I love these old Eagles, you’re so lucky to have found these! The Limited is such a gem and the fact it’s all in tact is amazing! Keep it original, don’t butcher it up, it’s only original once.
The only person I knew who had one was my first Scout Master. He was a Native American and a survivalist. He taught us the difference between casual camping and real forest camping. We never got to have vehicles near our campsite and he got special permission to camp in the woods, rather than at actual established campsites. We learned so much from him. R.I.P. Mr Hector.
Gotta love Dane. I love that your details are just plain and simple unlike some of the other channels that are just trying to hard by adding unnecessary things that people don't like.
And 1985 I purchased an AMC eagle station wagon which was an exceptional car. In the mid-1980s AMC was sold to the Chrysler corporation mostly for Jeep under the lee Iacocca. AMC was a very good car. Enjoy yours. From Key West Florida.
Beautiful transformation. Looks great with the new chrome spoke hubcaps. Very upscale Eagle, with the "Limited" trim, power windows, power seats. Quite a rare find.
I had an SX/4 years ago, it was a beast in the snow. I wish i would have never got rid of it ☹. Those cars were way ahead of it's time. I never understood why they were never really that popular.
From the UK I've never seen or heard of one of these AMC Eagle wagons but I gotta say it's my favourite car I've seen on your channel so far, retro cars on the trend right now and awesome detailing work it's car therapy watching your videos from across the pond 🇬🇧👍🏻
One of the other two Eagles has the rare factory air compressor/ auto rear leveling air compressor. There should be a hose in the rear to pump up your tires.
My aunt had one it was so solid and beautifully engineered. The handling was tight and pretty responsive. What you just dont feel nowadays. Plus the interiors were very comfy. Ahead of its time and dare I say a diamond in the rough cause you hit the four wheel drive and wham any steep rough road was nothing! I WANT IT!
My dad had an 84/85? eagle and a 81 concord. He loved the eagle the way people love their pets. He totaled it when he hit a deer the first day of deer hunting season. That car towed our pop up tent trailer and was great in the Rhode Island snow. My dad did instill on me a love of cars unfortunately for the AMCs the family car I adored was the first gen Taurus wagon (still my favorite car of all time lame as that may be). The eagle was a very functional car and probably would be considered a cross over today. but it was very dated looking for a car being sold in the 80s especially compared to the aerodynamic Taurus and a few others like it who were so ahead of their time that they looked current in the late 00s. All and all the eagle was a good car that was just the victim of being designed and sold by a dying company.
I've been waiting for you to give this car a good cleaning and detailing, Dane. It's a nice one and in a great color combination. And this car certainly has a very deluxe, fancy interior! I think it would be great for you to do a video showing us how you got it running, and at a car show. Even in California, where these were pretty popular when new, we don't see them at all anymore. I'm very glad you are keeping it and will enjoy driving it.
My friend had a version of the Eagle back in the day. Ugly car to me but it was comfortable and what a beast in the snow. Got to admit that all these years later I actually appreciate the spartan no nonsense design and this one is in amazing condition. Hell of a fine detail job young man!
Dane! So another awesome video....that Eagle turned out beautiful! Those Limited models had the sweetest interiors; great leather and that plush carpeting....Eagle did offer some wire wheel covers on those cars, they are possibly original and look great...Nice job, man!
I was always amazed by these when I was a kid and always asked my parents what are those. But watching this makes me realize how nice of a car this was back then and it’s almost built better than a lot new car inside. Very plush car on the inside. Nice barn find.
You really found a good one, this one must have really low miles because it’s in great condition. You’re right the people that owned it took good care of it. I can’t blame you for not wanting to get rid of it. I will drive it around with a smile on my face as well great job.
I learned to drive on my parent's 1980 2-door Burnt Sienna Eagle sedan. My second car was a 1982 4-door white and tan Eagle sedan. My 4-door had one fender that had been replaced due to an accident, and the new fender was already rusting while the rest of the car was fine. I learned that the Eagle bodies were supposedly galvanized at the factory while the Concord and Spirit bodies weren't. I've been a Jeep lover ever since the Eagle days and I'm looking for a project Eagle to round out my fleet.
Great video! You are so entertaining. The carpet on the sides and back of the seats brought me back. You should buy some American Eagle jeans to wear in the AMC Eagle.
You could get wire wheel covers on Eagles for some years. These look very similar to originals to those, so they may be. I don't believe AMC ever used Base/Clear paints, so this may be why the repaint looks different. Yes you could get more money than you paid for it, but not a lot. I'd keep it too. Great find!
I got a Rio Grande Wrangler. 30 yrs old. In great shape. Not like new but it's worthy not to waste. They way you like your AMC is ditto for my YJ. Daily Driver. I always liked those AMC Eagle 4X4's. You gotta nice one.
I saw those on marketplace and began drooling unfortunately for me, I had other irons in the fire, and no place to keep them. That car turned out beautiful. Great score 😎👍
I had a SX4 coupe from before they added the lever for turning off the four-wheel drive. It was full time 4-wheel drive with no way to turn it off. They added the lever later due to popular demand. I had a vacuum leak at the intake manifold. The dealer said they couldn't fix it because it's designed without a manifold gasket. If you have performance issues, start the engine and spray starter fluid where the intake manifold meets the head. If it leaks like mine, the starter fluid will rev up the motor.
When I was a kid and these were new, I wanted one of these or a Subaru Brat! I loved the marine style cup holder they had in these to the left of the steering column.
Don't blame you, I'd keep it too. Sometimes, its just more fun to hang on to stuff that makes you happy. I would enjoy this car more than the $ you could get for it. I know they go great in the snow also. Great video to boot.
AMC was really good at keeping cost down, this may be a 4wd Eagle but in the early 70's it was a Hornet wagon or if you took a meat clever and sliced off everything behind the "B" pillar it was a Gremlin. The basic inline 6cyl and simple platform kept AMC afloat for many years.
MY BABY!!! Well, not exactly 😉 My first car was a 1983 AMC Eagle that I bought new from Manhattan AMC. I'd looked at Eagles for years, and finally had the wherewithal to buy one. Copper Brown it was (the better to cover up campsite and railroad-crew parking-lot mud), and it set me back a bit over $11,000. I couldn't afford the Limited version, but the cloth seats, manual transmission, and manual roll-up windows were fine by me. I had a lot of great adventures in that car, and took my Scouts to camp numerous times with it. I was absolutely devastated when I moved upstate and someone stole it in 1989. The insurance company totaled Iggle, and I was well and truly heartbroken. Since then, I've had an '89 Bronco II, a '95 F-150, an '01 Pontiac Aztek, a '07 HHR, and now a 2016 Town and Country minivan - but there's still a special place in my heart for my first love, my Iggle 🤎
When I was younger 15-16 ….Must have been around late 80’s I started seeing these and I loved them! Think about it it’s like the first suv/car…. The predecessor to the ford edge…. Which was one of the first… anyway my friends thought I was weird, but I loved them. Color is horrible, but….great work
Great job on the detail. Although I like AMC Eagles, I'm really digging that Lincoln hiding in the corner of your shop. It looks like a Mobsteel build!
Brings back great childhood memories. My best friends mom drove us around in hers, it was the same color scheme. I don’t remember it having wire wheel covers though. Enjoy!
I wanted one of these cars so bad. Allas I could not afford a new car. Way ahead of their times. That 6cyl engine is great too. That is a keeper as you said.
My mother had one …a 1980 4 doors. It was an amazing car. Luxurious, comfortable and 4WD ! It was something else in those years….i think before Audi Quattros. It weird that it didn’t take AMC out of financial ruins.
Not sure of the exact styling lineage, but it’s much like looking at a pic of an old forefather, you can almost see the lines of a Jeep Grand Cherokee in this car! I love AMCs - always the coolest car lot in town!
From sitting the underside is alil crusty, and there is a slight weak spot on driver side. In future I'll repair that and paint the chassis. But usually these things are GONE! If you seen from my previous videos the silver one got ripped in half 😂
The wire wheel cover are actually very similar to OEM AMC ones that were available. Yes it's weird to have wire wheel covers on a 4x4, but they had them. Although most that I remember had alloy wheels. Note this car has the tilt-wheel from GM, the shifter is Ford Fox platform (Mustang). The transmission is Chrysler Torqueflite, it has a GM Saginaw steering box, Ford Motorcraft ignition and starter, GM alternator, and more things I'm probably forgetting.
@ “AMC-All Makes of Cars” I grew up right by Kenosha so these were everywhere when I was a kid. I liked them and a friend’s dad had an old farm full of broken AMC’s
Good luck on the AMC Concord project, David. Go by the book on this; give it a transformation it never saw coming. Have a great Christmas & safe 2025 season to you.
My mom had one 1982 it was black with black interior! It was such a sweet car until a drunk driver took it out sitting in our driveway! What great memories!
Back in those days I drove AMC Matador station wagons in my work.I drove fifty thousand miles a y ear and drove them for four years with almost no problems. I wish they were still in business and did not sell to Chrysler as just a few years after the sale Jeep went wild in sales and AMC would be a big company now.

a good friend had an 81 Eagle. They were good cars (for that time frame, which doesn't say much). I saw an Eagle go at auction in Cental Pa auction for 25 grand a few years ago.... of course, that requires two bidders with deep pockets.
Awesome choice. Love the simple no nonsense video and explanation. Never long winded. Keep it up
Thanks, I appreciate it! I like to get in and get out so people don't get bored. 🎥
Exactly what I said on another video
The first family type car I ever bought was a brand new '81 Eagle.
Never gave me any trouble. Nice find!
Excellent job detailing the Eagle!!
Great job on the AMC. It’s one of my favorite cars.
Appreciate it, I love Eagles too! 🔥
I love these old Eagles, you’re so lucky to have found these! The Limited is such a gem and the fact it’s all in tact is amazing! Keep it original, don’t butcher it up, it’s only original once.
I'm glad that you're not only keeping it original, but that you're keeping it to drive around!
Incredible find. Excellent shape. Really enjoy your videos.
@jamesphilip6737 Thanks you i appreciate it 🙏
Love them old AMCs they don't make'm like that anymore more. Looks great 😎

Dude! Amazing! Thank you for saving a non-traditional American made vehicle!!! Envy here!
Fantastic job. Beautiful. Love your passion for what you do with these vehicles.🙌 👍😎
You have an awesome little wagon there Dane. Great job! Thanks for another fun video and have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks! I appreciate it. Merry Christmas to you too! 🙌
Fantastic detailing job.
Gotta love Dane. I love that your details are just plain and simple unlike some of the other channels that are just trying to hard by adding unnecessary things that people don't like.
I absolutely love watching your detailing process.
Thank you
And 1985 I purchased an AMC eagle station wagon which was an exceptional car. In the mid-1980s AMC was sold to the Chrysler corporation mostly for Jeep under the lee Iacocca. AMC was a very good car. Enjoy yours. From Key West Florida.
No, they weren't. Thats why they went out of business. They were giant POSs.
Beautiful transformation. Looks great with the new chrome spoke hubcaps. Very upscale Eagle, with the "Limited" trim, power windows, power seats. Quite a rare find.
I enjoyed watching this. Very satisfying. Great job.
I had an SX/4 years ago, it was a beast in the snow. I wish i would have never got rid of it ☹. Those cars were way ahead of it's time. I never understood why they were never really that popular.

Pretty cool! It does my heart good to see a young man take such pride in what he has and enjoying hard honest work / Fun. 😎🇺🇸
One of the other two Eagles has the rare factory air compressor/ auto rear leveling air compressor. There should be a hose in the rear to pump up your tires.
My parents bought a brand new fully loaded Eagle SX4 coupe in black way back in the day. Very cool cars.
Great find! And you do an excellent job! Sure do enjoy your videos!
AMC Eagles are so cute, cool, & adorable
good job Dane, Merry Christmas to you and your family! 👍👍🎅🏻
Thanks I appreciate it 🙏 Merry Christmas!
Such an awesome vehicle! Definitely on my bucket list to own. Some real neat American made automobile history. 👍
I WANT IT!

Great Car that was quality as the best the carpet is so beautiful. And the color combination is stunning ❤
Man I’m so envy of you!!! I want it!!!

Got to admit that all these years later I actually appreciate the spartan no nonsense design and this one is in amazing condition.
Hell of a fine detail job young man!
Love and respect this car.
🙌🙌🙌
I had a silver with maroon trim 4 door Eagle Wagon, we had a big snow and I pulled my 2 cousins on sleds behind it through the snow. Had a blast!
Weren't they the greatest?
Dane! So another awesome video....that Eagle turned out beautiful! Those Limited models had the sweetest interiors; great leather and that plush carpeting....Eagle did offer some wire wheel covers on those cars, they are possibly original and look great...Nice job, man!

Enjoyed the vid! I have that exact Eagle with the same color. It's been fun bringing it back to life.
You really found a good one, this one must have really low miles because it’s in great condition. You’re right the people that owned it took good care of it. I can’t blame you for not wanting to get rid of it. I will drive it around with a smile on my face as well great job.
Thanks I appreciate it 🙏 Eagle has 95k miles. Not super low, but still low for a 40 year old car.
@ really good condition for being that age of eagle
Well done. Cleaning the underside of the hood is a nice touch!
Thanks I appreciate it 🙏

New fans from Indonesia... ❤❤❤ Love your video...

Used to have a amc concord loved that car
I saw those on marketplace and began drooling unfortunately for me, I had other irons in the fire, and no place to keep them.
That car turned out beautiful. Great score 😎👍
My uncle had an AMC eagle when I was a kid in the 80’s. Good little cars. I wish I could find one in decent shape.
Great car, great video- was a fan of the Eagle.

Beautiful makeover, she looks great! I'm curious how the maroon Eagle will look like when you decide to clean it up as well.
Keep tuned to find out! The maroon one gets it's turn here in just a couple weeks! 🔥
Great job. I love it that uou like this unique car. I hope it turns out to be an amazing deal for you.

A beautiful car. Old AMCs were on another level. A lil sad we didn't see the outcome of those pedals
Nice job sir Nice AMC Nice show Merry Christmas to you 😃👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍😍

I appreciate it! A series painting that car is in the near future stay tuned 😎
Great video! Made me want to go detail my car, even though it's about 25 degrees over here
AMCs are wonderful cars. Four of my 20 AMCs are Eagles. Two of those are restored originals and one has an AMC 360 V8. Yes, had to do that for fun.
I might have to do that to the maroon one 🤔
@@DetailDane Many consider that mission impossible, but it fits. There´s a lot of fabrication, but doable.
Brings back great childhood memories. My best friends mom drove us around in hers, it was the same color scheme. I don’t remember it having wire wheel covers though. Enjoy!
Really good looking car. Hope ya get it back on the road.
I wanted one of these cars so bad. Allas I could not afford a new car. Way ahead of their times. That 6cyl engine is great too. That is a keeper as you said.
That is a sharp looking car. It's a keeper for sure

Just discovered your channel and subbed! Amazing car, it deserves a 2nd life ❤
Took my drivers test in one, Loved that car. It would go through any snow we pointed it at.
That is one very nice Eagle... say, when this car's all sorted out, how about bringing this one to that big AMC owner's show in Kenosha, Wisconsin?
Nice work dude
First car i ever played stink finger with my first girlfriend back in 88.
Great memories.
Keep it! Those things are getting harder to find and it's a "Limited" edition top of the line with all the bells and whistles.
Oh I want this 🥺 very cool find!
We had a blue two door Eagle with a 4 speed transmission. I love these cars.
They are super cool! 🔥
Not sure of the exact styling lineage, but it’s much like looking at a pic of an old forefather, you can almost see the lines of a Jeep Grand Cherokee in this car! I love AMCs - always the coolest car lot in town!
Nice looking American car. Keep it.
I'll keep it till I die along with one to many others 😂
@DetailDane you are a good man sir keep those american cars on the road.
Those are great in snow!!
Dude you got a great bargain on the AMC you' ll never find another thats rust free and that nice enjoy
From sitting the underside is alil crusty, and there is a slight weak spot on driver side. In future I'll repair that and paint the chassis. But usually these things are GONE! If you seen from my previous videos the silver one got ripped in half 😂
Nothing says “1990” like twin blade windshield wipers and JC Whitney wire wheel hubcaps 👍🏼 I really like this channel

This just satisfies the man brain.
Good luck on the AMC Concord project, David. Go by the book on this; give it a transformation it never saw coming. Have a great Christmas & safe 2025 season to you.
Appreciate it, I'm on it 😎
My mom had one 1982 it was black with black interior! It was such a sweet car until a drunk driver took it out sitting in our driveway! What great memories!
I need to deep clean my Eagle. Sweet!!
Marry Christmas everybody from South Africa 🎉🎉 🎉
Merry Christmas 🎅
Another South African here. Merry Christmas y'all.
Very cool, looking forward to more On these cars
I've always thought the Eagles were near cars!
And you're from Michigan!
Cleaned up real nice. Would be great to know what cleaning supplies you used for the clean up.
Reminds me of my quest for an LX trim first model year Ford Taurus wagon in red. Been searching since 2018 for an 86'.
Let's see more of it, for sure 👍 👌
Car's already paying for itself 😂😂😂😂 love the asmr
😂 thanks I appreciate it 🙏
I would do the decontamination before detailing the interior so you're not breathing in all of those pathogens in the steaming process. Just an observation.
I really like AMC Eagles. Want to get one some day.
Enjoy watching, but please provide more detail on the products and pads you are using. What product did you use before you used steam on the carpets, and why?
I'll explain more in future videos with the new product line I'm about to start using! But for now I was Useing Franks Special Cleaner from Siler Sales Website! 🔥
a good friend had an 81 Eagle. They were good cars (for that time frame, which doesn't say much). I saw an Eagle go at auction in Cental Pa auction for 25 grand a few years ago.... of course, that requires two bidders with deep pockets.
