonization. they could also be draining the planets resources to create new tech or weapons, leaving planets a hollow lifeless shell that is defenseless and powerless without technology to support it. maybe.....
I don't like the First Ones either, but I kinda assumed Etheria was entirely technological, or technological to a degree that it required the gemstones as a sort of release valve.
If you want to do more theorizing I would want to see something on hordac's identity. Is it something massively far-fetched such as him being a first one or the king emerged as a new person after "dying", or is he just a person.
I just need to get it out, but I SINCERELY hope that Adora becomes troubled when she learns Entrapta is still alive, like, in a 'how could you not check??? or even try to check??' because y'know they just kinda looked at the door and shrugged their shoulders like 'well she's dead' and didn't.... even approach the door. I really love Entrapta, and I'm hoping she returns to Adora's side. On the subject of horde-allied princesses, I'd like to see Scorpia try to connect with her runestone. I don't really hope for any potential result more than another, so much as I'd like to see some more actual development on her, so far she's just an airhead that isn't always an airhead, and I'd like to see more of a... not exactly serious, but... honest? I feel like the talkative bubbly thing is at least in part an act (I do think she was genuinely lonely and honestly appreciates having Catra and now Entrapta around)
I’m sure they weren’t the first settlers there. They must have come to the planet for something else. I’m thinking there was another society of beings there that had something that the First Ones wanted. What if all the First Ones ruins are actually ruins from the other society? What the First Ones claimed those as their own? What if the reason the First Ones came to Etheria was because the other society was extremely advanced and they wanted to use that for themselves? It all makes you think...
Ya know, in the original She-Ra, it was Hordak who invaded Etheria and formed the Horde. He actually used a portal to get there from another dimension where he he was originally from. Perhaps the First Ones corrupted their own dimension with the power of runes stones? Were the rune stones so powerful that a single Dimension couldn't handle i, and so broke off a piece of itself, transplanting it into another universe all together, where the first ones discovered Etheria?
They do seem a bit like the gems from Steven Universe tbh. Perhaps maybe Hordac has ties with them? But *I* wanna know where Adora came from! There is a pretty high chance that if Catra is indeed a princess, and Adora is as well, perhaps she and Catra were stolen from their homes? Maybe she's from Eternia? Maybe she is tied to Mara some how like a reincarnation or a daughter something cause they said Mara placed "sentiments over duty" possibly hinting at a family?! Maybe she descended from the First Ones cause Adora has memories of being a baby on a spaceship?! I need answers damn it!
The first ones remind me a lot of the jedi orde. Anyway there are a lot of similar elements between she-ra and star wars - rebels and just star wars in general. (I'm not saying it's the same, or that it's a copy)
I'm so here for this show. I'm excited to see if he man shows up. Will she ra/adora return to her parents in eternia? Obvi eternians are the first ones and adore and Adam (he man) are from eternia. Will we get an reboot of he man? If not will he at least show up? If yes will skeletor show up. I need skeletor
Thank you for discussing about she-ra, most of the content regarding this series have been mostly shallow critics of the show, because of... well, we all know why So, you uploading content regarding this series that engages with the fandom is great. thanks a lot!
@Jeremy Jones I feel like the "being annoying" part is more subjective than anything. I happen to love all of the main characters, but if you don't like them, that's totally fine The show has a very simple approach to story telling and writing, it's not like the best thing since slice bread, but it does it's job and it does it nicely enough so, no
I have seen no such shallow criticisms beyond a few that find the art style ridiculous and ideologically driven, most people seem to think the writing is garbage and the voice acting is absolutely abrasive at times. This was clearly made by propagandists pandering to a specific group of feminist zealots...I still like it though, but I can at least recognize that most of the criticism it has received is valid
I would like to hear your opinions on Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous). It's really interesting and visually pleasing, esp for a cgi anime. And keep in mind that the show came out in 2017 but manga/source material came out in 2013
My evidence of this is A. they have the same company running them and B. This would be good business wise for the said company to have a She Ra Voltron crossover
I think they aren't Eternians, but something older that collapsed for some reason. Eternians figured out how their tech worked and it ended up in the wrong hands and that's how Hordak reached Etheria.
Ciuu u. He could be one but, I really think that hordak was one of the original settlers in Etheria, Wayyyy before the first ones colonised Etheria. The first ones must of done something to the planet to make to make hordak want revenge. I think that’s why he wants to kill adora because she’s she-ra and also one of the first ones. (MY THEORY AND MY OPINION)
are the first ones from eternia case the pas word adora used to open the door on light hope's place and the she-ra sword transform adora in to she-ra when she seed for the honor of grayskull all that involved's things from he-man's world
@sliceofotaku you really need to at least watch the first ep of OG she-ra. They reference it tge OG show a bit and I think knowing what happens in the start of the OG show can give you ideas of what we might see in this reboot

Since Adora is said to be a descendant of the first ones and she's human like everyone else... I seriously doubt that they weren't human
I LOVE how right he was. It was so correct it was kinda brutal XD
Interesting idea, I really like the concept!
Also as others have said, I think Light Hope structured the flashbacks to turn Catra against Adora so she could make Adora 'let go'.
This aged well
We know from recent episodes that Hordak entered Despondos (the pocket dimension) on the field of battle with King Grayskull 5,000 years ago. By using his wraiths he wanted to open a portal there to send Grayskull and his people, the Ancients and the Elders, there...
a video on Entrapta is needed becous something about her fells wierd
Ooh, an in-depth analysis from Papa slice for best princess would be so cool!
Your right I watch season 4 and you're right
When Light Hope wanted Adora to stay and train for years and isolate herself... doesn't that sound like an abusive relationship to you? I don't trust Light Hope. I also agree that there must be something up with Mara, more than what Light Hope tells us. We don't hear Mara's side of the story. We only hear Light Hope's.
Can we all agree that Entrapta is best princess? Because I think Entrapta is best princess XD
Pretty sure that's Scorpia lol.
@@tvesrb Entrapta is best Princess, shortly followed by Scorpia.
What Light Hope said about She-Ra Mara sounded very Jedi.
The thing that stuck with me is how evasive Light Hope was about the previous She-Ra. Something about how she "let emotions cloud her judgement."
One thing's for sure, *I don't think she went crazy.* It's more likely she made an empathetic, emotional choice that put the world in danger. *Something like how Adora doesn't want to let go of her connection to Catra.*
I think the first ones are the true villains that started it all
Honestly, I wouldn't be so quick with jumping to conclusions - don't get me wrong, what they did with Eternia was bad and pretty evil - but we see that only through the eyes of the inhabitants of Eternia and later Mara, which means without the aditional context of the first ones actions being layed out.
I literally just finished watching this I still don’t know how to feel about entrapata tho
Her main drive is to learn and explore -- wherever she can do it works for her.
AnimeAngel88 perhaps the first ones were all infected by the same virus entrapta encountered
Oh god, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that something seemed off about the first ones! XD
I think Omara did what she did to protect the planet...
We need to spam the chat with she ra and maybe catra
the first ones are actually eerily similar to gem society, being colonizing space beings who use stones for power
I like this idea it’s a nice parallel to our world
"Maybe it's because Thanksgiving just passed ... I'm suspicious about trusting the colonizers"
Yeah! Right! Exactly!
1:03 that's a big ass mood
How do you feel about the theory of Shadow Weaver erasing Adora’s promise to Catra that she would never leave her?
Little did you know lmao
I love that Thanksgiving is your stepping off point for "Don't trust colonizers." That's 100% legit and also hilarious.
Intresing I wounder would they implement grey skull in this show besides a power up phrase
Seems less don't trust the first ones (if they are who I assume they are) and more don't trust Light Hope.
Do another theory on catra
You're one of my favorite kinds of people.
Lighthope is really old and has been inactive before Adora found the sword so maybe Lighthope’s senses of right and wrong maybe a little messed up.
it's looking like to me that this whole war between good evil is being setup to be in the end between the princesses,Horde & the First Ones,
Finally find someone disscursing this cartoon, I really like it the new version!
i feel like even now season 2 is out and season 3 is coming soon, this theory still holds so well. the first ones and their (harmful) relationship to etheria could be a parallel to humans on earth, exponentially damaging the planet with pollution causing climate change etc, leaving people to think that leaving the planet and settling on a new one (mars, etheria, etc) is the only option. maybe mara found out what the first ones were doing, and their potential plan to take over more and more planets, fully integrating technology and destroying them slowly, and That's why mara isolated them. hordak and his plans with the portal are still somewhat of a mystery, but his plans could be similar to the ones i'm theorizing about here with the first ones colonization. they could also be draining the planets resources to create new tech or weapons, leaving planets a hollow lifeless shell that is defenseless and powerless without technology to support it. maybe.....
I am comppletely open to more catra videos.
So the First Ones are like Homeworld Gems?
Also I love Catra too! I would love to see more vids on her.
I thought that was yellow and blue diamond fan art in the thumbnail at first lol
I hope Entrapta stays with the Horde. In the Alliance people would just keep getting mad at her again.
Adora most likely was kidnapped from Eternia & Catra is a Magicat.
@@wardlafferty362 Yeah that make sense
Is it possible that the first ones may have had their planet colonized by the gem homeworld?
The first ones sound like the diamonds to me... I want the next seasonnn :(
The first ones remind me a lot of the jedi orde.
Thank you for discussing about she-ra, most of the content regarding this series have been mostly shallow critics of the show, because of... well, we all know why
So, you uploading content regarding this series that engages with the fandom is great.
thanks a lot!
@Jeremy Jones I feel like the "being annoying" part is more subjective than anything. I happen to love all of the main characters, but if you don't like them, that's totally fine
The show has a very simple approach to story telling and writing, it's not like the best thing since slice bread, but it does it's job and it does it nicely enough
so, no
I have seen no such shallow criticisms beyond a few that find the art style ridiculous and ideologically driven, most people seem to think the writing is garbage and the voice acting is absolutely abrasive at times. This was clearly made by propagandists pandering to a specific group of feminist zealots...I still like it though, but I can at least recognize that most of the criticism it has received is valid
I'm completely fine with tons a of catra vidoes
I would like to hear your opinions on Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous). It's really interesting and visually pleasing, esp for a cgi anime.
And keep in mind that the show came out in 2017 but manga/source material came out in 2013
I CANT FIND ANY VIDEOS ON MARA PLEASE DO ONE! NO CLIPS NO EPISODE REELS
THE FACT ADORA IS A DECENDANT OF THE FIRST ONES is just-
Amazing Video
My evidence of this is A. they have the same company running them and B. This would be good business wise for the said company to have a She Ra Voltron crossover
The thumbnail looked like blue and yellow diamond(Steven universe) in anime
Well Adora I think is seamlessly a descendant of first one.
They look like The Squip from 'Be More Chill'
Are you going to continue your queens of mewni series?
I thought the thumbnail was Yellow and Blue Diamond. Lol
Well maybe they were expanding an empire. But if they’re called the first ones, maybe the other races brought them to Atheria
I'm curious about something wasn't greyskull the place that gave he-man his power I thought that was a different planet or is that on this planet
I think they aren't Eternians, but something older that collapsed for some reason.
Eternians figured out how their tech worked and it ended up in the wrong hands and that's how Hordak reached Etheria.
Im more excited
I wonder if the first one were the future us
Maybe I missed it, but I don’t think they properly introduced the shield function of her sword, and that bothers me.
Please do more Queens of Mewni, stopping with Solaria is kinda ending it on a low note.
Also, do all the Catra videos you want.
Could hordack be a first one
Yeah, light hope gave me a really shady vibe.
Hay Swissvale taco do u think that som of those characters look like the diamonds from steven universe
I don’t trust light hope at all.
are the first ones from eternia case the pas word adora used to open the door on light hope's place and the she-ra sword transform adora in to she-ra when she seed for the honor of grayskull all that involved's things from he-man's world
How did legend of korra turned into She-ra?
@sliceofotaku you really need to at least watch the first ep of OG she-ra. They reference it tge OG show a bit and I think knowing what happens in the start of the OG show can give you ideas of what we might see in this reboot
(Not sure If this was written yet 😅)What if razz is Mara????
