    I like your video, I own one also and everything you said is true, only negatives things I found was 1. no warming rack included, 2. the temp knobs take up table space being directly on top of the bbq, and 3. cleaning the grate with a scour sponge when its cold is whats needed as they have a non stick coating. that goes against the kiwi grain. I was taught to do this after cooking while its still hot. other than that super happy with it

      There are many issues, you can't have all burners on high with the hood down or it warps, the grill plates don't sit on the tabs properly, the slightest bump and they fall off, the heat isn't even across the grill, it has a lot of cold spots, don't buy the rotisserie it's made of cheap folder metal, mines already warped after a single use, it can't be used in the rain and since there isn't a dedicated rotisserie burner and Everdure recommend keeping the grates on food doesn't brown, it just spins around, the grease trap is pointless, the BBQ is flat, grease can't run into the trap, it just sits in the bottom of the BBQ and can ignite, the expensive cover isn't made from water resistant canvas, if it's raining the cover doesn't protect the BBQ, it still gets wet, I BBQ all year round, rain hail or snow, I don't think I will be with with this BBQ, it will be a summer only BBQ.

    After 4 years with my furnace: legs are loose, All the screws are rusty, the “special” hinges is acting out if its is hot it wont close, if its cold they are all loose. But it still got the power, thats the good thing

    Hi, on their website they recommended not use anything abrasive to clean it. Out of interest what would you use to keep it clean regularly?

    • @KoruCottageGaming
      @KoruCottageGaming  3 роки тому

      Funnily enough, I have literally just cleaned it before a BBQ party tomorrow. I use a sponge and hot water with dishwashing liquid. I scrub the Plate and Grill in a bucket of hot water with a plastic bristle dish brush. I made the mistake of using a spray on surface cleaner the first time, and it started to take off the text printed around the controls etc... Suuuuper easy to keep clean though.

    Great review! Are the legs as frame easy enough to put together and take apart for traveling?

    • @KoruCottageGaming
      @KoruCottageGaming  3 роки тому

      Thanks! The legs go together very easily. But to pull them to bits to travel will be a bit more challenging. The BBQ can lift out of the leg frame and has small feet it can rest on, for a trip to the beach, campground or "tailgating" etc...

    I've heard a lot about the lid of this bbq not closing because of the high heat. have you had any issues with the lid? Have you tried slow cooking? I just bought the grill in USA because it was on sale but haven't used it yet. I'm hoping it was a smart purchase.

    • @KoruCottageGaming
      @KoruCottageGaming  3 роки тому +1

      Yes. My lid didn't close properly the first time I cooked with it at high temp. But it was just that one time. It has never been an issue after that first cook. I suspect the metal expanded and contacted and settled in. Yes, I have slow cooked Ribs in it. It sits just under 150C with a single burner on low. Lifting the lid so there is a crack, can drop it to 120C for long slow cooks.

    I know Everdure is currently low on stock in NZ for both Force and Furnace. What did you think about the width of the wings?

    • @KoruCottageGaming
      @KoruCottageGaming  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the view and question. The wings are not massive. Fine for utensils, spices and for holding a plate to offload cooked food onto etc.. But only on the left side. As the control knobs take up alot of 'real estate' on the right wing.

    Does it come with 2 grill plates? Or 1 grill plate and 1 flat plate?

    • @KoruCottageGaming
      @KoruCottageGaming  3 роки тому

      In NZ it comes with a flat plate and a grill plate. But I think overseas it is both grill plates. Not sure.

    I have read earlier reviews that the paint the on the lid bubbles within the first year. Any issues with yours?

    • @KoruCottageGaming
      @KoruCottageGaming  3 роки тому

      Hi. Sorry for the late reply. No, thankfully. Zero problems with the paint work on the lid. Only issue I struck was the white paint around the dials smudged when I cleaned it with a rag that had some Spray n Wipe still on it.

    Care to give an update? Hows the grill going?

    • @KoruCottageGaming
      @KoruCottageGaming  3 роки тому +2

      Really good. Did its first big clean-up last week. Took off the grills, removed the elements. Was super easy. Two screws and a bucket of hot water, job done.
      I can't understate how fast it heats up, but on low it does slow cooking too. Did some ribs over 2-3hrs, perfectly.

    Why is it we are always supposedly to be seduced by something such as a BBQ because of its colour and shape, when in the end it's main purpose is to BBQ something and it becomes dirty greasy and black and nobody sits around it because of the smoke. The size of the cooking surface for that price is pathetic, no doubt because the gas limits the heat delivered, and of course the biggest giveaway is the celebrity chef angle, used to convince people to part with £700 for an inadequate family BBQ?

      After buying one I think its a good concept but poorly executed.
