I love this kind of thing! If you are looking for a healthy, pure powder foundation I would recommend the alima pure. It only has 4 ingredients and I have acne scarrin, but find the coverage nice with some spot concealing. However, I like the idea of making it like this too! I think I'll give it a try.
Turmeric is FABULOUS for the skin & actually makes an excellent mask. It can be especially good for reducing redness/ rosacea. It can temporarily stain though, so just a heads up!!
It's been a busy month for me so i'm using today to catch up on all videos! Thanks for doing this video. I didn't know I could make my own powder foundation like this.
Serein this DIY foundation powder gave you such a healthy glow and it was just enough coverage to let your natural skin peek through. I am going to try this out soon! Your channel is so inspiring and drama free! Breath of fresh air! 💐
Wow this is interesting! Do you think it's gonna clog pores overtime? I have super big pores and this is the only concern I have. How long have you been using it?
I've been using it for almost 2 months now and my skin actually looks better and I haven't had as many minor breakouts like I use to with conventional foundation.
Interesting, i wonder how the staying powder of this compares to regular powders. Arrowroot is know for being a super safe alternative to cornstarch, people use turmeric and cocoa in masks for skin already, so i trust that this is safe
I've been wearing it for about two months now and the powder stays on just as long as the conventional ones for me. Sometimes on really hot days I'll add a dusting in the afternoon, but I've noticed my skin looks better with this.
So I don’t love the presses version, but you can add a few drops of alcohol at a time and take a flat surface object to press it down. Repeat till you get a pressed powder. Then allow the alcohol to evaporate over night maybe longer
Have you considered making a mineral foundation with zinc oxide & titanium dioxide? I would a video on that from you, especially since you love SPF so much! (as do I) :)
I have, but have to look into where and how to purchase the ingredients. Want to make sure it's as safe and high quality as I can get if I were to make my own.
You can use whatever you feel comfortable with. I personally wanted to avoid flour in case of gluten sensitivity or allergies. We also use the arrowroot powder to make our own "baby powder" for hot weather or chaffing
Cool Serein...I imagine it smells good with the cinnamon...I use to use powder foundations (bare minerals), and I loved them, but now that I have more mature skin, they don't look as good on me ...Maybe as a setting powder...thanks for sharing hun XoXo
Try setting your bareMinerals with rose water or setting spray, that always helps with powder product for me. The foudnation smells amazing like chocolate and cinnamon :-p
Awesome video! 😍😍😍 True fan here of anything you do. What bothers me, is when people beg to win your giveaways, and say why they think they deserve it lol. Nothing about them makes them more deserving than the rest of us who are subscribed and support you. You know i always am very blunt in my comments, and when something rubs me the wrong way, I say it lol. Love you. So cool to watch homemade makeup lol thumbs up mama
It's actually safe and a lot better than some of the chemicals in our conventional makeup. You can look it up online. Obviously everyone has different allergies and sensitivities, so avoid it if you're allergic to arrowroot.
Depending what you put in it and the shelf life of your ingredients. I use mine up in about a month. I wouldn't keep a ton around in my makeup bag for too long.
Do a patch test underneath your chin. I for example am allergic to a lot of things however the sensitive varies on different parts on my body. I can put several products on my wrist and not have any irritation but swell when uts on my face.
What happens if I just use arrowroot because I want to cosplay an anime character with a skin tone that's basically printer paper? Huge mistake, or give it a shot? I understand nothing about makeup, avoiding it most of my life because I know it's generally not good for health, so now I have a bottle of coconut oil, a bag of arrowroot and shea butter in the Save for Later cart, and a lot of confusion. :
My only thing is she is mixing all these ingredients with metal... maybe wooden products and glass mixing containers.. those seem safer because metal of any kind can seep into the powder products.
I was hesitant at first too, but to be honest my skin loved it and it looked really good. Everyone complemented me on my makeup when I was wearing and testing the foundation out.
Iron Oxides are in most color products since it's how they get the color of the foundation a lot of the times. This DIY doesn't use any, so hopefully it works. Have you tried 100 Percent Pure?
Serein Wu i ordered the 2nd skin foundation from 100 pure it's the only one with only fruits pigments the others had some oxide and everything else even the powder ones. Waiting for my package 📦 now I hope it will work 🤞🏻
Anam Hasan i don't know I tried to compare with other products I already have with the cosdna website it's really helpful. But I'm going to a dermatologist to be tested I really need to know what the ingredient I'm reacting to !!!! ( even the rms concealer break me out on my face and it doesn't have mica in it but the oxide and blabla)
Louise www.rmsbeauty.com/products/un-cover-up Are you talking about this^ product? From my experience, most oils especially coconut oil will break you out. This product contains coconut oil. I'd recommend using this website to compare your makeup ingredients. Although bismuth oxychloride and mica are not on the list, in my experience they are highly irritating as well as most oils which are comodegenic. Here's the website: skinsalvationsf.com/comedogenic Good luck!
girrrrl, i know this is an old video, but i really think you should take this down, its a matter of public safety. you know damn well that cinnamon should NOT go on your skin, patch test or not. I hope no one actually does this.
Yeyyy another video😊 ohh u know how to make a foundation😊😍 that's amazingg😊 and i hope i will be the lucky winner of the giveaway bc i also want to make my skin soft and nice😢😢😢

Bought and tested. LOVE IT.
ifollowrivers I agree! Their loose powder foundation is all I've used the last couple of years.
Hello just found your video can I make this into a bb cream using moisturiser?
Turmeric is FABULOUS for the skin & actually makes an excellent mask. It can be especially good for reducing redness/ rosacea.
It can temporarily stain though, so just a heads up!!
I don't have arrowroot flour does it work if I just use normal flour?
Love that you're embracing more natural makeup! -JP
I'm going to try this! Bc a lot of foundations Break me out or make my face itch!!!
Aw yay! Hope this works better for you!
Wow!!! I have all of these ingredients and usually everything at my house is as natural as possible. Definitely going to try this!!
+LiaMarieM900 yay!!!

It's been a busy month for me so i'm using today to catch up on all videos! Thanks for doing this video. I didn't know I could make my own powder foundation like this.

aw yay! So happy you enjoyed the video! I've worn the foundation since I filmed this video a month ago. I LOVE it and my skin looks better :-)
Could you give us the link to the powder containers you bought on amazon? Thanks!!
I'll have to find them, I just searched makeup powder containers, but will update with a link by this afternoon :-)

Serein, finally!!! 😳😳I have been waiting for this video for so long!!!! lol Loving it! 超级喜欢
aw yay! Thanks for watching!
i use it but i use corn starch instead of arrowroot,,,works perfectley
How long can we use this foundation?
omg yessss serein
Working on the blush and bronzers currently. The formula's a little harder to get right, but coming soon!
Hi Serein! That's is so cool!!! I love that you know exactly what's in it🌺🌺🌺
Yay! Agreed, thanks for watching :-)
Hi Serein, could you demonstrate the part where you pressed the foundation with almond oil? (Or you could just explain it?) because I am very confused
So I don’t love the presses version, but you can add a few drops of alcohol at a time and take a flat surface object to press it down. Repeat till you get a pressed powder. Then allow the alcohol to evaporate over night maybe longer
wow! Well done and thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Domniki!

I cannot wait to try this!!!!! Thank you Serein!
aw yay! So happy to hear! Hope you had a good first day back at school!
Serein Wu wow, thank you so much! It ended up being a good day, nervous for nothing lol.
Can you just use coco powder and flour
You can use whatever you feel comfortable with. I personally wanted to avoid flour in case of gluten sensitivity or allergies. We also use the arrowroot powder to make our own "baby powder" for hot weather or chaffing
What's the shelf life.
I prefer a liquid foundation-how do you liquify this? thx.
add it to your moisturizer
It sounds like a cool idea!

Serein Wu Thanks dear 😊
Wow, how fun! Now I want to make my own.
Hope you are feeling well.

This is fantastic! Love you 😘
Thanks! Hope you're doing well!
😍 nice, but i am not sure about flour its good on the skin?
Mariana Grama Arrowroot powder isn't the same as flour. It's comparable to cornstarch. :)
It's actually safe and a lot better than some of the chemicals in our conventional makeup. You can look it up online. Obviously everyone has different allergies and sensitivities, so avoid it if you're allergic to arrowroot.
Serein Wu oh ok, thank you! Definitely I will try 😍😍😘😘😘😘
Dandi Ré ok Thanks!
do you think i could use all purpose flour?
Probably not as it tends to clump
Ok thanks!
Wow! I love c'cow powder!
Me too!
do you still have this and is it ok to set makeup
Not this exact one since it’s like a year old video, but yes
So I tried it...and mine came out clumpy not sure why 😩 did not look good on my skin 😪 not sure what I did wrong 🥲I wear over my liquid foundation
How long is the shelf life?
Depending what you put in it and the shelf life of your ingredients. I use mine up in about a month. I wouldn't keep a ton around in my makeup bag for too long.
it is awesome. great idea DIY :-)
Thanks Windy!

Amelia Winchester i've also heard kind of under/behind your ear b/c the skin there is thin
NOTIFICATION SQUAD WHERE YOU AT!!
hey corona virus😲
I appreciate that you're making more vidoes about clean beauty! 🙅🏽 chemicals for me
Yay, so happy you are enjoying it! Thanks for watching :-)
Gostaria muito de entender inglês...😁
LOL okay wth is arrowroot flour? I have everything else, but is that significant or something?
What happens if I just use arrowroot because I want to cosplay an anime character with a skin tone that's basically printer paper?
Huge mistake, or give it a shot?
I understand nothing about makeup, avoiding it most of my life because I know it's generally not good for health, so now I have a bottle of coconut oil, a bag of arrowroot and shea butter in the Save for Later cart, and a lot of confusion. :
The way she said cocoa
Cocoa is a powder made from ground cacao seeds. Cacao powder is simply another way to say cocoa
❤️fun
My only thing is she is mixing all these ingredients with metal... maybe wooden products and glass mixing containers.. those seem safer because metal of any kind can seep into the powder products.
despite knowing exactly what is in this, I'm not so sure I would put it on my face. cool idea though!
I was hesitant at first too, but to be honest my skin loved it and it looked really good. Everyone complemented me on my makeup when I was wearing and testing the foundation out.
Sorry, I see no effect on your face. Not much like a foundation
do not use food

It's going to be my last hope even the powder from alima pure broke me out, it's must be the iron oxide or one of thoses I can't any more
Iron Oxides are in most color products since it's how they get the color of the foundation a lot of the times. This DIY doesn't use any, so hopefully it works. Have you tried 100 Percent Pure?
it was most likely the micas used in Alima Pure. I had the same problem
Serein Wu i ordered the 2nd skin foundation from 100 pure it's the only one with only fruits pigments the others had some oxide and everything else even the powder ones. Waiting for my package 📦 now I hope it will work 🤞🏻
