Nice work, and I've enjoyed watching these.
I just picked up an Atoma #140 from Gritomatic to reprofile a hand-forged Coolina.
I've heard good things about the #140 - and also about these Edge Pro abrasive stones...

Im stealing the tip of finger on tip of knife trick to prevent rolling over with the stone. Thanks for sharing.

Your thoughts on the Matrix stones are quite interesting. I got the Venev "Orion" stones from Russia for quite a discount so I went with them. Might have to pick up a Matrix stone for testing in the future. I had heard that they were a softer resin and were not so good on softer steels. I eventually want to check out a lower grit metallic bonded CBN stone for roughing work but the cost on them was quite staggering, especially on the 120 grit.

I have both the "Orion" stones and the Matrix stones. The Matrix stones cut much faster. You need to clean the stones with magic eraser after each use to prevent them from loading up. The 250, 650 and up to the 4000 are great.

@@barkingspider2007 Use trend diamond sharpening fluid and you will never need a magic eraser again. It prevents loading on Veneve stones. Edge Pro stones, (Columbia Gorge) are another matter. They load badly and do not give a crisp cut for me. Like you, I find them to be too soft.
I'm trying the Edge Pro Stones but so far, not very impressed. The Veneve last longer, cut faster and give a crisper edge. If you buy the dual sided stones, the cost over all is much better as well.

@@michaell397 Sounds like a good idea.
I will give it a try. The other thing you can use is "Megulars" car window cleaner. It has no ammonia and works well for steel diamond plates. $14.00 for 32 oz.
Much lower cost. Thanks for the tip. 😁👍
