Thank you for taking the time to make such an informative video. Just starting out and really appreciated how you talked about what you were looking for an listening for while sharpening.
I bought the Hapstone for its versatility and after sharpening a few knives, I had questions. You answered every one of them in your videos, especially this series. From the positioning of the blade (centerline and straightline from choil to tip) especially as it relates to repeatability, to methodology behind removing the burr and trailing on the higher grits. I’ve watched a ton of sharpening videos and yours is the first that would rate a spot on professional course websites. It is hard to believe your low subscriber and view rates but I would put my money on you if you stick around and keep making content. Thanks, good luck and I have Subscribed.
Your videos really helped me understand what I was doing wrong with my blade alignment as well as technique for re-profiling. Keep up the good work, hoping to see a pm2 or pm3 sharpening video in the future. *Subbed*
Really enjoyed this little series. I’ve been playing around with edge trailing strokes only while sharpening as well and do think I tell a difference is the edge when it’s finished. Seems a tad more refined and even think my front end sharpness is hanging around a little longer. Tried after watching David’s videos on these stones.
Normally edge trailing strokes will other than stropping give a lesser edge. However, with these stones they are so soft edge leading stones call micro cutting into the stone grit and dulls the edge. They are just too soft for my uses. I wasted my money on them. Venev stones do not have this issue. KnifeMaker

Same, here.
Been watching many tutorials before attempting my first try with my new TSPROF - and this little series has been very helpful...
