Blue Delphinium is a gorgeous linear flower that has multiple blooms running up the length of the stem with soft green tops. It's perfect when building organic bouquets, centerpieces, and especially works great in large-scale ceremony arrangements, arches, and installations.
While we love Delphinium and its amazing blue color, it is very sensitive and prone to shedding...a lot. Due to Delphinium's delicate nature, they have a shorter vase life than some flowers. They don't enjoy extreme heat, but prefer cooler temperatures.

I love your videos! Im going to DIY my daughter's proposal set up next month, and probably some wedding events. What if you don't have a cooler. Should you add flower food to the water, and crowning glory spray? Also any tips on the mechanics of those cascading floral table runners that spill onto the floor? Are the cages zip tied together or is it chicken wire? When florists use chicken wire, is there a water source or water tubing involved? Thank you in advance!⚘

      Aren't you an incredible mother!!!!!!
      Ok, here are my thoughts:
      - You don't need a cooler for event work. The flowers need to be in room temp for a day or so to hydrate and open, and a cooler would stop that from happening.
      - I do love Crowning Glory, but don't often use floral food.
      - For the cascading table, you can easily use Oasis Floral Foam Garland or floral chicken netting/wire. If you go the wire route, then I probably wouldn't mess with water tubes because it's more waste, work, and they won't extend the life very long. For something like that, it's temporary and your goal is to create the event space so use hardier flowers that will hold up for the day like greenery, roses, carnations, cushion flower, etc!

What’s your opinion on quick dip or crowning glory? Let’s assume we want our flowers (such as centerpieces) to be given to guests afterwards and therefore want them to last as long as possible

Most florists love Quick Dip. I've used it and not used it and to be honest, I can't tell a difference. I've asked other florists if they can tell a difference and the general consensus is "I'm not really sure, but I was trained to use it...".
As for Crowning Glory or Hawaiian Mist, I can tell a difference, especially in hot weather months!

I can't get delphinium to germinate! I live within a zone 8b north central Florida!
    They don't like heat

You're not lying, as much as I love it, it is a pretty fussy flower. But since it's blue, we have to use it....lol

My delphiniums never bloom in room temp! Any suggestions?

Same, I've always found that what you get is what you get! I typically have lower blooms that are open, but the closed ones up top seem to stay that way once they are cut. XXXXX

@@FlowerMoxie thank you for the quick reply! Can you tell me how to get some of these arrangements on a wall without hanging them? I’ve made your urn size arrangements but wasn’t allowed to hang them up. I can’t figure out how folks attach them to places like a brick wall without drilling. Thanks in advance!

@@remij9592 Hmmmm, brick walls can be tricky. I would say your only option would be Command Hooks and Gaffers tape....and a prayer......
