*I just want to say too a big massive thank you for all the amazing comments on last week's video!!! More chats on that for sure! You've made me feel brave about speaking out about it! And tbh, I'm going through the intense part of mine! Love you all to bits! Xxx*
Or paint the brown shelf a lighter color so it doesn't feel cluttered? Not sure if that would work for you. just an idea. Love watching your UA-cam channel.
what I wouldn't do to live exactly where you do! I'm in extra dry, zero rain ever, big city, Denver Colorado. Which is beautiful in its own way, but my goodness, the patter of the rain on your studio and the open field of just green green grass and BEAUTIFUL swans with their tiny babies omg. I would be in heaven. Your studio space is so welcoming and comfortable and like you said, cozy. I have a studio room in my house that brings in a ton of light in the afternoons. I too enjoy having everything spread out close to me. Fortunately I recently inherited my step father's old ENORMOUS drafting table that is so huge I have to crawl on top of it to reach the window and blinds! I can't reach things at the very back of it and the length of it takes up almost the entire wall. I love it. I haven't done anything to spruce my studio up yet. I need to paint it because I don't know what the former owners were thinking when they painted the walls a semi light brownish color with an 80s inspired valance over the top of the window. ugh, they even painted the ceilings. my bedroom is across the hall and is painted sea foam green and my bathroom is baby blue with dark wooden cabinets. It's just awful. Unfortunately I am medically disabled and there's no way I can paint these rooms myself. As isolating as this is I will have to hire someone to do it but that's financially out of the question. So watching your videos just makes me wish so much that I lived where your studio is. I would just love it and would never want to leave other than to dance in the grass and visit the swans and feel the rain on my face! What a dream. I can't wait to see how your studio looks when you finish putting it together. I used to have a little brown shelf just like that one and I loved it! No idea what happened to it. Enjoy it! We always wish we had things out of our reach! But I am ever so grateful for my home and my studio space. So many are living without. I don't take it for granted but your videos make me long for a life someplace beautiful!
Brain fog- intermittent fasting & very low carb diet has corrected this entirely for me. That’s 20 carbs or less and 20 hour fasting with a 4 hour eating window. You may be looking for an herbal remedy but this eating so much less frequently works perfectly for me. All the best to you- love your videos. You’re a treasure🙌🏻🥰
I think you always need to be in a space for a while before committing to new shelving and furniture etc and you and James have done this completely right to get it perfect for you! Love seeing you and James working together!
Awwwww poor James, he has the patience of a saint. lol. Everybody needs a James in their life. I do hope you are feeling much better in yourself too. Keep your light shining bright. I missed you saying that today. x
That shelf up in heaven makes me wonder... Guess I'll have to wait and see it's purpose? And the two baskets(?) Propping up the low table shelf used to hold things... now the shelf sits on it. 🤔
Swans, scones, rain, Mr DIY doing his thing and nesting are all so satisfying .🥰 Love all the shelves James put up. I wouldn't paint the wood under the plants because it grounds them. I like the little brown shelves somewhere along the daybed wall. Feels like it would be too busy on the window side of the room. Where exactly would depend on how you want to use them. For little knick knacks up where James had them is good (with little battery operated fairy lights?). If they are a little more utilitarian maybe between the daybed and desk? I picture putting your teacup there when sitting on the daybed, perusing your journals for inspiration, maybe pencils/pens and notepaper, decks of inspiration cards, mini easel for selected one. Can't wait to see what you decide.
Big cudos to James...what a great guy! And I love the way he lends you a hand when you're stepping down! ❤️ I'm so anxious to see how the studio all comes together, and the plant babies are looking fabulous 👌
Love the shelves!! James is handier than a pocket on a shirt!! Sure nice to have his wonderful help, and I love to see you two hugging!! Nice to see the fairy lights too. Makes it all more cozy!
It's looking great & inspiring. The brown strip at the top of the wall painted white would make it look a little more finished. You could use shelf brackets on the bottom shelf at your table as well. Then you wouldn't have anything in the way when you slide things under it. Just suggestions, I have always been crammed in small spaces & having to figure out how to make the most of them. When you are a crafty person, you aquire so many things to store away here & there. But you don't really want to bury them where you can never find then either. Organized Kaos is hard! You are so delightful & talented! ❤
It’s a wonderful life you & James have created. Love the way you support & encourage each other! Nice job organizing the studio. Love the sky lighting & the rain was so ever soothing to my soul. Blessings ❤️ Cathy on a Ranch in Texas
James is a true builder. First thing I noticed was his tape measure attach to his pocket. My husband has more tape measures than I can count (short, long, thin, ones that snapback and the multi-colored to make them stand out). Nice to see it all coming together.
Thank you for sharing - I ended up with some ideas to transform my art space. And thank you to James for taking such good care of you. Please share a hug with him from me - you are both so lovely to share with all of us. I love the new shelves! Virtual hugs, love and light (and fairy dust to replace any that James may have hoovered up!).
Dearest Wendy and James what a wonderful video to watch at the end of my day. I spent time in church with my son and the family to celebrate 29 yrs of the pastor who gave his final sermon today and now gets to enjoy a new chapter with his lovely wife. I love the shelf James put up and the white shelf along the back of the desk, the extension of the art shelf too. You so inspire me, last week as I mentioned on your gratitude post, I cleaned and organized my studio, and struggled up white lights along the top of the sliding glass door. That idea came from you with your fairy lights. Your studio is coming along so beautifully. I love the bond you and James have, and loved the walk along the past in the field with you dancing so carefree. You seemed more at peace today and that made me happy, but I also think it’s because James is back home. This gives you a lot more comfort and security with him close by. Sending you huge soft hugs and loads of love to you both from summer time in northern California, USA. Can’t wait to see how your little cozy area looks in the next video. 😘❤️🤗🦢🙏🍷
How exciting ...love how Dr DIY is also a Baker and a true Renaissance Man . My Darling also Bakes ..I think he is better than me because Baking is more of a Science than Cooking (I am a more of a bit of this and that kind of cook and never ever seem to make the same dish ) I like the Little shelves in the first position , looked like they were made for there (and not above Your head when on Your glorious Day Dream Bed xxx I also like the wood under the Plant Babies add warmth x Love Your studio with the rain on the skylight...so calming ...happy days and nights to You both xx
I love the new shelves. This is very inspiring. 😊 And James is such a wonderful helper. You two are such a great team. I was thinking if you put the baskets, holding up the shelf, on their sides, you would have even more storage ... but, maybe they wouldn't be strong enough to hold the shelf that way. Thank you for including us (your UA-cam family) in your life. ❤
I like the small shelves between the windows. I would put a low, narrow shelve against the wall where the daybed is, to prop up bigger canvases and bigger pictures. The mermaid would certainly look nice against a large wall that gives her space and doesn't hide her and make her compete wtith smaller ones.
Room looking good I would paint the brown shelf white before putting back up help to keep the room open. But it would be very handy for stuff at the end of your table where the big canvas is so you can keep stuff near by.
A few minor seeming adjustments can be life changing. A neat and tidy and cleanly painted art surface to proceed to get all artist painty again. YES! I look forward to seeing your adjustments utilized. It looks awesome already!
I so relate to having to much stuff on my table! And to many plants and not knowing how to sort it all out! James did a wonderful job putting up the shelves and painting etc. I loved this video! Gives me encouragement to get my art room more organized. Have a great week! Love from very hit Arizona💕
Wow, just as the rain started on your roof window, just at the same time the rain started on my roof window. A very surreal moment... it feels like I am right there, and you are right here...
Just a suggestion, you could keep the shelf at the level you have it, but move it up slightly, and secure it the wall. That's way you can use the baskets as storage and pull them out as and when you need them xx lots of love
I think that I’d move the little shelf somewhere within arm’s reach of the lovely daybed, for that’s where I’d lounge and journal with a cup of tea while taking a break from art making.
Definitely shelves are my favourite storage solution. You can see and reach everything. Make pretty displays. Hide clutter in pretty boxes. Vertical storage rocks lol
Your Studio is taking form. I love it! James is the best! You are perfect together! I look forward to your new videos but I also? watch your old videos on a regular basis. I have a few that are my favorites! You help me through my bad days and light up my good days! 🐝❤🐝❤🐝
Wendy, As a follow on from last week this couldn't have been a better choice. I discovered that 'nesting' was definitely a key for healthy mind and emotions through menopause. Its kind of like the book end of that feathering of the nest that occurs earlier in life. This is about making our space practical but comfortable, safe and snuggly. It was lovely to see James facilitating that for you. How honouring! Bless you both.
oh Wendy, so glad it's not just me that makes shelves propped on baskets and bricks.Loving your studio and how well you both work together. My studio is a disaster zone with stuff everywhere and needs a massive sorting. I've partly organised my zones one side for sewing, one for art and clay but need to really have a deep sort. You inspire me to reach for the stars and make this huge change from chaos to calm. look forward to the next video and i think the brown unit would look great by the journal table
Hey Wendy, another great Sunday evening chill with your video & a cuppa. Agree with you re-the brown shelves, I'd hang them where the canvas' are. Your studio is looking great. You've given me lots of ideas for mine, 👍. Have a great week one & all....
Hi, Wendy! That was a different video, I confess I missed your thoughts on life... 😊. Anyway, I love to move things around my house to improve my life, so I think you should do that as well. Sending you lots of love ♥️💙💗❤️💚💜🖤💛🧡
OMyStars! Swans and signets! I was drawing swans night before last, and I just watched this video today, the stars are definitely alighned at the moment. love watching you work. So inspired and stoked to get a new idea hatched 🥰💖
Great vlog, your doing the settling in and nesting just right, seeing how your space works then tweaking! Love how it’s all coming together a really comfortable space to create in xxx
Hi Wendy. Putting the shelf at the end of the table would extend the table for you. On the other hand putting it by your desk would free up desk space. Whatever works for you is what you need to do. I love watching you work it out. It's beginning to really take shape. That long shelf over your table is such a good idea. Take care and keep well.
Hey Wendy, I'm so glad to see you and James. Love the desk shelf idea, wise move I think. Your space is looking amazing 🤩 Have a super fantastic week. See you in your next video. Sending love and big hugs Sherry PS please tell James hello
I love love love your channel. It’s so happy and inspiring ! My hubby made me a small shelf about 6” wide, about 6” high and the length of my sewing table. It’s fantastic to get all of my notions off the desk and have space to tuck small boxes and bowls of supplies underneath. I also have a bracket shelf system over my desk and the lowest shelf is about8” deep and can hold my silhouette die cutting machine and some bits and bobs with room for staplers, tape and notepads under but out of the way. Works great. Can’t wait to see the next step for your space!
The new studio space is shaping up beautifully. I saw a bit of the mermaid 🧜🏼♀️canvas, it was like catching a glimpse of a friend off in the distance. Blessings!
Oh love what you are doing is always fun to make ones space better and Aww James is awesome to be so helpful and creative in helping you what a treasure Beautiful Soul James . SO happy you have an amazing partner who supports you so. can't wait to see all set up with your improvements to you Beautiful Space. Love to you And James .
Your cozy studio is coming along so well! You are always so kind to ask our opinions but honestly everything you do is always so perfect! Only because you asked I will say...as an artist who works in a very tiny space, I always dream of more shelves. When you asked if the small brown shelf should go up on the wall where the large canvas currently resides I thought why not put a number of say 6 inch wide shelves up, extending from the back wall to the end of the nook wall? Anyway, I'm sure whatever you do Wendy will be just right! Happy creating! Aloha!💖🌈💫🙋♀️
Beautiful 😍 yes wooden shelves where canvases are, definitely. Why support the shelf with baskets, any at all, just have it on brackets, clear space right through for, bits, work and wiping down when you need a good clear up 🤔
Wow, fantastic Video, great job with your editing! 😍 Love the nature parts, especially since I am from a different country. Stay safe, love to you and James. ❤️🍀🤗
Cool up cycling and cliffhanger ending 👍🏻 I’m very much a happy go lucky kinda diy-er. Luckily my partner is very James and won’t go anywhere without his tape measure and spirit level ! Rawl plugs ? What rawl plugs ? Oops. Loving the journaling nook. Of course you’ll be scared to splash for a while 😂. Take care and good job you guys. Hugs to you both 🙏❤️
Looks like you always are rearranging your studio...🥴... just like me 😄 it has to feel right doesn't? James is just great 👍🏻 Have a lovely new week Wendy 🧡
Thanks Wendy for your lovely video 😊 if you turn your desk shelf baskets on their side with the opening facing you, you could have even more depth and storage 😊💕 x
I live in the high desert in the SW USA. I LOVE that sound of rain - beautiful. We do get rain during monsoon season, but I miss the frequency throughout the year! Your studio is looking great. I think I'm just going to have to accept that I'll never have a tidy/organized studio.
oh gosh, me too! Especially on a glass sloped skylight roof! I had to stay at the studio to edit even though it was much less productive!! And yes, me too! I would rather be making stuff wouldn't you? xxxxx
*I just want to say too a big massive thank you for all the amazing comments on last week's video!!! More chats on that for sure! You've made me feel brave about speaking out about it! And tbh, I'm going through the intense part of mine! Love you all to bits! Xxx*

Could you please do a journal review...it inspires me! I so look forward to your videos...James and you are such a cute couple.
I love watching people working together. 🥰
Me too!
Watching you and James together makes me so happy. What a wonderful life the two of you have created!
Good job!! One suggestion- turn the little baskets under the lower shelf so the opening of the basket faces you. Gives you two more spaces to store.
what I wouldn't do to live exactly where you do! I'm in extra dry, zero rain ever, big city, Denver Colorado. Send some of that lovely rain this way! It is so very dry and hot in Texas!

aww thank you xxxx
I was thinking that too. I admire how well you both work together.
Rain on glass ✨❤️✨

Love the shelves!! James is handier than a pocket on a shirt!! Sure nice to have his wonderful help, and I love to see you two hugging!! Nice to see the fairy lights too. Makes it all more cozy!
I know this might sound silly but James has such a soothing voice! I could listen to him talk all day!
I agree 🥰
“Creative flow takes time” yes indeed Wendy. Thank you for sharing your creative process so honestly 🎩🌻

It looks lovely, Wendy. Sometimes the smallest endeavours can make such a difference.
Absolutely wonderful Wendy.
Good thinking James! Great team work again. 🥰🙏🏻🎉🕉️💜
I love shelves, we have them everywhere! Shelves with our art supplies and plants are the best :-) The shelf on the baskets looks lovely.
Wendy, y'all make the best team. Nesting is very important.
oh Wendy, so glad it's not just me that makes shelves propped on baskets and bricks.Loving your studio and how well you both work together.
What a lovely video. Have a wonderful week🌞🌻
Hello Wendy, thank you for this video. You always put a ray of sunshine in my day. So thank you
Your desk resembled mine, I had to have a declutter too, it was starting to get so busy I didn’t feel like painting. Well done.
Hey Wendy, another great Sunday evening chill with your video & a cuppa.
Agree with you re-the brown shelves, I'd hang them where the canvas' are. Your studio is looking great. You've given me lots of ideas for mine, 👍.
Have a great week one & all....
Can't wait. Watching now.
woohoo! Thanks for keeping me company xx
That moving in nesting feeling is so good. It helps you to feel grounded and settled into your creative space in your own unique way. 🤎🤎🤎🤎🙏🏻
Hi, Wendy! That was a different video, I confess I missed your thoughts on life... 😊. Anyway, I love to move things around my house to improve my life, so I think you should do that as well. Sending you lots of love ♥️💙💗❤️💚💜🖤💛🧡
You too beauty, loads of love xxxx makeovering spaces is one of my favourite things... especially after!!! lols!!
OMyStars! Swans and signets! I was drawing swans night before last, and I just watched this video today, the stars are definitely alighned at the moment. love watching you work. So inspired and stoked to get a new idea hatched 🥰💖
So gorgeous and precious aren't they... xxxx awwwwww xxxx
That was def confirmation that your drawing the swans 🦢 at the right time. 🤗
@@ehpeachylove ever since I read Nicholas Sparks "The Wedding", I've been enamoured with swans 🦢💕
Hey Wendy, I'm so glad to see you and James. Love the desk shelf idea, wise move I think. Your space is looking amazing 🤩 Have a super fantastic week. See you in your next video. Sending love and big hugs Sherry PS please tell James hello
Big hugs to you Sherry , and yes, will do a hello to James too!!! xxxxx
I just said hi from you Sherry!!! He says hi too!!!! xxx
Blessings!
hahaa!! yes, well done!! xxxxx big blessings back to you too! xxx
An artist best way to procrastinate is to rearrange
Oh love what you are doing is always fun to make ones space better and Aww James is awesome to be so helpful and creative in helping you what a treasure Beautiful Soul James . SO happy you have an amazing partner who supports you so. can't wait to see all set up with your improvements to you Beautiful Space. Love to you And James .
Lovely visit always creative with spaces as well as art! Blessed and safe days!
What a wonderful idea.
Thanks for taking us with you. That was fun! :) Cheers!
Welcome and thanks for keeping me company!! xxxx
Some white shelves between the windows might be nice. Blend with the wall but more storage. 🤷🏼♀️
Looks great Wendy ! 🥰
Your beautiful space 😘☕💚🧚♀️💚
Beautiful 😍 yes wooden shelves where canvases are, definitely. Why support the shelf with baskets, any at all, just have it on brackets, clear space right through for, bits, work and wiping down when you need a good clear up 🤔
Exactly!! yes, but I didn't know where I wnated stuff!! Sometimes a good clear up yes!!!! Lols!
Hope you put the brown shelf over the day bed. Love the two of you together. Hope it’s not just for the camera 🙂.
I Love your studio and it does appear cozy in the rain
yes it is! Sooo cosy in the rain!! xxx it's the skylights! reminds me of being in the van!
Enjoyed it!!! I love pottering with a cuppa in hand! Can't wait to see the end result!!! Always inspiring ❤
my new favorite word , Pottering.
Always inspiring! 💙🙏🏽💙
If you turn those baskets the other way, with the open side facing you, you can use them for pens, etc.
What a lovely way to start the week watching you and your adventures ❤️❤️ Hope you have a lovely week
You guys are a joy to watch, thank you for sharing with us xx
Love the white paint and negative wall space. Have you thought about painting your little brown shelf white?

I’m very much a happy go lucky kinda diy-er. Luckily my partner is very James and won’t go anywhere without his tape measure and spirit level ! Rawl plugs ? What rawl plugs ?

Thanks Wendy for your lovely video 😊 if you turn your desk shelf baskets on their side with the opening facing you, you could have even more depth and storage 😊💕 x

Looks great Wendy!
I live in the high desert in the SW USA. I LOVE that sound of rain - beautiful. We do get rain
during monsoon season, but I miss the frequency throughout the year! Your studio is looking great. I think I'm just going to have to accept that I'll never have a tidy/organized studio.
oh gosh, me too! Especially on a glass sloped skylight roof! I had to stay at the studio to edit even though it was much less productive!! And yes, me too! I would rather be making stuff wouldn't you? xxxxx
