After a 25-year hiatus, the full-size Ford Bronco is back. The original “sports-utility vehicle” pays homage to its predecessors via boxy proportions, round headlights, and short overhangs, while introducing cutting-edge convenience and off-road technologies.
Like the first Bronco of the 1960s, this reborn model is aimed squarely at the Jeep Wrangler. Both SUVs utilize rugged body on frame platforms, can remove their roofs and doors, and look appropriate for a night out or a day on the trails, but while the Wrangler retains a traditional solid axle setup front and rear, the Bronco adopts a more refined (though potentially less capable) independent front suspension.
In this in-depth review of the Ford Bronco First Edition's exterior, interior, and driving dynamics both on and off-road, Miles (who owned a JK generation Wrangler) pits the Bronco against other capable rigs including the Jeep Wrangler, Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro, and Land Rover Defender.

Have a lot of respect for this guy, I definitely wouldn't driving that fast in baja mode on that particular road with the cliffs.
Honestly, it speaks to how well the Bronco handles this stuff. I wouldn't drive this way if I didn't feel VERY confident in the truck.
@@MilesPerHr what off-road area did you take the Bronco on? looks like you were driving through carbon canyon as well 👍🏽
Perfect review! I saw my first bronco on the road the other day and I really felt like I just saw a Sasquatch haha. Hard to come across. But man, the best of both worlds, the drivability and off-road capabilities, and the rugged look. I was thinking of getting a wrangler, but I’m unsure if I can now after watching this .
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I really do think the new Bronco has the edge on the Wrangler, especially as a daily driver.
On that intro you were singing that San Andreas K-ROSE Country song🔥
Willie Nelson. 😉
Best review video I’ve seen so far. I should be getting mine soon and will be watching your video again. Thank you!
You're gonna love the truck - enjoy!
OK I watched every review on utube and this guy is by far the best reviewer so far. Good job! Glad you like the Bronco! My first edition will hit the dealership on the 28th. Can't wait!!!
I appreciate the feedback! You're going to love your truck - enjoy
Impressive review
Great job
Love the way you handled the speed on the mountain road overhangs 👍
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great review/video.
Thank you for taking the time to film this video and sharing it with us. I appreciate it. 🤟🏼💯🇺🇸
Thank you for your encouragement!
Excellent review, as much as I've had a few wrangler's, this will be great competition and may even bring the prices down, never cared for the Bronco's and no fanboy-but I've seen the new bronco and they are wide and first generations well we will see. I think this will go a long way and I'm quite sure they will make a killing with the mods. Yet I'll stick with my JLUR. I do like the red ones that I've seen.
Had a 94 Bronco with 35s for my first car. This is definitely in contention for my next vehicle.
It should be! I was blown away
Those mid 90's "OJ" Bronco's are awesome. I love that body style.
I'd love to be able to go back in time and pick up one of those in good condition and bring it to my current self. 🤭🤫😂🤟🏼💯🇺🇸🔥
Everything is awesome about this video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Very comprehensive review
Fantastic review. Thanks MPH!
My pleasure!
Amazing review! Thanks 😊
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked it 👍
Excellent review… thank you! My 2022 ob on order
Good choice! Enjoy it!
Great review! And fully agree w all points.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great vid!
Thanks!
Great video 👍
The longitude and latitude numbers are where the new Bronco was born (location of all testing research and development) oh and the seats in the back do recline just a bit lift that lever at top and push seat back to the rear.
Thank you for that insight!
Baha mode on the side of a mountain jumping first edition. You sir are a legend
😆
The best review on Bronco so far.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome review ever milesperhr, this 21 ford bronco first edition is a ultimate American iconic off road ready beast looking SUV, What a powerful twin turbo V6 engine under the hood, And beautiful lighting blue metallic exterior color for sure.
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Excelente Miles.
Best bronco review I’ve seen.
I'm glad you liked it!
22:02 It takes me to a place in Johnson Valley, CA
The blue accents on the interior seem similar in color to what Ford is putting into the Maverick as well.
10:50 Holy DANDRUFF Batman! You've got to be kidding me! That's worse than dried up foam shedding from an old damaged headliner!
I quite like it, I don’t know why people hate it so much
I haven't met many people who hate it, but I'd love to hear their reasons. The new Bronco is a huge win.
The latitude and longitude on the top frame are a location for the Rubicon trail or something like that, forgot what the trail called.
Awesome review ! You can tell you do your research. How many hours did you play with this thing before recording ?
Glad you enjoyed it! I had a few days behind the wheel before turning on a camera.
Thanks for the vid.
The Goodyear Territory tires are not mud terrain tires... Goodyear MT stands for Maximum Traction. The rear bumper on the First Edition is steel... the top cover piece you called a ridge plate is plastic. The rear seatback angle can be adjusted, but it is a very slight increase. The closest you can get to a First Edition is by opting for the Badlands, 2.7L/Auto, Sasquatch Package, Lux Package, Leather Trimmed seats, and MIC top.
Thanks for the info! Sorry I missed those things (and wow that's misleading about the Goodyear MTs...)
@@MilesPerHr … honestly, your video was among the best overview I’ve seen on the Bronco.
It’s Goodyear trying to be different. The MT nomenclature does usually stand for Mud Terrain under most manufacturers.
The reason that I know quite a bit about the Bronco is because I’m in the market for one, but I pretty much do that type of research for almost anything.
that intro caught me like an uppercut
I'm ordering one - but not the sasquatch pkg. The BadLands has the front & rear lockers and the sway-bar disconnect feature I need.
You'll love it
6:09 I prefer those steel wheels on the 2-door you showed there.
I loved those wheels too
The coordinates takes me to some random place in Shangqiu, China, near of a place called Feng County Jiangsu, i'm curious but it has no streetview lol
Thank you for looking that up! I wonder what's up with that?
Where is the place you went off-road located? I would love to take my Ranger there. Great review!
Modjesko Canyon Road 👍
I checked that China's imports cost more than $ 70,000-100,000
Was this a hard or soft top? And how was the wind noise? Test drove a soft top the other day and it was a straight up wind tunnel above 60mph. Hoping the new hard tops will actually be quiet
Hard Top. In the video, I comment on the wind noise. It's loud, but tolerable.
Waiting for that Bronco Raptor review
Hope to bring it to the channel in short order!
Jeep Rubicon 💵🤏🏽👍👍👍👍👍
I heard the Sasquatch wheels throw rocks and pebbles up against the sides and chip the paint.
Jeep or Bronco it is so debatable to me.
hey, would u drive an BMW i8 ? it s my dream car:)
I'd like to, but since it's no longer in production, I'd need to borrow someones (any volunteers?)
Not full size... Stop saying that. Mid sized....nice review overall though. Some people have complained about the hard top noise, but you have mentioned it is no different than the jeeps. Which I would think would be normal, like you said they can only do so much with the top that they offer. Baja mode is crazy in my 17 Raptor. When I first tried it in my truck it was shocking. Do not use it much, I do need to play with it more. Both vehicles have strong points, but over all the Bronco wins for me. It comes down to trade offs of each one really. But competition does improve each vehicle. Look at jeep matching some of the Broncos options already..
Full size relative to the Bronco Sport, because the naming has confused a lot of people. They hear Bronco and think Sport is just a trim level of this truck instead of an independent, smaller model. Yes, this is a midsize SUV.
His do you feel about the Sasquatch as a daily driver? A bit concerned about 35s for everyday driving and regional (around SoCal and West) trips.
I found it to be a totally compliant daily during my week with it. Minimal tire noise (shockingly so)
I am sad it had v6 and n 275 ho at least v8 and 350hp should be good
?? This V6 makes 330hp
Love this truck but the roof was full of debris.
Only if it's non modular, roomier and quieter.
So personally do like the Jeep or Bronco better?
Waiting to drive the Bronco Raptor to compare to Wrangler 392. For now, I'd take standard Bronco v standard Wrangler.
First
Or buy an H3 FOR 10K
Land Rover Defender is better
Sucks how bad Ford dropped the ball.
OJ would not buy this lame vehicle
As far as I remember OJ didn't buy the first one. It was his friends. Not to mention OJ didn't always make the best decisions lol
@@joeblacc8573 sure he did. AC liked it and bought his own.
