    Just helping someone who has a doubt. I am normally size 8.5 but ordered extra wide, unfortunately 8.5 extrawide felt like 9. So i went half size down to 8 extrawide. They are great boots. Thanks for the video.

    Bought the 8" i90 a week ago. I work commerical construction as a carpenter.
    Opinion:
    1) comfortable insole, makes working 12-15 hours per day an ease on the back and feet. But, toe needs to be a bit wider as toe blistering on big toe will happen for people with wide feet.
    2) the leather is NOT thick. It needs to be reinforced with more leather or a stronger leather. second day in I slipped on some black dirt and the toe hit a rock and tore the toe. Not impressed, now I have to go out and buy tough toe, when in reality a tough toe should have been added for wear & tear protection. Not sure why he is promoting it as thick leather. I condition these boots every so often depending on work environment conditions. the leather is weak.
    3) boot is not insulated and is not water proofed. It snowed a week into purchase. Very wet and cold outside as temps where -7 C in the Colorado low that hit us. Feet where drenched through my 12 hour shift, all I was doing was walking through snow building to building completing tasks. Short exposer to wet conditions = feet totally soaked.
    4) treads on outsole are great, easy to clean off mud build up and hold up to being used as a tool sometimes.
    5) laces need to be changed out, they don't hold a loop knot and always come undone. Maybe replace with a flat waxed lace?
    6) the speed hooks are great. But the first hook at ankle level if tightened to comfort, will create a pinch point in which the only way to stop it is, to keep the lace in those hooks loose, and tight lace before and after the hook. Seems to work for me.
    7) inside the boot, the lack of insulation inside creates a horrible ankle form in the leather where the seams are. Both side of the boot on both feet have that seem grind into the bottom of my ankle bone. Doesn't create blisters for me, but it creates pain no doubt, but feet get used to it by end of day. Might break in after a couple weeks who knows.
    8) I probably will not re purchase these work boots again. Unless they address these changes. I love the look, but not going to sacrifice comfort again on next purchase.
    This boot would be great for a factory worker, or someone not exposed to outdoor elements. Take it from a guy that's actually been in a harsh environment working all day, putting these boots to the test.
    The guy in this video is definately being paid for this promo. Didn't even hit on the issues with the boot. Got the boots for free for plugging them. Good job bud misleading others for your own self gain. Asshole.

      @@jamestingay1936 thanks for the feedback! If you have a receipt, I would recommend returning them and getting something a bit pricier. You can never spend to much on a good pair of boots. Your feet, hands, and eyes are the most important tools for work and need to be pampered with the best PPE.

    • @InDecibelOffical
      @InDecibelOffical 4 роки тому

      @@jamestingay1936 also it's only been three months in since I bought the boot, and already I need to replace. The exterior sole is cracked all over, the leather has a hole right through it right before the little toe in the side of the boot. Absolute garbage product, but I guess that's what you pay for at 189.99 on sale for a low qaulity boot. Looks nice, but only in non practically environments. :P

    Great review 👍 I have tried on so many boots in the last few days. I have a sorta flat wide foot and let me tell you when I came across these I took a step into heaven. I am currently wearing the I-90 soft toe version of the boot you are holding ..they run for me alittle big but that for me is a good surprise..
    I LOVE THESE BOOTS..
    I'm currently shopping for another pair but in a mocha toe that's a little wider.. I have huge paddle feet and I'm a 400 lb man with horrible back problems .. that's why I went with a flatter sole.
    I wud love to get a wedge mocha toe with the machined eyelets and hold on the I-90.. I've had them for 3 months and I can barely see any wear on my rear corner of my right heel sofar.. I destroy shoes for my size and yet I love wearing these I-90 all day long in house and even outside working in the ditch cleaning it out from 3' of dirt sediment build up..

    Just recently picked up a pair over the weekend. Found that immediately upon putting them on they fit well on the foot, stiff around the ankles at first. But it only took me a day of lightly wearing them before I had realized; that these were the best goddamn boots that I’ve ever bought on sale at Miller’s Surplus for $81.90 after tax.
    Just finished my evening applying mink oil to them and boy howdy, these sumbitches took to the oil treatment like juicy dark fruit. They ripe. Oiled the laces too. Confident and ready to be new boot goofin’ in the Fab shop tomorrow morning!

    I own maybe 8 brands of boots, never found a Wolverine product I liked besides 1000 mile which I chose not to buy. As far as Durashocks I feel like many companies use the name for springs, basketball shoes, I think dynaforce is basically redwings equivalent of what is essentially nothing but a "buzz" word.

    91/2 EW 8” , got the right size shoe but the height where the eyelets are gets wobbly, broke them in without the insole and now trying to find the right insole without scrunching my toes at the toe box is a bit of a pain , theyre nice to look at but they got to do something with the toe box, or at least post on their website what the actual inside parameters of the shoe are, something that I have noticed nobody really does

  • @samwinglewich2133
    @samwinglewich2133 2 роки тому

    I used these 6 days a week years ago for landscaping and light construction, and I wanted to like these, but the fit was kinda wierd. The standard size feels like a wide. That "super heavy duty" speed hook is absolute trash and pulled out within three months. Also, those eyelets shred the laces and are very difficult to get tight. I never had a lace to toe that i struggled to get a decent fit from. For the same price, I'm going with Direct Attatch timberlands, more attractive, water resistant, and the upper/hardware is simpler and longer lasting..

    I can tell you that between 2008 and 2011 all the guys where I work we're disappointed in their durashocks and basically said never again. a lot of their soles actually broke in half. They look good but it's not a boot that i would ever buy. It's definitely not a winter boot. It looks like it has some grip on the bottom but in fact in the winter months it would not be a good boot for me. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good boot for everyone but definitely not a boot for me. Also the shack absorption that you talk about if you have to bend a lot and get down on your knees, I guarantee you that black plastic is going to eventually peel away from the soul and those types of boots that have this on them are never a good buy in my personal and humble opinion.
